    Fantastic par 5 15th hole.

Great course, highly recommended. The layout is scenic, and very challenging. Greens were in good shape, rolling fast & true. Bunkers are deep & plentiful. Our group of 8 all enjoyed this terrific course.

Most fairways look like this all over

This course could be a 5 star review however I hate that I have to leave a 2 star here. Last time I played here was back in high school golf about 23 years ago and from what I remembered then I actually looked forward to playing here. The drive from Bakersfield is exactly like driving down to LA except there is zero traffic here and back. We scheduled ahead of time to tee off first on a Friday in plans of playing 36 holes here. The course condition overall was a 3 out of 5 with most fairways having dead spots or over watered fungus in parts of fairways. Once you get off the fairway with a minimal space of rough grass it's pretty much non playable if you can even find the ball. 5 perfect drives down the middle of the fairway only to never finding those balls for whatever reason. The greens were in great condition except the fact that no one hardly fixes their ball marks here. I think I averaged 4 repairs every green I went on including the second round. Most bunkers from the looks of it were good and the one I played out of was not bad but could have used a deeper rake on the machine which seemed to be compacted from the heavy watering due to summer months I would assume. The drinks at the bar were on pint especially the bloody Mary's and the cart girl was always able to be found about every 6 holes. However the cost overall here is what factored this two star. The condition of the course overall, and lack of maintenance outside of the fairways including fairways minus the greens really doesn't deserve a $115 round as a non resident. The replay fee of $55 was definitely not worth the actual initial price for a round here. This place would be better suited as 4 star if they could drop there price at $45-$55 a round. Two players with a cart at La Purisma which is 10 fold this course is is only $50 a player right now. Most courses twice as good as here in LA only charge $55-$75 a round. I definitely would not play here again unless they cut their rates well below the 50% mark off what they charge now.

Complete trash golf course. Most expensive and worst conditions on the central coast. Golf cart turns off constantly and constant prompts you with dings and beeps that ur 5 min behind pace of play after you let 2somes pass your 4some and had to wait on them. Terribly maintained. Most expensive, least impressive golf course Ive ever played on in the central coast.

    Nothing fancy. Left center Nelson.

From the moment we walked in during this chaos and a hour and 53 minutes in car we felt at home. Easy transaction, easy access to a sanitized cart Course was in great condition, not perfect but greens were consistent. Back 9 bring your game. Almost night and day as far as layout is concerned. Even the personal in Grill were warm and friendly on a hot day.

Pano view from the first tee. I'm not kidding about the views.

It's 16,000 square feet of underground tunnels. As one of the few spots offering complimentary tastings to our complete surprise! This winery is a hidden gem. We loved the selection so much we had to pick up a few bottles for home! Overall Great wines, beautiful views & amazing service! Definitely going back!

Let me preface this with this - I rarely write reviews, and never have had to write a bad one…read moresadly. I believe sometimes companies have off days, and employees may have a bad day, which can affect one's experience, thus I dont let one bad experience ruin a company's review. But when it comes to my CHILD, you best believe i will never forgive and forget or let our experience be forgotten. We visited this winery expecting a relaxing, family-friendly experience and instead left with our daughter crying after being scratched in the face near her eye by the owner's off-leash dog. What makes this especially frustrating is that the winery's own rules state dogs must be leashed, yet the owners' dogs were roaming the property freely. Our daughter was calmly petting one of the dogs with me standing directly beside her when the dog suddenly growled and scratched her across the face. This was completely unprovoked and witnessed by the owner himself, who said absolutely nothing afterward. No apology, no concern, no accountability. An employee later approached us and said, "Sorry, he's old and maybe didn't like that she was the same height as him, which made him react".....which felt less like accountability and more like an absurd attempt to excuse why a reactive dog was allowed to roam off leash around guests and children. We also observed the dogs behaving territorially toward other leashed dogs on the property, making it even more inappropriate that they were allowed off leash in a public setting. My father-in-law is a VERY well known, well respected, and prominent winemaker in Virginia and across the United States, if you know anything about wine, you know him. So lets say, we understand winery culture and hospitality, fairly well. Had something like this happened on his property, it would have been handled immediately and professionally with genuine concern for the injured guest.....especially a child. Watching the owner casually continue on in his conversation with whomever, and pet the dog like nothing happened while our daughter screamed and cried was honestly unbelievable. In my opinion, not worth the visit for the subpar wine, if you want to take your children/dog somewhere. The poodles were friendly to me, and other adults, until we saw their behavior to other dogs & then my child....The complete lack of concern from ownership after a child was injured was shocking. Frankly, they are fortunate we chose not to escalate the situation further. Parents should absolutely be cautious visiting here with children or pets. An off-leash dog with territorial behavior has no place interacting freely with guests. Absolutely shocked and the owner should be ashamed of his actions & response (or lack there of) to the situation.

Free, ample parking and short drive to downtown and all the wineries/tasting rooms. This Holiday Inn Express consists of two separated buildings, with the second building being worked on during our stay. Despite the construction, we did not experience any interruptions. Actually the unpainted walls and some leftover tools were the only indication there was something going on. The free breakfast is in the main building and standard HIE: they had pancakes, bacon, and sausages on top of usual continental options. And a fancy, automated coffee machine. The kitchen staff was working hard to get everything topped off as soon as an item started to get low. I also used the gym, which is located next to the indoor pool and it was good for a quick workout: some treadmills, elypticals, free weights. The check-in and check-out were quick and easy and I consider the price point a good value. We had a nice time and if going to Paso next time, I'll defiently keep HIE in mind.

I walked into the…read morefront lobby area and was immediately greeted by a lonely front desk to the left and huge pile of caution taped boxes being moved on the right. The walls are completely bare, stripped of paint and most of the decor, but penciled-in instructions of what SHOULD go on the wall is definitely still visible. I thought I had made a huge mistake from the minute I walked in. While I was told all amenities are still open and accessible during this time, I think it's important to set expectations. The outdoor fire pit sits directly to the right of the entrance and borders sidewalk... the neighboring view is of the parking lot. The "free breakfast" is nothing like you see on their website. There is no brightly lit room with cute kitchen themed decor... or places to sit. Rather, it is a set of 3-4 chaffing dishes, arranged on a folding table, next to a "coffee station" atop of a random cabinet haphazardly placed just outside the 2nd floor elevator doors. The highly recognizable pancake machine is legit for display only because of the two days I was here it was not functional... very disappointing. The "newly renovated rooms" looked nice... but that was truly where the buck stopped. Upon arrival, the neighboring room happened to slam the door at just the right time that a plastic covering popped off the wall and left exposed wires at eye level. Uhm what?! It is worth mentioning, that I booked a room with two queen beds. The beds are very tall and while comfortable, were horribly squeaky at the base. Even the slightest shift in the bed led to horrible squeaking from the boxspring. And to make matters worse, the walls in the room are extremely thin... and the front door is hollow core (Google it) so you can hear EVERYTHING. Restful sleep? Think again. And unfortunately, it doesn't end there. The bathroom vent fan in our room didn't work so if you take a hot shower, it immediately turns into an unexpected steam room. (Not just the bathroom, the WHOLE room. No joke. Check the windows and you'll see what I mean!) If you move the mixer valve just a little too far away from the hottest setting? Prepare for an instant ice shower. There was seemingly, no in-between. And the best part, If you are sitting on the toilet, be careful if someone else tries to open the door because your kneecaps are doomed. Long story short... my family has officially barred me from making any hotel reservations in the future as a result of this stay, and honestly... I can't blame them. This was one of the toughest hotel experiences I've had in a long time.

Of note, we were never given an option for indoor seating when making our reservation nor when we were seated. After ordering, we received our starter (shishito peppers) within 10 minutes. However once we finished the starter we waited an additional 30-40 minutes for our entrees. There was no communication from the wait staff at all, no refills on water, nothing. In fact in the patio dining area I saw three plates of food (including our peppers) delivered to tables in the hour we had been sitting there. Interestingly the wait staff all seemed very busy and moved around the restaurant but not much appeared to get done. Having worked in hospitality previously I have a lot of empathy for the staff as they seemed to lack direction and management support. My husband ordered the mushroom and scallop pasta. It was okay. Overpriced, but was tasty. I ordered the chile relleno and steak. The chile relleno was filled with a large amount of corn that tasted freezer burnt. My steak was thin and grey and overcooked. It was nearly all grey inside with a couple spots of pink. It wasn't seasoned either. The sauces on the plate were good. Our server was polite and did take it off the menu. However, no manager ever came by to check on us or any other table on the patio in the time we were there. I had high hopes for this place based on the reviews. It was a real let down to have a lackluster food and service experience at "one of the nicest places" in Paso.

I ordered the beet salad and it was honestly the best beet salad I've ever had -- super fresh, beautifully presented, and full of flavor. Total standout. My dad tried the salmon taco, which he thought was just okay. A bit greasy and not something he'd reorder, but still fine for a quick bite. The outdoor seating is lovely -- a peaceful garden-style patio that makes the whole experience feel relaxed and charming. My only wish is that the menu had a few more options, as it's definitely on the limited side. Overall, great ambiance, exceptional salad, the service is fast, friendly; a nice little stop if you're passing through Paso Robles.
