Let me start by saying I never ever want to leave a 1-star review, it pains me to do this because I know everyone is trying to make a living somehow but if I could help in any way to make a better experience for someone else, that's my goal.
My family stayed at the Visitor's Inn which is where this restaurant is. We didn't have much time prior to the show so we decided to eat here to make things easy. Ok so here we go, there was no air first of all and it's 90 degrees out today with very bad humidity, so we kept our menus to fan ourselves with. Next, we ordered drinks, I got a cream soda....which was red, interesting. The meals for the 5 of us came out 5 minutes apart 2 by 2, and my sister's soup came 10 minutes after our meals when we were almost done. I got the burger and poutine meal. The poutine was not poutine, it was small fries with brown gravy and shredded cheddar/Monterey blend on it. The burger had a fatty piece of rubbery peameal bacon on it, more shredded cheese on a roll. No garnish at all. I took a bite of the burger and noticed the burger was all wavy-like, like when you buy raw ground beef and don't press it, and just cooked it as is so the meat is all stringy and wavy....brutal! I asked for lettuce and tomato and that didn't help, I literally could not eat the burger. I didn't want to be starving at the concert so I ate some of the bread.
This is honestly the worst meal I've ever had in my life. Now I'm not a picky eater although I do like good food, but wasn't expecting anything amazing from this place but I at least thought it could be decent. Maybe it's called The Hungry Traveler because everyone leaves hungry, because the food is not good. I feel bad for the waitress as I know she is trying to make a living, so nothing against her. read more
