We have been coming here for years and it was always incredibly good until they reopened after COVID. I don't know if the couple that originally owned this place are retired, if they just happen to not be there when we go or if a supplier has changed. The restaurant is small, located in a little strip mall so you have to know it's there to see it. That being said it is very quaint and clean. The staff was very, very friendly and my water glass was never more than half empty. They have lunch specials.... total bill before tip was seven dollars. The eggroll and crab Rangoon were delicious. Well cooked but not greasy. The hot and sour soup was very good. I got Hunan shrimp and thoroughly enjoyed it. I was looking for something a little different. It's been a very long time since I've eaten Chinese cuisine. In doing my research. I kept seeing a lot of people talking up Hunan Garden. So I drive on over and check it out. When I arrive, I step into a small, but warm and inviting space. One of the first things that I noticed was how orderly the place seemed to be. Every chair, napkin, glass and piece of flatware were perfectly placed. I was greeted at the door and taken to a nice and comfortable booth. I ordered a beer and began to study the menu. For the appetizer I ordered "Egg Rolls". For the main course, I ordered, Prawn with Ginger Sauce from the "Chef's Specialties Menu." Sitting back and waiting patiently I am soon rewarded with the egg rolls. Piping hot, crispy, and loaded with cabbage and meat I grab some hot mustard sauce and dove in! After clearing my appetizer plate, they bring out colorful and beautiful plate of prawns and broccoli smothered in a tomato ginger sauce. Now, the menu says this is a spicy dish, I didn't think that it was spicy. With chop sticks in hand, I dig in. The prawns were tender and the broccoli, crunchy and warm all the way through.
