We love that place just wish that they would open the eat in portion as they are still stuck in Covid mode. They also do not deliver any more not even a door dash partnership that I am aware of. The only food complaint is they must have changed chefs or recipe for Gen Taos chicken. My son says it make his throat itchy and gives him a reaction so we have to give him Benadryl and now don't order that at all. He is allergic to nutz but they swear to me not nuts are in there. Ordered General Tso chicken combo with pork fried rice. The service was well I went inside to order no issue. The restaurant setting seemed real relaxed calm music playing. My food was made quickly let's say 10 minutes maybe a little more. Food was hot however the pork fried rice was bland with large chunks weird tasting pork throughout. Absolutely no broccoli as usually added to this staple would have brought the meal together better. The chicken was spicy but cooked well. Eggroll included with the combo was kind of insulting. Way smaller than I was expecting think larger cigar instead of smaller hotpocket for reference. Taste was bland almost void felt unseasoned. Small family owned business that delivers pretty decent Americanized Chinese food. I've gone here few times with my family and we leave happy majority of the times. The price is very fair, the quality of the ingredients are decent, and plenty of parking space. Their menu is pretty diverse and their staff are very polite. Last time I went here we got beef fried rice, shrimp with garlic sauce, and rainbow duck. All the dishes except the duck came out pretty fast. We had to wait about 20 minutes for the duck, but that's not bad at all. The food tastes great, we had a great meal. This place is better than your average Chinese take out establishment. After a nearly 4 year absence of good Chinese food, it was indeed divine guidence that led us to Chan's. This restaurant has a small footprint in the strip mall, but what it lacks in external visability, it more than makes up for with wonderful quality food at very a reasonable price. We have visited Chan's several times a month since we discovering it and have varied what was ordered nearly every time. From the curry chicken, rich in flavor, but not overly spicy to orange chicken, general tso's chicken, etc, they delivered each and every time we have visited! To top it all off, the shrimp chips that are presented upon entry with a nice sweet duck sauce are among the finest I have ever tasted! Oh yeah, for a family of 3, with drinks at lunch costs just a fraction more than visiting the local fastfood establishments! I went here for a late lunch on a Friday. There was only one other table with customers when I was seated. All of the dine-in lunch specials are $5.50, including either soup or drink. I chose the General Tso's chicken and Hot-and-sour soup, and water to drink. What's the least likely part of that order to mess up? That's right - the water! The water tasted strongly of petroleum. I'm not sure if it was the water or the ice, but it was not drinkable. When the server came with my food, I complained. I'm not sure she understood, but she said she would bring me another glass but it would be the same water. Much less ice this time, still tasted strongly of oil. The soup was good, with lots of mushrooms, but not especially spicy. The chicken was also tasty and fresh, and spicy enough for me. (If you put an asterisk beside a menu item and tag it "Spicy," I expect it to be spicy. Many places have wimped out to people who only think they want heat, but don't really. The chicken wasn't bad. All during my meal I kept wondering what that taste was -- was the water contaminated? something leaking in the ice maker? Did they prepare the soup with that water? Wash the dishes with it? The staff obviously knew about the taste but continued to serve, and did nothing to rectify my complaint. I got my fortune cookie and check, paid, and left. I won't be back. read more

There should be a zero star. My girlfriend uses this place. She cooks great and knows what good food is. How she eats this "kimchi" is beyond me. First time I ordered for delivery Kung po chicken. That's fried peanuts, a sundry of vegetables and sautéed red hot pepper or the chefs special hot sauce. Don't forget the caramelized stir fried chicken. Chan didn't get the memo. I did actually find roasted peanuts in the bottom of the bowl. I think that is what they were. I didn't find them anywhere else. The veggies were under cooked. They committed the carnal sin. No hot pepper! No heat. No classic charing or flavor. I do not know what the meat was. I do not recognize it as chicken. I know chicken. I learned to pluck, quarter and bone when I was ten. I ate lots of chicken back when chickens had skin. Poor naked chickens. Thank God they never made me chop them! It did look like some kind of meat. I do not know which part of the anatomy. My girlfriend had beef something. Shoe leather? I tried to chew it. Even she did not eat it. On the way home from mom's I made the mistake of calling my girlfriend and asking if she would like some carryout. Not being from the area I stopped at Chan's to give them a second chance and avoid Mr. Androids search (lazy). I tried Chrispy Orange Beef. I expected thin sliced flank or some other simi tough cut marinade and tenderized, lightly breaded and fried in the Chef's signature sauce. Chan's teletype must have been down the day they sent him the recipe. The meat was a ball of gristle heavily breaded and deep fried. Rubber. The oranges were still in Florida. Chan's uses the cheapest meat possible. I believe the Chrispy chicken is organ meat. I have had things like it in China Town. It definitely was not steak. There was no lean in any of it. Gristle. The place was filthy. The cash register grubby. It has a certain "ode DE rot". The dingy decor is fortunately dimly lit. The crowning jewel is the lady that took my order. It is obvious English is not her primary language. It's okay, I can point at the menu with the best of them. The moment she opened her mouth it was clear she is in the wrong line of work. Rude. If you like paying sit down, large thick table napkin, metal spoon and glass of water price for meat that is inedible (I do not say organ meat lightly). This is your place. The horrible food and filthy dinning room are only Eclipsed by the less than friendly experience. I will never return. The only redeeming value I can find is the delivery was prompt. Good food, good price. Our 1st visit was worth the stop. Small wonton soup was very good with about 4 wontons. Egg rolls were also good, more of a spring roll wrapper, light and crispy, they were a little greasy. My wife's choice of four seasons was a good one, nice presentation and taste great. I ordered the Mongolian beef. It was good flavor with a tasty sauce. The beef was good, but could have been a little crispier. The problem was it was over loaded with onion. We were quite excited about this place going in as it has been quite the struggle to find decent Chinese food here in the tri-cities area. I'm here to tell you...we're still struggling. The service started off just mediocre. Nothing too much to say about it, but then the place just went downhill. I received my Coke and it tasted like dishwasher detergent mixed with Coke. A friend of us opened her napkin up to find hair in it, and finally to top it all off when we got our to-go boxes one of them had actually been recycled as there were smudges of sauce on the inside... It was described as a mix of shrimp, chicken and beef with lemon sauce, sweet and sour sauce, topped with a fruit medley. We went there last night on a whim, we were in that part of town. Pleased with the service, and the food. We had the Pu-pu platter, it was all good but the ribs were just huge and perfect. I had fried dumplings, nice and crispy. The hot and sour soup was spicy but I needed a little vinegar I do like it good and sour, no probem the server brought some right out. Entrees: The pork fried rice dish was also huge and there was plenty of pork. I've visited Chan's often for lunch over the years... Disappointed in the service today though. I tried something new for lunch, but didn't like it. When I told the waitress I didn't like it, she suggested that my husband and I switch. I told her that I'd like to order something else and she said she wouldn't waste the meal because it was mine. She then told me it's not their policy to offer to replace a meal, so if I ordered something else I'd still need to pay for it. I wasn't in the mood to argue and lost my appetite after even having to have this conversation, so I sat there while my husband ate his meal, we paid for both meals and left... we will not be back. read more

This is a fantastic find!! Not sure about the bad review(s) here, maybe they have changed something? I just ordered for the first time, last week, and came back for 4 more orders: all dishes were great! #30 on the dinner menu, shrimp and veggies: OMG! I think they put 1 lb. of shrimp in there! Mid-large sizes too: I kept finding more and more. The veggies are crispy and fresh tasting. Not too much salt either. We also ordered Chicken Panang - dinner: HUGE container!! Good for at least 2 people or more, if you eat little! Rice is cooked to perfection too. Their beef fried rice is probably one of the best. They also deliver (not sure how far) for only $2 more. No eat in, needs to order and pick up. Super fast and friendly too. We used to drive far away to get better Thai/Chinese foods: no longer!! This is a great deal. Having become a fan of Thai cuisine within the past year, I have been on the hunt for a Thai place near home. Before discovering this place, I would have to venture into Carytown or drive up Chippenham to the nearest restaurant that I knew would produce quality Thai food. I received a menu for Chan's in my mailbox one day and initially scoffed at it, until I saw some Thai items on the menu! I was sold because it's only minutes from my home. I've been twice so far, once for Pad See Ew and once again for Pad Thai. On both occasions, the food was hot and fresh. It seems I got a slightly larger serving of the Pad Thai (though the same type of container was used, which is plastic and reusable, unlike traditional Asian food cartons). The shrimp I got with the Pad Thai were pretty big and fresh. I plan to go back whenever I'm home in chill mode and get a craving for Chinese or Thai. read more

This is (or was) my absolute favorite Chinese restaurant. The egg drop soup was my favorite. Today I ordered the ginger chicken lunch with white rice and egg drop soup. Half the chicken was raw and I had some sort of raw fish in my soup. It was inedible! I was polite when I called and asked if they changed what was in the soup because I have a shellfish allergy and got incredibly ill from the soup and was hung up on twice. The same person who kept answering said they were the manager and I've been going there for many years and knew it was a lie. They made my to-go order wrong and wouldn't deliver the correct food. One of our plates had several disgusting hairs in it, so obviously their cooks don't use hair nets.
