Hungry Ghost is consistent with their well made drinks and service. I don't frequent coffee shops as much as I use but I find myself returning to Hungry Ghost when I want my favorite: Oat Vanilla Latte. I have also tried their cold brew. They have a points card (10 drinks = 1 free drink). They also offer pastries. The service is always friendly and welcoming. Def one of my favorites around an area filled with a wide range of coffee shops!

The whole neighborhood mourns the loss of Smith Canteen, but a Hungry Ghost has arisen from the ashes to fill the void. If you've ever been in a Hungry Ghost, this location offers the same as all the others: reliable quality when it comes to coffee, tea, and some tasty pastries if you need a little more sustenance. This one is also conveniently located across from the park, in case your stupid baby falls asleep when they weren't supposed to and you need a place to sit a minute, drink some tea, and relax. The staff is nice, too.

11/10 I don't usually leave reviews to places but for this one it's a must. I came in for a simple cappuccino which was great and needed my phone charged and they did me the favor. I overstayed my welcome which I apologize for nonetheless the hospitality was amazing. I don't even live near this location but because of how generous the worker(s) are I'm willing to make the trip! Again thank you so much

Honestly one of my favorite Brooklyn coffee shops, especially because they are SO consistent! They have their own custom Stumptown blend that has very pleasant, mild chocolate and caramel flavor notes, and they also sell bags of Stumptown's single origin beans, which I love. Their pastries can be a little hit or miss, but I like the whole wheat banana bread when I want something on the healthier side. The real clutch move here though is the King David breakfast tacos. They're really good, and already prepped so it's a perfect quick breakfast. Their iced lattes are some of my favorite come summertime, and the aesthetic of their cafes is super cute for when you can sit inside!

Coffee and pastries are good but I mainly come for Julian. Always happy, friendly and just the best!

Coffee is not as good as other places in the neighborhood. They should try improving the taste a lil bit.

The cappuccinos are a hit or a miss. The iced cappuccino is solid. But surprisingly their croissants are delicious.

Just wanted to support a local shop and walked in. Might just be the best latte I've ever had! Not overly sweet. Just right

You must have the Brussels sprouts!! I'd go back for those in a minute! I very much enjoyed my salmon dish. Lovely presentation and preparation but portion a bit small. However, the Brussels sprouts were so generous portion that even after sharing there was "take home" for us. The chocolate mousse was extraordinary! I don't even want to know the calorie count - but worth it!! My one negative was the chill of the Cabernet Yes, I know that's the trend but personally I prefer room temp especially in cold weather The restaurant owner was gracious, staff actually charming and accommodating We are recommending this place to family and friends and plan to return especially when going to BAM ENJOY!!

Walked in and was able to get a seat without reservation, but it definitely filled up by 6/7 pm. The place is dimly lit and the tables are quite small. For the food, we got their Brussel sprouts, shrimp, salmon entree and chicken entree. Our favorite were definitely the shrimp. But everything else when eaten together tasted a bit too greasy and felt monotonous in terms of flavor. Brussel sprouts were fried and held to a decent amount of oil, then the addition of tahini made it even more oily. Pan chicken we expected whole pieces of chicken but it was more like a thin chicken cutlet. The salmon came with a cauliflower puree which tasted so rich (with butter), but I couldn't finish it bc it was so rich.

People have left some odd reviews of this place, including a one-star review for the restaurant…read moreapparently being highly politicized--a vibe I neither felt nor could visually identify within or without the establishment. I ordered a single burger and a Sudan spiced peanut butter latte, for ~$15! That's pretty inexpensive for New York City. I note this as some consider it overpriced. I suppose the food is fairly inexpensive, the lattes slightly higher than average. The "burger" comes wrapped in a homemade pita with diced cucumber, onion, and tomato, plus a few crispy, thick-cut fries and a yummy house sauce. It was a cool twist of the traditional burger and had a nice flavor. The sauce was like a slightly Mediterranean version of Big Mac sauce. The girl working as the barista and cashier was very nice and friendly. She had a nice presence and warm smile, made suggestions, and even gave a stranger free utensils when they popped on to ask. I think it's definitely worth checking out, and it's a good place for a cheap & simple meal that's still quirky and fun.

Perhaps I should have anticipated that, or my mistake in ordering. I also ordered a Moroccan egg salad sandwich which was substantive but surprisingly bland--sparse with the advertised capers and pickled red onions to give it more punch. I've always loved the look of the spot and the vibe--funky decor, outside and indoor facing counters to order, with some outdoor seating for people watching on Dekalb or heading nearby Ft. Greene Park. I see they are renovating and rebranding a bit and adding some burger component. While I didn't love it, I'd definitely give it another shot.
