I love the chicken and gizzards and I love the owner. She always remembers me and asks how my husband is every time I come in (or asks my husband how I am if he picks up). I enjoy the lemon pepper seasoning on the wings. This is where I come when I am trying to feed a crowd. read more

Shark's. If you were to base your expectations from the yelp reviews, you'd probably skip this place and go somewhere else. I was passed this restaurant by a buddy of mine. And I'm glad he did. Wife & I were in the mood for a durum (Turkish style shawarma wrap) but would be ok with an Arabic Shawarma. Well the closest you get in this area is a gyro. The gyro from Shark's is on point. The staff was very friendly. Everything is made fresh to order. Hopefully this review gets the word out. Mom & Pop places over the big chains! Great flavor, ultra soft pita bread. Fresh veggies. Perfectly flavored sauce. So close to the base, not sure why it's not frequented more. read more

When I initially stopped by this place, I was hesitant. But I'm so glad I went inside. The owners are so friendly and the food is really good. I love the gyros! My hubby loves the philly cheese steaks. For the price of the gyro combo ($7.59) - wrap, chips/fries and a drink - it is well worth it. I highly recommend fellow yelpers to check out the place. Note: The interior definitly needs work. My only negative is that the bathroom seems to be in an odd place and you can see the stock room when heading to the bathroom. read more

Formally known as The No Name Deli is a great place to eat. My first visit here was in 2009 and my wife loved Greek gyros but not me so I didn't expect to like this place. My wife ordered a gyro and she said it was the best she ever had. I ordered a chicken fajita on pita with mustard instead of mayo. When we got our food the pitas were overflowing with meat. Mine was really really good. They came with fries that had Greek seasonings and at first we were hesitant but ended up loving them. They tasted great and was completely different from every other restaurant fries. On that occasion I think I would have given a 4 star rating. However, the service upon returning 4 months later was pretty impressive. (New airman with 2 kids and a stay at home wife at the time.) When we returned my wife examined the menu to order something new but the lady working noticed that I didn't look at the menu and asked if I wanted the chicken fajita on pita with mustard instead of mayo like last time. It had been 4 months since our only other visit and she remembered my order. A few months later I deployed for 6 months so it was at least a year later when we returned and again she called off my order. ( if I find something I love I stick with that every time). My visits are inconsistent and spread out over long periods even with a 2 year gap from PCSing to another base and she still knows my order as soon as she sees me walk in. She not only knows my order but she always asks about how my kids are doing. This is definitely the best place to eat in Jacksonville. The food is great and the service is even better. read more

It seems a norm with all Sharks is that they overcook their fried foods. The best on the menu is the chicken wings. The price is great for the whole wings. They apparently come precooked so they only have to take a quick dunk in the oil and they are done. Finish that off with seasoning that tastes like a combo of salt and onion powder and perfecto. I lived here in Arkansas for 17 year . I'm from aurora il. Never had good Italian beefs like up north where I was born and raised but this place is so good and I've tried all the other food too.
