I had a situation where I needed a screen made ASAP. I'm from out of town and went to a different Ace. The man in service couldn't guarantee it could be done as they ship them out. He suggested I ask at Hunt's. If they can't do it they'll know who can. I drove over and two young men were experts on what I needed and said they could do it. They has a rush fee I was glad to pay and later on that evening they called to say it was done. What a relief. We drove over and picked it up. The women at the check out counter were friendly and made my trip extra special. I know if we need something again Hunt's Ace will be the first choice. Update: we were going to rescreen the remaining 3 windows but Hunt's did such an expert job I took them to their store and they did a quick and professional job. I have been getting my skates sharpened here for years. They have the traditional rounded and the flat bottom V. We have been coming for after Christmas shopping for a few year now. The lights they carry are very bright and the colors are very vivid. They look wonderful on the tree. They also sell honey and other bee products from a local farm. I cannot stand racism or profiling or assumptions. A year ago I bought an extra long iPhone cord here. Well it stopped working so I went back yesterday to purchase another. I didn't take my phone (my fault) because it was almost dead and I left it at home on a different charger. The lady gave me a cord and off I went. Well, when I got home, it didn't fit my phone. I brought it back today(I had my receipt but had removed the tag). The lady that waited on me accuses me of basically switching the cords and trying to bring it back. I tried to explain that I'm not a thief nor do I need to beat anyone out $16. She was the RUDEST AND MOST INSULTING LADY I HAVE ENCOUNTERED IN AWHILE! She finally agreed to exchange my cord, but was giving me a look of disgust as if I had done something wrong. I went to my car and was looking for it with tears in my eyes. I FOUND THE TAG! IT HAD FALLEN OFF BETWEEN MY CARSEAT! I went back in the store, and gave it to her. She refused to take it saying she didn't need it. No apology or anything. Just ok. I tossed it on the counter and told her, "Now you don't need it after your awful comments?" I won't be going back in there. Who needs that? Every time I go to this location I receive excellent service and advice. So much better than the big box stores.

This is a great hardware store. More variety than the old ACO Hardwares (now called Great Lakes Ace). They have cool services in the back like screen repair and seem to have a much better selection of pretty much everything, especially holiday decor. This is my go-to hardware store in the area when I need a tricky fastener, pipe fitting, etc. Plus, it has that old hardware store feel with the narrow aisles and packed shelves. It may be part of the Ace chain, but it still has that "mom and pop" vibe in a way. read more

When I'm at the office, this is my go-to hardware. It's family run and always has just about everything I'm looking for. They've got a nice nut/bolt/accessory isle with a lot of oddball components that you may be in search of like corks, toggles, washers, T-nuts, fittings, etc., etc., etc. They also carry a wide array of tubing, piping, round stock, PVC and the like. So glad this hardware store is in my neighborhood. We had purchased a wheel for my sister's walker and then realized we did not have the proper tools to install it. The owner was out in the parking lot; got the walker out of the trunk and had it readied while we drove home to pick up the wheel. Friendly, helpful staff which is sadly rare these days. There is one big problem: the older woman (hair on top of head often at the register) is very rude. I have been going to this ACE store for many years and, unfortunately, have never been comfortable with the staff. They are knowledgeable enough, but they are RUDE! It is systemic, not just one person. They have a very condescending attitude and do not hesitate to infer how the customer is wrong. I just made my LAST trip to this location.
