LOVE this school! My son transferred to OH from a public school and I must say, he has exceptionally excelled in his reading, writing, and math capabilities. Not to mention, the staff, the headmaster and his family, are all so incredibly kind and an excellent reflection of core Christian values that I want my son to be influenced by. Ms. Weathers pours her heart into these children and my son adores her! She is incredibly sweet and my son always comes home talking about nothing but positive experiences with this teacher. My husband and I enrolled my son in this school. We thought it would be a good experience, a small school that is Christian based. Sadly it was a terrible for our entire family. Everyday when my husband picked up my son, he was notified of some behavior that my son did that was wrong. Wrongs committed included: being reminded to tuck in his shirt, having a messy locker, messy backpack, asking to many questions, writing in an assignment that he thought women could be pastors (he was alone in that thought), and using the word stupid. During his time there a student threw a ball in his groin area, that same student threw rocks at him and almost hit him in the head, and was told by a student he would go to hell because of his, religion, A member of staff told us he thought a student was autistic, not our son. and our son heard a members of staff use racist and homophobic language. My husband and I had a meeting with member of staff. We were criticized for buying my extra copies of his textbooks to leave at home. He questioned why my son wrote math problems in the front of his textbook. When I explained I paid for the book, and that my son could write in the book. We were told our son was rude and disrespectful because we are rude and disrespectful. Not the first time a member of my family was called rude and disrespectful. My husband was yelled at by a staff member when he asked "if our son could do anything right." After I talked about the math book, the member of staff tried to keep it. I politely retrieved the book and explained, we would keep the book as we paid for it. We were also chastised for hiring a tutor for my son and told we were to involved in his education. We were told to move out of the way so the school could do what they needed to do. When we asked about the qualifications of one of our son's teachers, we were told that was of no importance and none of our business. The next day after that meeting, thirty minutes prior to my husband leaving to drive our son to school, we were notified by email the school was not a good fit for my family. And that my son did not need to attend school that day. I am not upset that my son is no longer a student but I think thirty minutes notice is not appropriate or professional. Had my husband not seen the email he would have driven our son to school as usual. The school at no point tried to work with us. He was constantly criticized and bullied by both students and staff. For a five (5) figure tuition we found this unacceptable. My husband wrote a review of the school. We were contacted by a staff member and told that if our reviews were not removed from Yelp, our places of employment would be contacted about the reviews. I am not sure what the person hoped to accomplish with that statement. I do not believe that type of statement is/was a very Christian response. read more

My two daughters have been attending OHCS for 7 years and we have been so thankful for the school. The class sizes are consistently smaller and the teachers are really invested in the children's learning and character. We also appreciate how much on-task learning there is in comparison to a focus on standardized tests. The children are learning and engaged in activities all the way to the end of the school year and also participate in field trips and extracurricular activities after school that really help to build community. Our three children attended this school. We enjoyed the curriculum and the attentive teachers. We were amazed at the quality of their education and what they were capable of achieving at such young ages. Our children all enjoyed the classics and found Latin helpful. Because their educational foundation was built upon what they learned at OH, our children have become mature, successful and responsible adults, college graduates, excellent writers, thinkers, and hard workers. read more

This school is best school ever my daughters got accepted in it. They loved the school. The teachers are so polite and way to formal. Teacher are passionate about seeing their student succeed. They are so great about sharing moments of pride they see.. Their good behaviours and achievement and they know the important of getting the parents involved should an issue arise, and do it in a very respectful,approachable manner. Great school!!! Sending our kids to Oak Hill Christian School (OCHS) was the best decision we ever made. We appreciate that the school uses textbooks which we viewed prior to our kids attending. No iPads at this school! They also require the students read various books throughout the year. Some of the books my kids (5th grade and 8th) have read are Treasure Island, Where the Red Fern Grows, All Creatures Great and Small, Fahrenheit 451, The Diary of Anne Frank and Little Women - just to name a few! Most importantly, the students read and study the Bible all year long. The teachers and staff serve as great Christian mentors to the students. They reinforce the strong Christian morals and values we teach at home. Our kids went to public school prior to OHCS and their transformation has been incredible. They are more confident and they love learning. Our children come home excited to tell us what they learned that day or to show us the next book they are reading. They've also become comfortable with public speaking which is one of the many perks of classical education at OHCS. They enjoy all of their friends from school. They are all such great kids. The tight knit school community couldn't be better! Thank you, OHCS, for teaching our kids how to read, how to think (not what) and how to live for Christ. I usually don't write reviews and this is one of my first ones. This school has been amazing for son. He started this school after being home for 2 years in covid. He started PreK at 4y and within 6months he was able to read. They focused on his reading skills and I was amazed at the rate he picked up. Both my children have been attending Oak Hill Christian School for the past 3 years. My daughter is going to 4th grade and my son - 1st. In the modern world where common sense is becoming more and more scarce and where it has become almost impossible to find a healthy environment where the children can thrive individually and collectively, Oak Hill School has been exactly this place for our kids which has had a huge positive impact on our family life. Our kids come hope happy, satisfied with the work they have done and loving school. Oak Hill provide quality education based on real and proven methods and the students level is a few grades higher then that of an average student. My daughter transferred from a public kindergarten and she was very behind with her reading and math skills. We were worried how she could catch up with the rest of her class, which was already reading fluently and doing arithmetics. Within 3 months my daughter started reading and became good in math. But the most impressive was to watch how much she enjoyed working hard. The joy is part of learning and in Oak Hill the leadership, administration and the teachers understand this and abundantly pass it to their students. We are blessed having found this school and consider it a gem. Parents understand that family life revolves around their children. Our children spend a big part of their lives in school and it will have the second most impactful influence on their lives after their parents.
