Great food! Very accommodating to special orders. I used them to feed our family Christmas Eve! Most likely will do it again this year!

Food was cooked very well, crispy chicken!! Most Chinese restaurants fail at this!!!! and pretty tasteful! For 4 of us was about 64$. Ambiance was calm nice instrumentals for music, quick service! Highly recommend more than other Chinese 3minutes away with cheap no dine-in option. Will be back again read more

Decent food and their stir fries is no where near as oily as most places. Even their soups are light and again. Or oily. We love that place just wish that they would open the eat in portion as they are still stuck in Covid mode. They also do not deliver any more not even a door dash partnership that I am aware of. The only food complaint is they must have changed chefs or recipe for Gen Taos chicken. My son says it make his throat itchy and gives him a reaction so we have to give him Benadryl and now don't order that at all. He is allergic to nutz but they swear to me not nuts are in there. Something if off. Bring back some sort of delivery and fix the gentaos please read more

Went inside to dine in with my family and the lady was very very rude. She said they weren't doing the lunch buffet today I said that's fine and then rudely pointed to a table for us to be seated. My husband and I decided to leave because of how rude this lady was. Definitely will NOT be coming back!!!! read more

Ordered takeout. It was picked up and woman called complaining we hadn't picked it up. What happened was we were given the wrong order. When I called back she hung up on me. Not only was it the wrong order it was more expensive. If this is the way you treat your loyal customers don't expect to be frequented again. read more

Great Chinese food . I've always been pleased with their food. Very fresh, and tasty. The delivery service is always quick and often arrive before the scheduled time. read more

Ordered General Tso chicken combo with pork fried rice. The service was well I went inside to order no issue. The restaurant setting seemed real relaxed calm music playing. My food was made quickly let's say 10 minutes maybe a little more. Food was hot however the pork fried rice was bland with large chunks weird tasting pork throughout. Absolutely no broccoli as usually added to this staple would have brought the meal together better. The chicken was spicy but cooked well. Eggroll included with the combo was kind of insulting. Way smaller than I was expecting think larger cigar instead of smaller hotpocket for reference. Taste was bland almost void felt unseasoned. Also no forks were included for this to-go order that was tied up already. read more

I ordered 2 chicken and broccoli meals and an order of fried rice. I received 2 things of BEEF and broccoli and an order of Shrimp fried rice and 2 egg rolls. Unfortunately, no one the food was ordered for likes beef, shrimp or egg rolls. So that was a wasted meal. read more

Excellent food which has been consistent for at least 2 decades. Staff is friendly and service is quick.

For our first time we ordered several different meals just to get a sampling. All of the items were ok however we did find a staple in one of the meals. read more

I recently ordered food from Chan's restaurant ~ General Tso's chicken and steamed dumplings. The General Tso's chicken so very tough and could not even chew it. The steamed dumplings were gristly. I threw the dinner away and will not return to this restaraunt. read more

I've been ordering from Chan's for years now and I'm always satisfied with the food and service. I ordered delivery today and it arrived fairly quick. Def recommend if you're in the area. read more

Over cooked chicken and egg fu young. Missing rice and the wrong meal also. STAY AWAY!

I ordered General Tso's chicken and chicken lo mein both combos. This is probably the best General Tso's I've had in sometime. I asked my son if he enjoyed his and he said it was the best he has had! read more

This is the 3rd time I have gone there for dinner and now all three times have been extremely bad. 3 strikes and they're out. Ordered shrimp egg foo young and it came out burned on the bottom. All three pieces. Told the waiter and he tried to insinuate that I didn't know what I was talking about. Told him to take it back and redo it. Re-order came came back right. Very rude and and arrogant waiter. This place has gone really gone down hill in the last year. My family will not return. read more

Small family owned business that delivers pretty decent Americanized Chinese food. I've gone here few times with my family and we leave happy majority of the times. The price is very fair, the quality of the ingredients are decent, and plenty of parking space. Their menu is pretty diverse and their staff are very polite. Last time I went here we got beef fried rice, shrimp with garlic sauce, and rainbow duck. All the dishes except the duck came out pretty fast. We had to wait about 20 minutes for the duck, but that's not bad at all. The food tastes great, we had a great meal. This place is better than your average Chinese take out establishment. If you're in the mood for some good Chinese, I totally recommend coming here because it's worth the time and money. read more

Their food is great!!!!! They put a ton of meat and seafood in your dish!!! I love it

After a nearly 4 year absence of good Chinese food, it was indeed divine guidence that led us to Chan's. This restaurant has a small footprint in the strip mall, but what it lacks in external visability, it more than makes up for with wonderful quality food at very a reasonable price. We have visited Chan's several times a month since we discovering it and have varied what was ordered nearly every time. From the curry chicken, rich in flavor, but not overly spicy to orange chicken, general tso's chicken, etc, they delivered each and every time we have visited! To top it all off, the shrimp chips that are presented upon entry with a nice sweet duck sauce are among the finest I have ever tasted! Oh yeah, for a family of 3, with drinks at lunch costs just a fraction more than visiting the local fastfood establishments! The combination of product quality and family friendly pricing make this a must visit establishment. read more

I went here for a late lunch on a Friday. There was only one other table with customers when I was seated. All of the dine-in lunch specials are $5.50, including either soup or drink. I chose the General Tso's chicken and Hot-and-sour soup, and water to drink. What's the least likely part of that order to mess up? That's right - the water! The water tasted strongly of petroleum. I'm not sure if it was the water or the ice, but it was not drinkable. When the server came with my food, I complained. I'm not sure she understood, but she said she would bring me another glass but it would be the same water. Much less ice this time, still tasted strongly of oil. The soup was good, with lots of mushrooms, but not especially spicy. The chicken was also tasty and fresh, and spicy enough for me. (If you put an asterisk beside a menu item and tag it "Spicy," I expect it to be spicy. Many places have wimped out to people who only think they want heat, but don't really. The chicken wasn't bad. All during my meal I kept wondering what that taste was -- was the water contaminated? something leaking in the ice maker? Did they prepare the soup with that water? Wash the dishes with it? The staff obviously knew about the taste but continued to serve, and did nothing to rectify my complaint. I got my fortune cookie and check, paid, and left. I won't be back. read more

There should be a zero star. My girlfriend uses this place. She cooks great and knows what good food is. How she eats this "kimchi" is beyond me. First time I ordered for delivery Kung po chicken. That's fried peanuts, a sundry of vegetables and sautéed red hot pepper or the chefs special hot sauce. Don't forget the caramelized stir fried chicken. Chan didn't get the memo. I did actually find roasted peanuts in the bottom of the bowl. I think that is what they were. I didn't find them anywhere else. The veggies were under cooked. They committed the carnal sin. No hot pepper! No heat. No classic charing or flavor. I do not know what the meat was. I do not recognize it as chicken. I know chicken. I learned to pluck, quarter and bone when I was ten. I ate lots of chicken back when chickens had skin. Poor naked chickens. Thank God they never made me chop them! It did look like some kind of meat. I do not know which part of the anatomy. My girlfriend had beef something. Shoe leather? I tried to chew it. Even she did not eat it. On the way home from mom's I made the mistake of calling my girlfriend and asking if she would like some carryout. Not being from the area I stopped at Chan's to give them a second chance and avoid Mr. Androids search (lazy). I tried Chrispy Orange Beef. I expected thin sliced flank or some other simi tough cut marinade and tenderized, lightly breaded and fried in the Chef's signature sauce. Chan's teletype must have been down the day they sent him the recipe. The meat was a ball of gristle heavily breaded and deep fried. Rubber. The oranges were still in Florida. Chan's uses the cheapest meat possible. I believe the Chrispy chicken is organ meat. I have had things like it in China Town. It definitely was not steak. There was no lean in any of it. Gristle. The place was filthy. The cash register grubby. It has a certain "ode DE rot". The dingy decor is fortunately dimly lit. The crowning jewel is the lady that took my order. It is obvious English is not her primary language. It's okay, I can point at the menu with the best of them. The moment she opened her mouth it was clear she is in the wrong line of work. Rude. If you like paying sit down, large thick table napkin, metal spoon and glass of water price for meat that is inedible (I do not say organ meat lightly). This is your place. The horrible food and filthy dinning room are only Eclipsed by the less than friendly experience. I will never return. The only redeeming value I can find is the delivery was prompt. Pretty easy to do when you don't spend any time on the food. read more

Good food, good price. Our 1st visit was worth the stop. Small wonton soup was very good with about 4 wontons. Egg rolls were also good, more of a spring roll wrapper, light and crispy, they were a little greasy. My wife's choice of four seasons was a good one, nice presentation and taste great. I ordered the Mongolian beef. It was good flavor with a tasty sauce. The beef was good, but could have been a little crispier. The problem was it was over loaded with onion. I like onion, but there must have been a full medium onion. Service was very good. Although only two people covering pick up and the dinning room, they did a nice job keeping up. We will be back as it is close to home and a quick solution for a meal read more

We were quite excited about this place going in as it has been quite the struggle to find decent Chinese food here in the tri-cities area. I'm here to tell you...we're still struggling. The service started off just mediocre. Nothing too much to say about it, but then the place just went downhill. I received my Coke and it tasted like dishwasher detergent mixed with Coke. A friend of us opened her napkin up to find hair in it, and finally to top it all off when we got our to-go boxes one of them had actually been recycled as there were smudges of sauce on the inside... The food was extremely mediocre. I had a sunset something dish which was considered to be one of the chef's special. It was described as a mix of shrimp, chicken and beef with lemon sauce, sweet and sour sauce, topped with a fruit medley. Um...yea that fruit medley that they talked about was literally three canned pineapple chunks loosely scattered on the plate. The taste was just subpar... We most definitely won't be going back to this place...good game Chan's good game. read more

Excellent and quick Chinese food place at very low/decent prices. Service was friendly and efficient. Very clean and calm. If you're looking for quick American Chinese food this is undoubtedly an excellent place for it. I found the food surprisingly good - whether in portions, taste, or quality - for its price. read more

We went there last night on a whim, we were in that part of town. Pleased with the service, and the food. We had the Pu-pu platter, it was all good but the ribs were just huge and perfect. I had fried dumplings, nice and crispy. The hot and sour soup was spicy but I needed a little vinegar I do like it good and sour, no probem the server brought some right out. Entrees: The pork fried rice dish was also huge and there was plenty of pork. The mo gu guy pan was better that most, nicely seasoned but not swimming in sauce, and my hubby liked that all the pieces really were bitesize for the chopsticks. Plenty of places don't get it small enough. A fairly wide selection of Thai and Chinese dishes. Reasonable prices too. We will be back - read more

Best vegetarian option south of the river. Usually get some kind of curry with tofu. It's always a 5/5 no matter what I get. When I was eating meat I loved the orange chicken. Can't think of a better place to eat in Chester/Chesterfield. Can't for the life of me figure out all the poor reviews, been going here forever and love this place. read more

I needed something fast and came across this place. Honestly, I prepared myself to dislike it but was ultimately just trying to get some food in my stomach. I ordered the Mussamum (yellow curry chicken) and was blown away. Very tasty! However, I didn't like the woman's condescending attitude towards me. I'm sure most black customers know what I am talking about as far as that goes. Anywho, the food was great. read more

Chan's Restaurant - the menu of the restaurant - Chinese Near Me - Chesterfield, Virginia

Tried them again due to Hunan Garden not opening til 4pm. Ordered the chicken and broccoli with shrimp fried rice combo and some chicken wings. Food arrived within expected time frame and looked great however there wasn't any flavor....in anything. Again, it looked great, not too dry or too greasy , just nothing had any flavor. Not the broccoli, not the chicken, the shrimp, the rice or even the wings. Will not be returning. read more

The food doesn't taste great, they brought out egg rolls instead of spring rolls and the meat was very chewy. If you want Chinese food go somewhere else. read more

This is a fantastic find!! Not sure about the bad review(s) here, maybe they have changed something? I just ordered for the first time, last week, and came back for 4 more orders: all dishes were great! #30 on the dinner menu, shrimp and veggies: OMG! I think they put 1 lb. of shrimp in there! Mid-large sizes too: I kept finding more and more. The veggies are crispy and fresh tasting. Not too much salt either. We also ordered Chicken Panang - dinner: HUGE container!! Good for at least 2 people or more, if you eat little! Rice is cooked to perfection too. Their beef fried rice is probably one of the best. They also deliver (not sure how far) for only $2 more. No eat in, needs to order and pick up. Super fast and friendly too. We used to drive far away to get better Thai/Chinese foods: no longer!! This is a great deal. And oh, lunch menu is incredibly cheap too - cheaper than junkie McDonalds! Comes with soup and/or drink and rice. read more

I've visited Chan's often for lunch over the years... Disappointed in the service today though. I tried something new for lunch, but didn't like it. When I told the waitress I didn't like it, she suggested that my husband and I switch. I told her that I'd like to order something else and she said she wouldn't waste the meal because it was mine. She then told me it's not their policy to offer to replace a meal, so if I ordered something else I'd still need to pay for it. I wasn't in the mood to argue and lost my appetite after even having to have this conversation, so I sat there while my husband ate his meal, we paid for both meals and left... we will not be back. read more

Ordered delivery. There was a hair in my hot and sour soup (short black hair---I don't have short black hair). They would not refund the soup, but offered to give me free soup if I came to get it. Why would I want to eat their soup now? Not going back. Their food was mediocre at best, and that's being nice. Chester doesn't have great Chinese food, and now I have one less place to go. read more

So I have worked in Chinese restaurants most of my life, and when my fiancé and I moved to the Chesterfield area we looked around for ordering food. We tried a couple of places before Chan's but have been continually impressed with their food. The delivery is almost always before the time they set, the food is great, and they really pay attention to the customers needs. I recommend the Mei Fun! read more

Absolutely great food. They brought out wontons and sweet and sour sauce like it was chips and dip (free). Great service and food. I got the general tso's chicken and fried rice. Great fried rice and chicken. Recommend to anyone. read more

Having become a fan of Thai cuisine within the past year, I have been on the hunt for a Thai place near home. Before discovering this place, I would have to venture into Carytown or drive up Chippenham to the nearest restaurant that I knew would produce quality Thai food. I received a menu for Chan's in my mailbox one day and initially scoffed at it, until I saw some Thai items on the menu! I was sold because it's only minutes from my home. I've been twice so far, once for Pad See Ew and once again for Pad Thai. On both occasions, the food was hot and fresh. It seems I got a slightly larger serving of the Pad Thai (though the same type of container was used, which is plastic and reusable, unlike traditional Asian food cartons). The shrimp I got with the Pad Thai were pretty big and fresh. I plan to go back whenever I'm home in chill mode and get a craving for Chinese or Thai. read more

They made my to-go order wrong and wouldn't deliver the correct food. One of our plates had several disgusting hairs in it, so obviously their cooks don't use hair nets. And there was a big spider inside of the bag of food they gave me. I would NOT recommend eating here...seriously avoid it at all costs. You'll thank me! read more

This is (or was) my absolute favorite Chinese restaurant. The egg drop soup was my favorite. Today I ordered the ginger chicken lunch with white rice and egg drop soup. Half the chicken was raw and I had some sort of raw fish in my soup. It was inedible! I was polite when I called and asked if they changed what was in the soup because I have a shellfish allergy and got incredibly ill from the soup and was hung up on twice. The same person who kept answering said they were the manager and I've been going there for many years and knew it was a lie. I still highly recommend this place before today but whoever made the food this morning is sending me to the hospital. read more
