Nachos were decent and the portion was generous. Cali Burrito was odd with French fries as a mushy filler. The ground beef seems to be cut with some sort of filler (the texture is odd). Salsa and chips are extra ($7) - since one of us had nachos we passed on chips and salsa. 4 percent service fee for credit card. Lunch for two was about $45 and food was just OK. Service was fine. My son had an eye doctor appointment in Huntley so I thought I would be the best mom and wife ever and bring some QuesaBirria Tacos home for lunch. We ordered at the counter and waited at a table for our food to be prepared. Cute little restaurant and it was very clean. There were a couple of tables of eat-in diners but it did not feel cramped or crowded. When our food was ready, we grabbed it and drove home, hoping it would still be warm ish by the time we arrived.... it was! Not only was it still pretty warm, the tacos were delicious! Tacos Locos was hopping during their Taco Tuesday lunch hour. We were driving home through Huntley, and their social media is so great, that I had to stop. The Tuesday special is chicken, pork or steak tacos for $1.50. Yes, $1.50! You can get them plain or with cilantro and onions. I chose chicken with cilantro and onions. I picked off most of the cilantro, but I loved the amount of onions given, both were generous. The tortillas are two corn, very traditional; I always only eat one and know I will get a bit messy :-) The chicken was tinga style and soaked in a great marinade. I would get them again for sure. I also ordered chips and salsa. I would pass on this next time. The salsa was decent, nice heat, but I've had better, and the chips were basic and not very salty. I'd weather spend the money on trying something different. I will definitely be back. The lunch crowd sure shows that this is a popular place; I'd like to explore more if the menu. read more

This is a popular Mexican restaurant in Huntley. I've eaten & ordered takeout often,until this post. My husband & I got takeout that night. We ate completely different dishes. I had guacamole & a cheese quesodilla. It was delicious. I finished my meal. My husband, Mark, had a burrito. He doesn't like guacamole. 25 minutes after I finished my delicious dinner, I spent the next hour or so in the bathroom. It's a good thing we have 2 bathrooms. It took Mark close to an hour, then he got sick too. Exactly the same as me. We didn't have food poisoning. We didn't need to go to an Immediate Care or an ER. The food was obviously handled by an employee that failed to wash their hands is my best guess. Our food isn't sterile. Ergo, nothing we ingest isn't sterile. I realize that the food could come to you contaminated. I don't believe it in this case. We never heard of any other folks getting sick. No big E.Coli or other recall. That's why I believe our problem was caused by whomever prepared our food. We don't plan on eating there again. Woodstock, Elgin,just about every town has a good & apparently safer options for us. 2nd time here and 2nd time was definitely worth it. I'll be back for sure. Going in on a Saturday, I ordered their new item that's been a hot thing everywhere on social media being Quesabirra. Omg this was so good. The taco quesadilla combo with the broth to the side was something all of us in the family loved. Just for reference we ordered 8 of them and they finished within minutes lol. This was the only thing I was able to get a picture of as well because after we started eating yea we just couldn't stop lol. For the other things we tried the chicken enchilada with the verde sauce. The shrimp taco dinner. And then 2 chimichangas: One was a shrimp chimichanga and substituted the beans for rice (was way better than expected in a chimichanga, one of my new favorite items, the shrimp was a great size compared to other places) The other one was a carne asada chimichanga without beans as well. Me not being able to take a picture of the rest of the food should be a hint to go out and try their food when you get a chance because we finished it before we could. Asked for a side of onion, sour cream, cilantro and jalapeño and got charged $5 extra for sides.. got home to them forgetting the sour cream and the sides coming in these small containers!! Took my kids last night only because we needed to go to Wal-Mart and they had a taste for Mexican. But it was quite disappointing. Price to Value: HIGH Quality: BELOW AVERAGE Service: FAIR (but completely unnecessary) 1. Unlike other taquerias and Mexican restaurants where it is complimentary, they charge a whopping $6.50 for chips and salsa. Yes, for dine in! Clearly written on their menu, though I've never actually paid attention before. (I guess that's one of the reasons why I've always thought I left with an empty wallet). Corn tortillas are still cheap, despite inflation. And it doesnt cost much to give a small dish of salsa with them. If they feel compelled to charge, the $2.50 is appropriate. But for $6.50, I can get a bag of El Milagro Totopos and a jar of salsa from Wal-Mart next door. 2. I get inflation, and I get how it is affecting everyone. With that being said, I have long felt that Humtley's Tacos Locos was overpriced. Ever since they changed locations from further north on IL-47 a handful of years ago, they just seem to have been more and more pricier. I swear they got even more expensive when they added the gaming machines. Maybe that's the problem...not enough people use those machines (which take up half of their dining space), so they lose customers...hence, menu prices go up to try to offset their losses. But they just seem to be overpriced even in an inflationary economy, especially when you factor in quality and portion size... 3. Burrito Loco Dinner - $12.95. I swear it's gotten more expensive AND smaller. It's not as full as it used to be. I'm also certain the tortilla size has been reduced to put less product in it. Quesabirria Tacos - $16.75. This is the better value of the three dinners we ordered. My daughter does enjoy these very much. Steak Fajitas - $16.45. Meat was tough. I'll say it again...TOUGH!!! This was a cheap cut of meat they're trying to hand tenderize to pass off as something you would eat in this presentation. I firmly believe they use the same cut of beef as they use for the braised beef in the Quesabirria tacos. The difference is that if they're using something like beef chuck (or a similarly tough cut of beef) to braise for Quesabirria, it is not a good cut of meat to grill. Served with lettuce and tomatoes, but no cheese or sour cream? Every Mexican restaurant serves cheese and sour cream. So, between the TOUGH cut of meat I had to exercise my jaw to chew through and the lack of accompaniments, the Fajotas are a POOR value. Charge me a few more dollars, improve the quality of the meat, and give some sour cream and cheese. 4. I don't understand the point of servers here. Like I said, half of the place is gaming machines so they only have 2 high top tables and maybe 6 standard tables. The order counter for carryout is right there. So why not eliminate the servers and just have people order through the counter / pick up from the counter. Our server was pleasant, but there wasn't really any wow factor. Took our orders, delivered our food, brought our check. Very robotic with no personality. I asked for two boxes for the kids' leftovers, which she brought out quickly along with the check. However, she walked away while leaving my empty plate and fajita skillet in front of me. Should have been removed, so I wound up stacking them and pushing them to the side. This is why servers here are unnecessary. If there's no real purpose for them, get rid of them and save the additional labor cost...and I can save the $9 gratuity I left, which wasn't really warranted. ONE MORE THING!!! Be cautious if you order through GrubHub. I just noticed the prices they charge on GrubHub are HIGHER than what they charge in house. I don't think that's right. They shouldn't inflate their prices on GrubHub just because they want the extra business but don't want to lose margin because of the cut that GrubHub takes. All in all, I don't know if I will go back to Tacos Locos. There are so many options for Taquerias and Mexican restaurants around, and I have already found a few that offer a better overall quality and value. read more

Where do I begin?! It was our firat time visiting and you can't miss this place. Located off of 47 in front of the Huntley Walmart. Parking was plentIful. The four off us started off with three soft drinks and I can't pass up the opportunity to have a Margarita! Classic on the rocks. Yum! We had chicken taquitos, chicken quesadillas, I got three tacos: shrimp, fish and steak and the hubby got three as well: two steak and one Locos Taco. The Flautas were rolled to perfection, crunchy and filled with chicken! The chicken quesadillas were super cheesy and filled with perfectly seasoned chicken. My son was very happy after he ate hIs large portion of quesadillas. My tacos were delicious. The fish was so large in the taco, grilled and was one of the best I have ever had. Simply delicious. The shrimp was grilled as well. Great flavor and perfectly cooked. The steak was my last to eat. The two first ones were the perfect sized, i didn't even need the thIrd. BUT I love steak tacos. So I happIly forced myself to eat the steak taco. Oh my!!! Great. No fat, tender steak. I loved it all. Hubby: Locos Taco, it was chock fulll of meaty goodness. (His exact words). GREATNESS. Made an online order through yelp and had it delivered. Upon delivery, the delivery guy was waiting for me to pay when i already had. I used my card to pay for the bill + tip. When i told him, he seemed pretty confused about it then left. Aside the confusion, i ordered 10 steak tacos and they were yummy! Only downfall for online ois the minimum amount of money you have to spend on your order--which is $25. That's before tax and the delivery fee. Update: just ordered 7 tacos and sides of sour cream. The sour cream was extra and it never made it's way here. Called in and they said they'd issue a refund, but haven't gotten it yet. Food also came cold, which is weird since I live 5 minutes away. They were a complete mess that required a beach towel to eat with - not a handful of napkins. On our last trip we had take out and went to the Huntley park.
