This is THE BEST Chinese food this side of RVA.. we've been coming here for the past 8 years and any time we step outside and try a different place, it just doesn't quite measure up to Hunan Garden. Their spring rolls are to die for and we love chatting with the family who owns it. Consider here when choosing a great place to eat read more

This place was so busy on Christmas Eve that they were taking limited orders. I was hoping the food was top notch for the wait time I had to endure. I really wanted the meifun but was told it would take over an hour so I got the scallops in garlic sauce and an egg roll. I really enjoyed the food and hopefully I can get the meifun on my next trip. read more

Food is very very good and super fresh. You can tell they take great pride in a clean restaurant. I heard from a nearby business they are always cleaning. Only downside is it's a bit pricier than most but it is fresh and tasty. It's our new go to when craving Chinese. read more

Consistently delicious food, fair prices, friendly service. Delivery always is quick. Highly recommend! read more

This is a good restaurant for night you do not want to cook. It is only carry out, good parking and accesible.

Smelled like old trash when I walked in today. I've spent a lot of money here over the years and today I was denied egg rolls due to me complaining about my egg rolls being burned. Wow after almost 8 years of patronage. I will NEVER EVER SPEND ANOTHER DIME. I'm a black woman and they don't like us anyway. Horrible customer service you lost a great and loyal customer today!!!!!!!!! read more

Food is good . No dine in. Smells a LOT like weed every time I come in to pick up the carry out.

Take out only. The food is fresh and the Mei Fun is very good. I find the owner to be very friendly

My son introduced us to the delicious food of Hunan Garden. Hunan Garden is my families FAVORITE restaurant and we have never once had a bad tasting meal from their restaurant. Keep up the amazing work. The price is excellent for the amount of food you receive as well as the quality and service! Thank-you! read more

Awful. Food tasted bad and made us feel bad. Found a hair in the rice. When we called and told them, they had us leave our information but then we never got a call back from the manager. read more

We tried Hunan Garden it was recommended by a few neighbors. We didn't care for it much. It was okay. I ordered spicy lo mein but it wasn't spicy at all. Also didn't like the egg foo young gravy I'm used to a darker more seasoned gravy. read more

Hunan Garden is our go to whenever we are craving quick, Chinese take out. We've been going here for quite a few years now because the food has never disappointed, they have good sized portions, and the prices are reasonable. We can order food before leaving the parking lot at the grocery store and it's usually ready in about 10 minutes after we arrive.we moved recently and we must be just out of their delivery zone which is weird, since we only live about five minutes away, but it's worth the drive to pick up. read more

the food was cooked very well. we enjoyed it. we would go back next time we are in the area. no dine in. front desk assistant was very friendly. read more

Very good food. We get delivery from Hunan frequently and it is always good. Fast delivery. Very courteous. read more

Contrary to what it may look like on yelp, this is a take-out spot with four tables inside. I was actually looking to go to a restaurant, this was not what I hoped it to be. However my kids were happy so I was OK. A tip I use when ordering from a Chinese place is: when ordering fried rice, if you don't want to be given old rice, always asked to omit something from it. My go to is to omit onions because I do not like onions. This will force them to make you fresher rice, or at least not as old as the original fried rice. I was surprised that when I asked to omit onions I was told that they could not do that. Now I'm wondering, what if I really had an allergy to onions? My son ordered the general tso chicken and I had the shrimp and fried noodle dish. There was way too much sauce on the fried noodle dish. There were big chunks of chicken in the chicken dish, but not all of them were fresh pieces. It was mixed with older chicken. If I'm in the area I would not go back here. However if you're doing takeout, take advantage of the discount through Yelp. You cannot get this discount if you eat in. read more

Of the last 5 Chinese Restaurants I have ordered out from, (my order is usually Shrimp w/Chinese Mixed Vegetables)..Hunan Gardens at Centralia and Rte 10 has served the best dinners I have had in a long while... The staff always welcomes you and in a friendly manner...I am 15 minutes from the restaurant which luckily is closer than the other Chinese restaurants...Thank you Hunan Gardens for adding a little light to this place !!!! read more

This used to be our go to place. The last two times we have eaten our meals, we've gotten ill afterwards.

Love Love Hunan! Our favorite go to! Every time, our food is hot and fresh no matter what we order.

This business is closed except for takeout. I don't know much about the food or service because we didn't want takeout. There is no ambience because you can't eat inside. read more

My family loves going to Hunan Garden. The owners are always so nice and the food is the best in Chester!

Hunan Garden is what I call a expected, but not a bad restaurant. It has the usual Chinese restaurant menu, but with the option of delivery, they're a step ahead! It's quite small inside, so it's quite cozy inside. I typically stop by when I'm craving Chinese food for lunch. The prices are fair and on par with other competitors. I typically order the General Tso's Chicken, but will occasionally switch it up for the usual sweet and sour chicken. The foods here from what I've tasted and seen are good. Though it maybe of lower quality (what do you expect for the price), because a lot of dishes tend to be "over-sauced" and a bit too greasy for my liking. Most Chinese places cook their dishes like this, so it's not particular to just this place. Overall it's decent. It fills you up because of portion sizes, fair prices, and Chinese food is always good once in a while. Not a place I'd eat at everyday as I'm sure I'd get sick of the sauces though. If you're craving for some fair-priced Chinese food for lunch, this isn't a bad place to try. read more

Hunan Garden - Raw meat and eggs shells very nasty and very rude. - Chinese Near Me - Chester, Virginia

I think this is the first time Yelp reviewers have failed me. Don't waste your time or your money here. The lunch meals come in little lunchable type boxes. No egg roll. No soup. No brown rice. I guess you can get the regular meal for more money. It's a little hole in the wall that you would think was nicer from the outside. Tried two of the lunch menu items. Thought it might be meals for two days. First the General Tso chicken. It was sweet and syrupy. No spice. Chicken was tough and chewy. The beef and broccoli wasn't any better. The meat was like minced, pre chewed dog treats. But on a positive note, the rice was good. read more

Love thé wonton soup and the lo mein here delicious and worth it I alway buy those when I go there and the egg rolls are to die for!!

One of the better choices for Chinese food in the Chesterfield area, I have ordered take out from here several times and the food seems to be pretty consistent. Currently it is take out only fyi. I'm not a fan of their lo mein , the beef and vegetables were really good, sesame chicken kind of bland compared to others I've eaten. Prices are reasonable. read more

Great place. The food was fresh and not weighed down by grease and seasoning. The rice was nice and airy, with a hint of flavor, not doused with soy and called fried rice. The General Tsaos wasn't just Orange Chicken with spice, totally different flavor... Great place. read more

Not Impressed at all. Looked at the reviews and thought hey this place sounds like the food is really good! I ordered the triple delight. The guy who was behind the counter when I picked up my order was very friendly. I didn't like the fried rice it had no flavor whatsoever. The sauce was salty and there wasn't a lot of meat in the meal. There were only 2 shrimp in the meal. The carrots were cut way too big as well as the onion. My daughter had the Mongolian Beef which I tasted a piece of beef and it tasted like it had been cooked in a burnt sauce or something. I wouldn't recommend this place, the prices are too high for the small portions that you get. read more

Great service. Portion size was on point. Various dishes and excellent flavor. Good prices.

Hunan is a small reliable Chinese American restaurant in Chester. Family owned the staff is kind and friendly. I usually get the fried rice both house special or chicken. Rice is flavorful without too much soy sauce unlike others in this area. It's not NY or Boston's Chinatown but pretty good nonetheless. Hubby gets beef & broccolli & he's picky. I prefer takeout so I am not focus about the small space. Just pretty basic simple good food. read more
