But the greatest enthusiasm was from one picky General Tso's fan in our group who has been continually unimpressed with the General Tso's from most rural area Chinese takeout places (including the old Hunan Wok in Morrisville) as being too sweet and absolutely no heat. He decided to give Xing Xing Kitchen a chance and is thrilled with their General Tso's Chicken. It's not too sweet and has a bit of a heat kick the way it should - the sauce has actual hot peppers in it. Ordered during lunch hour on a Wednesday in September - walked in to order in person rather than calling in because we didn't have a menu for the new place and could not find one online. Everything was ready in 15 minutes.

The food itself was hot and fresher than many other types of locations. The interior is fine, clean for ordering. I ordered coconut chicken, a dish I am always chasing to find after my favorite restaurant near my old college closed, and was pleasantly surprised by it's lightly sweet flavor. The chicken was not fully crunchy as you'd look for in this type of fried chicken dish but the serving was a good portion and had plenty of sauce. We also ordered steam pork dumplings and shrimp toast... now the shrimp toast is something you should not skip! It was very good, and better than many I have had from other restaurants. Not too oily and had a good amount of the shrimp sauce.

The vegetables in both combos were very fresh but since the sauce was on everything and was just awful. We couldn't eat it. The worst of it all was the lo mein. I couldn't believe how bad it was. I even ordered the house special lo mein, thinking it would have extra flavor or something. I had 1 fork full and couldn't stomach it at all.
