I was specifically looking forward to trying the shawarma in a cone, so it was disappointing to be told they weren't available--twice. I also had a strange interaction when I tried to order the paneer. The gentleman at the register told me I wouldn't like it and that I should order the chicken instead. I honestly wasn't sure what to make of that. It made me wonder if they were out of paneer or if he simply didn't want to prepare it, but rather than just telling me that, I was told what I should order. What bothered me most was that when I considered ordering something else, he tried to talk me out of it by telling me it wouldn't be enough food. I personally took offense to that because it felt like I was being judged based on my size or what he assumed I should eat. I don't eat very much at one time, and I often intentionally order smaller portions when they're available, so that comment felt unnecessary and uncomfortable. The food I've actually had has been good in flavor, which is why I wanted to give the place another try. Unfortunately, the repeated lack of cones and the interaction at the register have made the overall experience disappointing. I'd be happy to come back if the cones are actually available and the ordering experience is a little more welcoming.

It was 1PM, so the restaurant was mostly empty. I loved the round booth, although the table itself was a bit small for four adults. A server appeared within a couple minutes, and our drink orders were taken (we all had water). About 5 minutes later, we were served bread with a bottle of oil & balsamic vinegar mixture. I didn't realize there was vinegar at the bottom of the bottle, so did not shake it and merely poured off the top, getting only oil. Therefore, I got the full effect of the oil taste, and it was noticably stale. I asked the husband of the other couple what he thought, since he is a former award-winning executive chef. He agreed with my assessment, and he actually had shaken up the mixture. We did not order any appetizers/tapas before our meal. For entrees, my husband ordered the lasagna, and loved it. My friend's husband (the chef) ordered a salad (idk which one) with salmon, and said it was good. My girlfriend and I ordered flatbread pizzas--her the Margherita, and me the Albanese (pepperoni). She didn't eat much of hers, but didn't comment as to whether she had issues with it. I found mine to be over done and lacking in flavor. The pepperoni was dry. Based on other reviews, I would like to come back for dinner with my husband and try some tapas or one of the signature entrees (specifically the lobster ravioli, though it has mixed reviews). I found the pricing to be more than I wanted to pay for lunch, though, which is why I ordered a flatbread pizza. The service was excellent, atmosphere was very pleasant (no loud music, good room temperature), and the decor is absolutely beautiful! Great for a date night.
