The store owner, Chris, was so knowledgeable and welcoming when I called him. He gave me clear directions on how to find his store and that they could easily replace the batteries on 2 watches that we needed fixed. His prices were significantly cheaper than anyone else that quoted me, and the batteries on 2 watches were replaced in 20 minutes (at most). In addition, Chris was so generous and spent extra care to make sure that we were satisfied with the service (even taking an extra few minutes to deep clean our watches, free of charge!). Nash stayed at the store until 12:00 midnight to help me pick the perfect ring and center stone. He showed me prices from competitive stores that I had already shopped on similar stones. I already knew I was getting a fair price as I had done a lot of shopping. The ring was a custom peice and took 5 weeks for them to get in. I didn't feel this was too long as he sent me a computerized rendering of what the ring would look like along the way. When the ring arrived my jaw hit the floor. It is stunning. The addition of a saphire on each side makes it really pop. The financing they offer at Symphony is amazing. I was able to "afford" a much higher end ring than I would have otherwise. Most stores offer 12 months interest free, but I was able to get 60 months. Sure it is crazy to pay off a ring for that long, but it is interest free and makes the payment extremely manageable. I have since added two more peices from this store for my lovely lady as well as my wedding band. I really cannot imagine receiving better service from a jeweler at the point of sale. I have brought the jewelry back for a cleaning and service was good then as well. I currently have the engagement ring out for a resizing and will update if I run into any issues with Verragio's sizing service.

Ultimately though we DID NOT have the same experience that our family member did, I guess because we were unhappy with their work product and we had to go back and attempt to take advantage of post-sale service. If you are concerned about your jewelry store standing behind their work, you really should go somewhere else. We went in to have a tension ring re-sized, which they claimed they could do. We paid over $1000 for the resizing, and within 3 months the stone JUST FELL OUT!! Luckily after an hour or so on our hands and knees we found the diamond. We took it back for them fix it, which they did, for another charge of several hundred dollars. Guess what, almost immediately the stone became loose again. I gave them one more chance and to their credit they did not charge for the 3rd try. But within weeks the stone actually FELL OUT again (see picture). I went back in again, frustrated as you can imagine but calm, and they said they would stand behind their work BUT their work WARRANTY DOES NOT COVER THE DIAMOND EVEN IF their work caused the stone to fall out and lost forever! What kind of comfort is that? Are they afraid of their own work product resulting in lost stones apparently? But I digress, Gem now claims that the ring style is the real issue, not their work! They say that tension settings are an inherently unreliable mount. Really? I don't think so because my wife had this same tension ring for over 10 years and experienced absolutely no problems at all. I kept telling them but to no avail, it's not their fault. In the end, I simple asked for my money back because they didn't do what we paid them to do! But, you guessed it, they would not accommodate at all, and had the audacity to tell me to go somewhere else and still kept my money So that is my recommendation to you, GO SOMEWHERE ELSE!! There are dozens of reputable jewelry dealers in the Dallas area that can sell a ring, but only the better establishments stand behind their work, and Gem is NOT one of those retailers.
