The staff are always super friendly (not gonna lie, I was secretly hoping the dude who served me would asked me out for coffee haha). The vibe from this shop is very happy and upbeat. We've had several of the products from here as recently as two weeks ago when we walked down there for an adventure to pick up some shrimp and some jerked salmon jerky. Yes that's right, Jerked Salmon Jerky. YUM. We ate the entire package in one afternoon. The shrimp comes frozen in a bed of ice and needs some time to thaw. But once it is thawed, it's great quality and wonderful in any seafood dish or simply as part of a shrimp cocktail with seafood sauce. This is how we enjoyed our last batch of shrimp. Also available is salmon and assorted white fish. If you enjoy fish and/or seafood it is worth visiting the docks and getting something local.

Granted, I'm at fault for not paying attention to the grams because if I did, I would have realized it's barely enough for 1 person. In they store they actually tried to justify that this is enough for 2-3 people. I'm willing to pay market value, even more to support a business I like, especially during these rough times. This spot does traditional and classic seafood items so well- lobster poutine, are you kidding me?! How do I inject the lobster gravy from this dish into my veins? My boyfriend and I got a couple dozen raw oysters from the available options and narrowed down our favorites- the Fanny Bay and Kumamoto are fantastic! I got the uni sashimi and umami bomb, and those were to die for. The lobster poutine stole the show for my boyfriend and me, the serving size was generous and very filling. We got so much quality seafood for less than $100 CAD- this would easily go for so much more in the Bay Area.

Being a busier night, it was a little hard to get served even when we sat at the bar; we had to wait nearly 15 minutes before being able to place an order. We each had their Clam Chowder, which was pretty salty to say the least. The addition of real clams did make it tasty, BUT the clams also had a lot of sand... were they washed? This was not a fun soup to eat... It was also served with a crumbly muffin, which was not my favorite. The Mussels & Clams in white wine sauce was tasty, though it had the same issue of being sandy. We also had their Crab Cake - thankfully not sandy here. (I'd be scared if they were...) The crab cakes with real crab were tasty - loved this one! We also had their Daily Shucker's Dozen oysters, which included two smaller ones and a larger one. The large one... was most definitely meaty, briny, and not as tasty as the smaller, sweeter ones. I believe our smaller ones may have been the Fat Bastard and Sweet Select, while the larger one was off menu from Washington. On the topic of busyness, we didn't get our oysters until very late into the meal - nearly an hour. They actually had forgotten our order, and we had to remind them, which they said "soon" until "soon" ended up being nearly 20 minutes! We were told that a shucker was working on it, only to see that tray being sent to another table... sad!

Service was kinda blah, they said the words but weren't friendly like teens forced to do something (I don't think they were teens btw). I ordered the warm lobster roll and a prawn cocktail. Unfortunately, the lobster roll was a letdown. It wasn't very warm, the lobster itself didn't have much flavor, tasted off and the whole sandwich was just kind of dry. Thank goodness I also ordered the prawn cocktail because it saved the meal. It wasn't anything fancy, but the prawns were a good size and gave me something I actually halfway enjoyed. Overall, I didn't have the experience I was looking forward to.
