It's a great way to help the fishermen cut out the middlemen and maximize their profit. I find the prices less expensive than grocery stores. Cash only; nearest bank machine is on Granville Island. It's located at the north end of First Avenue where it meets the south shore of False Creek, near Granville Island. There's also the fun factor: make it a part of a seawall walk & stop at Granville Island Market along the way for your other dinner fixings.

We've had several of the products from here as recently as two weeks ago when we walked down there for an adventure to pick up some shrimp and some jerked salmon jerky. Yes that's right, Jerked Salmon Jerky. YUM. We ate the entire package in one afternoon. The shrimp comes frozen in a bed of ice and needs some time to thaw. But once it is thawed, it's great quality and wonderful in any seafood dish or simply as part of a shrimp cocktail with seafood sauce. This is how we enjoyed our last batch of shrimp. Also available is salmon and assorted white fish. If you enjoy fish and/or seafood it is worth visiting the docks and getting something local.

Spotted prawns when in season, always lots of crab and lobster, clams and mussels and rock cod and red snapper. As a side note they sell cheaper lobster and crabs that aren't restaurant quality because they only have one claw. If you don't know, they taste just as good but for value I always get the double clawed because it's the best eating. I am always the only person here that doesn't speak Chinese but worry not there is always one young guy that you can talk with. I think nobody knows about this place because it has a door with bars on it and a small sandwich board as advertisement. Their prices are fair. This is a great resource for any home cook that is brave enough to venture into the dark and forbidding world of the sea

Always driven by this place on my way to dim sum or Cantonese restaurants on Victoria Drive and decided to stop in and look and was pleasantly surprised they had a whole tank of live rock cod. Live and fresh is always better if you don't mind splurging and the price per pound which included scaling and gutting the fish was fair considering what larger places like Tnt were charging for live rock fish. I would recommend this place if your favourite fish market in Vancouver Chinatown doesn't have what you are looking for, they had a large tank full of live king crab while I was there as well.
