I'm not a big fan of thick or bready crust, so this was perfect for me. All of the pizzas were pretty flavorful, and I appreciated the variety of unique flavors they offer. The ones with jalapeños definitely had a kick if you took a bite with the pepper, but without them, the spiciness wasn't too bad. The Roman was super flavorful, and the Chile-Honey Soppressata had that nice sweet-and-spicy combo, just like the name suggests. I personally love sweet pizzas, so that one was a standout for me. Staff was cordial and friendly. I ordered the Zapreme and my wife had the prosciutto arugula. I enjoyed the flavor yet the center crust was mushy. My guess is too much olive oil poured on the dough. Being limited on time I did not ask for the pizza to be remade. The Ranch dress is tasty! We tried the gelato as well. It leans more towards an ice cream taste verses gelato. The space was oddly cold inside, which was surprising with the pizza oven going. I got the Driftwood Mushroom Pizza -- cheese was solid (a bit salty), and the pesto was flavorful but used sparingly. The dough under the toppings was extremely thin -- probably intentional, but I'm partial to thicker pizza bases, so it caught me off guard. The crust edges were fine, and the slight sweetness wasn't bad, just not really my thing. Pizza took about 60 minutes, which they quoted accurately. Mushrooms were standard. Wifi was surprisingly strong (~32 down / ~16 up), and the water was good with lemons available. Overall, it had potential, but between the super thin base and light toppings, I wouldn't go out of my way to return. read more

Zaza is a great pizza joint, it has delicious thin crust, wood fired pizza that is worth coming back for! It is not Neapolitan nor East Coast style but really its own thin crust style. I got The Roman and recommend it highly even If you don't typically get a meat lovers pizza. The sausage and pepperoni are high quality and it makes a difference. I would say that one pizza is a good size for the average hungry person. They also have beer and wine and open seating for a relaxing setting. I never know with Zazas. They've changed ordering processes and it does not feel as personable. The food usually stays a consistent quality. Fair portions most of the time, it always feels pricey but may match the quality of the food. Sometimes we have stomach aches after eating here, sometimes it 'hits the spot' and is the best food ever. The Conway location was superb with wings and sandwiches. The heights location is usually full of families with young children, it can be very cold or very hot depending on the outside weather. Nice laidback atmosphere and a covered outdoor seating area. Pizzas and salad were fresh and tasty, with one notable issue which is why I can't give this place five stars. One of the pizzas was a four-cheese, and one of the cheeses was gorgonzola which my friend doesn't like that much. We asked for half the pizza to be no-gorgonzola and they said no problem. The finished pizza was bizarre, because the side with the gorgonzola came out absolutely drenched in oil, like the cheese had broken on that side. The other half was perfect, as was the other soppressata and hot honey pizza we'd ordered. I'm not entirely sure how that happened. Overall though we liked the meal and would go back, and hopefully can chalk up the problem pizza as a one-off. read more

Not sure what has happened but the place is going down hill. Ordered over the phone and told 20 minutes, get there 30 minutes later and they haven't even started on the two salads. Went back to house and came back 15 minutes later to pick up salads, get home and no chicken on the chicken salad. I give up on this place as this is the third time in the last month they have told me the wrong times and messed up the order. Owners or management, someone needs to get there act together. I went to this restaurant off of a recommendation of a friend and it was pretty nice. It's a little tucked away but I was able to find it after a little bit of driving around the neighborhood. It was a very quaint restaurant that was busy on a Friday evening. They have plenty of options regarding pizzas and salads so whatever you like you should be able to find it there. Got the vegetarian pizza, I forgot the name at this moment and it wasn't bad. Due to the high volume of clientele the weight was about 50 minutes. I was okay with this because we could also ordered a Caesar salad as well as a frozen alcoholic beverage. The beverage was pretty nice, it's seasonal, well flavored but I really could not taste any alcohol. The Caesar salad was okay but I really didn't like the meat. It looked very pale and unseasoned. I picked it off and just ate the lettuce, cheese, dressing. I will say they had a really good Caesar dressing. The pizza was okay to me. It was more burnt around the edges than I would like but had a good flavor. Overall it wasn't the greatest but it also wasn't the worst experience. Seed Oil Slop! I asked on three separate occasions what the oil base is for the salads. The first two times I was guaranteed that they do not use seed oils, and instead use olive oil. I have digestive issues and wanted to find a restaurant where I could have a standing order most days. After several months of eating consistently at ZaZa's, I haven't experienced improvements in my stomach issues, so I asked again to confirm the oil base and was told they use soybean oil. Bam! Rating is for a to go order. Was ready when they said it was gonna be. Pizzas were hot and ready. Salad was in a cold shelf away from the pizza so it didn't wilt, smart. They have seating near the counters as well as upstairs. Everyone was friendly! Food: my friend and I shared - Sante Fe South Salad ($13.75): romaine, fried chicken, white cheddar, avocado, black beans, cilantro, cherry tomatoes, corn, red cabbage, tortilla strips with southwestern ranch. I love that they ask if you want half or full dressing in case you don't want it completely soaked. The salad was great, everything tasted fresh and loved the crunch from the tortilla strips. - Green and white pizza ($14.75): fontina, goat cheese, mozzarella, caramelized onion, garlic, lemon, olive oil, roasted mushrooms, pizza. Be warned, the pizza will take about 20 minutes to make and they warn you when you place the order - so highly recommend getting some salad to snack on while you wait. Goat cheese isn't for everyone, but I love it. So creamy and adds such a nice, deep flavor. The pizza is good, probably really good if it wasn't room temperature. I got a pickup order for 7:25, and I was told 12 minutes. 40 minutes later I'm still waiting. They had in fact brought out the pizza, but apparently I have to keep checking in with them or something. Really disappointed in their pickup service, and definitely won't be back for any service of any kind. I'm not happy at all. Oh, and move the stupid gelato counter to a different location and maybe don't have the same person running the gelato counter and also handling the takeout orders. First time to ZAZA and was really wanting some pizza. Saw that they do wood fired pizza, so I went with some friends. There was a lot of people at the time so it was really busy. The line was confusing because it bled over into the dining area and there was an additional like for the gelato and bar that was in an awkward spot...regardless... my friends and I got some pizza which I got the house Italian sausage, another got the marg, and another got the triple meat of some sorts. Honestly, the pizza was just okay at best... not really a lot of taste or flavor. There just wasn't anything special about it that stood out to me. The pizza looked great, but just need a pop of flavor...to be honest, I wish I would of got the salad cause that looked great. I thought I would give a fair shot at the gelato...in my opinion... it was a lower quality gelato compared to others that I've had. I no longer live here, but my wife and I visited Zazas countless times for pizza and salads when we lived in Hillcrest over the past five years. Our favorite pizza is the Quattro Formaggi. We usually add ricotta. We also typically share a half house salad. We love the blue berries, strawberries, goat cheese, greens, and house vinaigrette. The half salad is large enough for a meal for one person. The dining experience is stellar with complimentary breadsticks and water. The soda fountain is self-serve. There aren't many places to visit in Little Rock with healthy, delicious, and affordable food options. Zazas is one of the best places to eat in the city and Hillcrest neighborhood. read more

This was a recommendation from a local drugstore clerk on lower Kavanaugh Blvd. As an out of towner, it was fun to travel up to "The Heights." Driving at night and even with gps, it seemed a little hard to find as it is located in the former theater that existed there. I was so hungry that night, I tried a bit of everything- a salad, pizza, and gelato! This place was hopping when I got there that evening. The outside seating area was almost packed, as was the inside dining, and there was a bit of a line. There were two checkout points, with the main line for food, and the other for spirits, gelato, takeout orders?, etc. Other local diners ordered their spirits in that line to get their order going and then their food and paid together in the main line. One of the customers in front of me gave me other recommendations of things to do in the area as well as what to try. The restaurant has an upstairs seating area as well. It was a nice night, so I took my dinner outside. I ate almost all my salad (delicious) and my pizza was awesome too (took half of it home for lunch the next day). Environment: Very busy....quaint...upstairs and downstairs seating.....outside seating. Inside decor is very nice! Located off of a busy road. Parking somewhat limited (shared parking lot). Service: I encountered two people that weren't too friendly, perhaps they were having a bad day. However, I encountered two really sweet individuals. The lady that helps me with my salad was pleasant and the gentleman that brought out our pizzas was nice as well. Food: Pizza was decent . I got the prosciutto - arugula pizza (with an egg on top). I actually wish it hade more eggs on it lol. I also love a "saucy" pizza, so I guess I should have requested extra red sauce. I also ordered the spinach, bacon, and avocado salad. Dressing was tasty. I also got the froze and gelato. Gelato was ok but the froze was the star of the show. It was absolutely delicious and had the perfect mixture of sweetness and liquor. Unfortunately, once my mom and I got home and settled.....we both had tummy troubles. My mom ate a light breakfast and I hadn't eaten anything all day prior to dining at Zaza's. And not for the better, I'm not sure why I had to order a salad at the register when all the ingredients are on a line I used to walk through? Why can't I see my salad being made anymore? When the final product came out, it was so dry I had to ask for more dressing. If I would have seen the salad being made, I would have been able to ask for more. Loved the taste of their pizza! Will definitely visit again next time i am in town! There is no service other than they bring the pizza to your table. You order everything at the counter and pay there as well upon ordering. The only drawback is they do not offer a side salad, however they offer a $2 reduction when salad is ordered with pizza. Whenever I crave a creative, tasty salad - I come here. The pizza is also amazing, but for me, the salad is really where it's at. My favorite is the Santa Fe South, but I decided to switch things up today and get The Steakhouse. Savory and very filling. They offer half and whole portions - the half is only $2 less and if you can eat the full size, it's worth it to just go full. I never had a bad salad or bad pizza here. It's been a while since I've been here and as I tour central Arkansas searching for pizza, I thought I'd stop in. First, the staff was not friendly, everyone looked up when we walked in but nobody greeted us. We just wanted a pizza but we had to stand in the salad line before we could order. There was only two other people in the restaurant, two women who were in front of us. They ordered customized salads, split the bill, bought a gift card.... It took a while and nobody asked to assist us, even after the salad person was done making them. Finally she looks up and asks what we want and I tell her a cheese pizza and she tells me to tell the cashier. That would have been great if I could have ordered my pizza while the other customers contemplated every vegetable for their salad. 20 minutes later the pizza was decent. Something green was in the cheese which was weird. Nice crispy crust and char but sloppy, floppy slices. Very thin, not much topping, it's basically flat bread with a touch of sauce. Also 25.75 for a tiny cheese pizza, a beer and a sprite felt too high. Go for the salads, not for the service or the pizza. read more

This place has some potential for sure! So we may check it out again in a few months as these places tend to have high volume of turn over with employees and employees make or break every business. Although I haven't found a place in Little Rock where I could just go get a salad, this place would do. They have a create your own salad that was huge, and would be good for a meal by itself. It is pricy for salad but good. My salad was 8.00 just for the Romain and mixed greens to start, and the toppings were an additional 6.75, they went really light on the dressing and then when I went to get dressing to cover the salad, it was an additional.75 plus tax. So the sale was big but cost 15.50 before tax. So yes it was pricy for salad for sure but good. Now for the pizza, I use dairy free cheese and they have it in house, they go real cheap on toppings here and barely give you any, the sauce is okay at best and the crust seems to always get burned, so much of it is not edible. My family ate the regular cheese on their pizzas and they were really greasy and also had the least amount of toppings available for a pizza spot. The dessert is gelato but the names were so stupid and didn't explain anything so we went elsewhere for dessert. Not to mention I stood looking at them for a few minutes and nobody broke from personal conversation to see if I had questions about them. read more
