Then we missed a class and asked for a makeup class, they notified the makeup class on the day they scheduled the makeup class without any advance notice, just sent a text asking us to get online. To date (Jan 21) after more than a month of my request, I have not receive the refund and the owner wrote me back a month after my withdraw request and said I should have given notice before the beginning of month. Their policy on registration form is 4 weeks notice for withdraw, now they are saying it's on me not withdrawing at the right timing and I abrumply withdraw without giving them reason. My son has 4 different after school activities and most of them are very easy to communicate with.  Aloha has by far the worst communication and attitude I've encountered.

I communicated with Ms. Kaltun, the director and I must say, after speaking to her once, I was "sold" at putting my son at her school. She is very personable, very kind and understanding, genuine and just listened to my questions, concerns and answered them confidently which gave me peace of mind sending my son over to a school during the pandemic. We then went to the school for a tour and met Ms. Komala, our son's primary teacher. At first meeting, our son felt very comfortable with her and he never forgot her name even tho it took us about 4 months before starting in class- she sure gave him a good impression and really showed us how much she cared for the children. I have so much good things to say about the school. I have recommended them to my friends and coworkers who also had good experience with them. Overall, this is a place that cares about our children, they do not look at them as numbers like all the others. If you want quality education and a safe place for your children, this is it.

The thing that I really appreciate about the teachers is the fact that they want to learn more about the respective cultures of the student body so that they can prepare them for the diverse world that exists outside of the school. My daughter is part of such a warm and welcoming environment, so much so that they even invited parents to come in and contribute towards a special event yesterday to better understand and appreciate the importance of Lunar New Year to my family and the other families that celebrate. As a dad, I will always be thankful for that. Highly recommend.

This is a nurturing environment where children grow in all aspects of their development. Beginning as infants, children participate in circle time each morning and are exposed to a variety of concepts. As children grow into toddlerhood, they are taught to care for their environment by cleaning their space and pushing in their chair as well as for the people around them by using "please" and "thank you" in their interactions. Gross and fine motor skills are worked on at each developmental stage starting with tummy time to using a writing utensil by toddlerhood. Children develop their language skills through music, offered once a week in English and once a week in Spanish. Classrooms are arranged for materials and activities to be accessed by children independently. Children are provided an opportunity to participate in educational activities of personal choice, following the Montessori approach. Every day my child has been at Montessori Children's Center Herndon, I have been confident they are in excellent hands and they are in an enriched learning environment!

I love Edlin, here are the reasons why: 1. Student to teacher ratio is 12:1 2. They teach a language plus latin 3. The teachers are warm, caring and professional 4. Uniforms!!!! 5. The students are taught that they are lucky to be in the position to attend a private school and should help those who are not lucky-this runs counter to Nysmith, I found when I went on the school tour that the director felt the students were "special and elite" and she actually felt the need to tell me that "these are the children of lawyers and doctors" (Dear Nysmith, I am neither a Doctor or a lawyer-are your kids really smart or can they just afford your high tuition?) 6. The students are taught respect for themselves and other people. When the director comes in the room, the kids stand up and address her. In addition, diversity is CELEBRATED, there is no pretence that we are all the same like in Public School. The kids celebrate holidays like Dewali and (thank God!) dress up for Halloween if they choose to. They learn about other cultures which I think is extremely important in our increasingly global society. 7. The lessons arent dumbed down, kids are expected to do well and given the tools to succeed. 8. If a concern of yours, the student body is pretty diverse, though not as diverse as the Reston public schools, but I think this is one of the most racially diverse private schools in Fairfax county. 9. Children are challenged! I found in the AAP program that my daughter was handed a math book but not really taught what to do. She was always told to do her best but not really expected to learn anything, which brings me to number 10... 10. NO TOTAL CONCENTRATION ALL YEAR ROUND ON THE SOLs!!!!!!!!!!! I have always been very pleased with Edlin. This year my daughter is returning after her hiatus.
