With medicine, the pain was gone for a while, but my physical power went down after that. I work at the airport, lifting luggage and climbing stairs. Based on that, I agreed to proceed. Instead, they billed my insurance $360, leaving me with a much higher out-of-pocket cost. When I called billing, the manager said I must have misunderstood and claimed they don't give estimates, refused to check with the staff who gave me the quote, and told me to contact my insurance. I was also warned the balance could be sent to collections. This felt like a bait-and-switch, and the customer service was very disappointing. I won't be returning and recommend getting everything in writing before starting treatment. They billed 3 codes for every 15 min spent there, Therapeutic Procedures 97112- $126, Neuromuscular reeducation 97112 $70 & Therapeutic activities 97530- $162.00. In November 2017, I started having severe nerve pain in my head. The pain was so intense, I would…read morewake up crying at night. I went to urgent care and was told I had occipital neuralgia (the nerve that runs from my spine into my head was either pinched or damaged). Urgent care had no good solution. They gave me a steroid and told me to take over the counter pain meds. The steroid helped, but as soon as I was finished with them, the pain returned. I felt helpless. I decided to do some research on the condition and how to fix it. I came across a video that had a chiropractor stating that he could fix this problem. This was just what I needed. However, I found out he was located in Colorado. I am in Illinois. I decided not to give up. I looked up several chiropractors in the area and found Dr. Joseph Riggio with Itasca Health & Chiropractic. Upon my first visit, he was VERY thorough. He was straight forward with his diagnosis and the treatment that lies ahead. He told me it will be painful, but it will be worth it. We will trade pain for wellness. I have to say, the treatment was indeed quite painful, BUT it worked. Within 2 months, I was completely pain free. Even the treatment itself didn't hurt anymore. I felt like a new woman. If the patient is interested, Dr. Riggio also will discuss leading a healthy lifestyle. He has a wealth of wonderful supplements that help heal and nourish the body. With great hesitation, he convinced me to try a 30 day detox. I was terrified. I am happy to report that I followed the detox to the letter and have lost 19 lbs. within the 30 days. I am still losing weight and have no desire for fatty, greasy, unhealthy foods. It is just not appealing to me anymore. I would highly recommend this detox for anyone that wants to jumpstart a healthy lifestyle. It was much easier than I thought it would be. Dr. Riggio is amazing. He really knows his stuff.
