We visited Paso Robles during the last week of the year and scored an amazing deal through Groupon, the Priority Wine pass which offers buy-one-get-one tastings at select wineries. Instead of paying the regular $20-$30 per tasting, we paid $20-$30 for two of us! Highly recommend if you're planning a tasting week or weekend. Still Waters was our first stop, and it ended up being one of my favorites of the trip. The hostess was so friendly, knowledgeable, and attentive. We sat outside on a gorgeous day, and she brought each tastings right to us without ever making us feel rushed. The grounds are absolutely beautiful, peaceful and serene. There's a little back house (now mainly used as a bridal prep space for weddings) and lovely water barrel fountains that really add to the ambiance. Both the whites and reds were excellent. So good that I didn't even need a spit bucket. I would absolutely recommend Still Waters and would happily return on my next Paso Robles visit. read more

My family and I always have a wonderful time visiting Still Waters. The staff is very kind, generous, warm, and welcoming. They are very knowledgeable of their craft and they go the extra mile explaining details about the property, fun facts about the owner and the winery, and all of the vintages and blends that they pour. The vibe is very chill and relaxed. The tasting area is beautiful with many little pockets to enjoy. I visited Still Waters Vineyard on Saturday, July 12 with my partner, hopeful for a relaxing afternoon in Paso Robles wine country. The setting was absolutely beautiful -- the rolling vineyards, the breeze, the golden light filtering through the trees. We were warmly greeted by a gentleman who recommended a fantastic Chardonnay, which I enjoyed so much that we purchased a bottle to enjoy at the winery. The wine was crisp and delicious, and the fellow patrons were friendly and engaging. For a moment, it felt like the perfect afternoon. But all of that was shattered in an instant. As we were leaving, a man, I assume the owner stood down the driveway and shouted sarcastically, "Good, now you guys freed up a handicap spot." The comment echoed across the lot. There was no designated signage, no clear markings, and we had parked alongside everyone else. We were stunned. That comment -- so snide, so unnecessary -- wasn't just rude. It felt personal. It felt targeted. It felt like we were being singled out for simply existing in that space. What he did not know, as we calmly displayed our legal handicap placard while leaving, was that my partner is a decorated combat veteran who was shot in Afghanistan while serving this country. He paid for that placard in blood and trauma. That moment of public embarrassment was not only disrespectful -- it was deeply dehumanizing. I wanted to believe it was a misunderstanding, but from the moment we arrived, I sensed something was off. I even told my partner not to buy a second bottle of wine because of the lingering stares and subtle tension. I am not naïve. I am a proud American woman and I know what it feels like to be somewhere I am not welcome. I wanted so badly to support this business. Instead, I left feeling humiliated, hurt, and profoundly disappointed. We came in peace. We came to enjoy wine. We left reminded that for some, our presence is still a problem. I will never return. And I hope no one else has to experience what we did -- a beautiful vineyard, overshadowed by ugliness. read more

It's hard to compare wineries because everyone has their own preferences on wines. So I'll say this, I liked their wines (especially the reds). However, what made this place great was the huge and mostly shaded outdoor seating area, the very friendly service, and the very heavy pours. read more

I didn't have a high expectation for Still Waters, but left totally pleased with the experience. It's a far off drive off of Creston in Paso. You drive and drive into farms and open land, until...wow. 60 acres. Lovely. Paso, you surprise me again and again. Casual, rustic, a small but nice front room (a little house), and a glorious set of tables and chairs on grass (great for pooches), a stage, and overlooking the vineyards...and...surrounded by trees and total greenery. Loved. The $20 tasting fee (unheard of nowadays) is waived with a bottle purchase. It was a hard decision to choose which one we should buy because we liked all of them! Came here before for a private tasting with the side cars. That experience was great, the man doing the tasting was very well educated and you can tell he was passionate. Brought my emails based off my first experience but I wish we went somewhere else. The man helping us out last time I saw him and he was going table to tables talking and having a good time but we got another man for the tasting. He seemed frazzled and confused, some memory loss. When we got to the end of the bottle for some of our tasting round, it wasn't full enough for even a taste for the last cup. I let it go twice since he did that twice to me. When it happened to my mom, she vocalized that the amount he poured was whatever was at the end of the bottle and there wasn't anything to taste. He proceeded to do nothing and say well other places pour less...it wasn't even a sip so that's where my mom got really upset. He's supposed to go open another bottle and pour the right amount. I wish we could get our money back bc this was a waste of money. We got the large charcuterie board and booked our reservation and board in advance and we still waited 30 mins for it. Some of our guests didn't like the red tastings, he suggested to bring 2 new glasses for the 2 who just wanted to stay drinking white. after waiting 10 mins he came back without the new glasses, after we asked he was confused and forgot about that whole convo and we just said forget about it. He wasn't fully explaining really anything. It was really uncomfortable for everyone unfortunately. I wish we had the other man, I saw him talking and even drinking with other guests, while running around making ends meet. Ours seemed confused and frazzled. read more

If you're into sipping wine with a view, you gotta check out Stillwater, their patio is the real deal with stunning vineyard views. Once we sat down, we were served with complimentary olives and crackers. They grow their own olives and they're super delicious but too bad they don't sell them. We were told that post-covid, they used to host weddings now they are hosting music events instead. We tried their blanc, grenache, merlot, and blend and we were impressed with the wines. We ended up getting a few bottles of their rose, white, and red to take home. Stillwater is one of the best spots for wine tasting. Super chill vibe, awesome wine, and that view is definitely worth a visit! It's dog-friendly and our dog loves this winery too! read more

There's no better place to spend Valentine's Day than wine tasting with someone special. Our first stop on the tour was Still Waters. We were greeted by Lynn and this lady is just amazing! Her fun spirit, great attitude and positive energy was a perfect start to our day. We were offered to any open seating and a plate of complimentary olive tamponade with crackers. The views here are beyond gorgeous, the mascot dog, Rowdy is just too cute and the owner who took time to talk with us and welcomed us like family added to the unforgettable experience. On select days they have fish tacos, live music and other small bites made to order at their outdoor kitchen. We definitely would have stayed longer than an hour and half , brought lunch, purchased a bottle to enjoy there but we had another vineyard to visit in the tour. We truly loved this vineyard, the atmosphere, the people , there wasn't a wine we didn't like and our favorite was the Fisherman's Red. It was so perfect that we couldn't resist taking six bottles to enjoy back home. Definitely add this special vineyard to your wine tasting experience. Most people come to Paso for the wine. We did too, however we will be back because of Nikki. The ambiance was 10/10. The vibe 10/10. But the service can't be rated by a number- it can only be rated by my words, My experience and memory of one of the best times I had for my 40th. When we walked in we were greeted by Nikki and she had the smile to fill the room and the energy to keep us feeling excited. When she found out it was my birthday- and another table had a wedding she wasted no time popping open a bottle of champagne to the whole seating area and throwing a cheers to us. Went on a girl's trip with 11 ladies in May. We selected this location as our one and only wine-tasting stop due to the photos of the outdoor area, and good reviews. We made a reservation, and although not many tables in the shade could fit our large group, the staff was very accommodating in letting us rearrange tables/umbrellas/chairs so we could have a comfortable place to sit. We had extremely friendly service, and ended up purchasing a bunch of the bottles off the discounted list to enjoy while we were there rather than doing wine tastings, since it was a bit more of an economical choice for our group. We were able to bring our own food, so we stayed for a few hours enjoying the setting and each others' company. We had a great time exploring the grounds with lots of great spots for photos. It was the perfect location for our group. Thankfully, it wasn't very crowded so we felt like there was enough space for everyone to enjoy without feeling like we were sitting on top of another party. My favorites were the white wines. We love STILL WATERS!! The staff and the setting are A+++++ A lovely variety of reds, whites, a rose & sparkling rose ~ along with a charcuterie board if desired. You can also bring your own picnic lunch to eat at their lovely lawn area with a beautiful view or inside if you're chilled. The owners and staff are THE BEST. All are warm, friendly, welcoming, fun, informed, not pushy to sell, and a delight to see every time we go there. The "tasting room" lawn and surroundings are so relaxing (fountains, birds singing, shaded or not, a beautiful old olive grove, lines of vines, quiet and tucked back off of Creston Road (near Stagecoach Road). You can bring your (well-behaved) pup on leash. They have water bowls for the furry visitors. In the summertime, they offer fresh garden veggies for a donation, and some fun items for purchase. Confirmation of how incredible the grounds are here. Just beautiful - lush & green. Red grapes ready for the late August crush, flowering plants and tricking water into wine barrels. Gazebos and big umbrellas provide shade and the entire tasting room and grounds encourage milling-about and friendly conversation. Boys loved the corn-hole game as well. Truly an exceptional experience. Planned to come in for an hour or so, ended up staying for 4 hours. We had 2 dogs and 2 babies with us on a cousins 1st road trip and the staff were so kind and accommodating. Nikki was especially great, so personable and nice to our family. What a great hidden gem! Beautiful country setting, picnic tables or small outdoor sitting area for two. Lots of grass around for the dogs to lay on. And the wine was fantastic. We always come up to paso during thanksgiving weekend because a lot of places have Black Friday deals. We found such a deal here at still waters and left with a case of the fisherman's red, a bottle of their olive oil (estate grown and pressed by killer ridge), and a couple bottles of their cab. We had three servers pouring for us, but Ed was our main server who was sweet and friendly! Great service, ambiance and most importantly wine! Also kudos for being dog friendly! My absolute favorite new place! I almost didn't want to post a review because of how GOOD their wine is and want to keep this hidden gem all to myself, but honestly they are too good not to write about. I came up to Paso for my birthday weekend and had to of went to at least 10 wineries and nothing compares... we went to Stillwater the second day in Paso and it was our second winery for the day. Every single wine was so delicious, I couldn't even find a favorite. We don't even live close by but ended up joining a membership as we have a few in San Ynez and decided this one was worth driving out a little further to hang out and drink at for the day before coming home the next day and hitting up our other wineries in San Ynez on the way home I have had many wines in my life so far and from a TON of different wineries and let me tell you... this winery takes the cake. Loved their whites and reds. I can't describe it but their wine actually tastes like real wine and not overly processed and mass produced wine. It has depth, flavor, and zero bitterness or dry aftertaste. It's all about the grapes Thank you so much to our amazing pourer and to the owners for making amazing wine! Lifelong members for sure.
