I ordered house special fried rice. Only thing special was the grease and it had a whopping two shrimps and very little chicken pork and it was just so disappointing. Egg rolls used to be good but they seem to have become vegetarian cause their pork egg rolls have VERY lil pork. Only positive was the fried wontons. The guy there sucks but the girl is nice and if you go in and complain you get no where. read more

Placed an order for Barbecue spare ribs and pork lomein. I got home and opened the bag to this. I immediately called and reported the food. I also ordered chicken wings ( not pictured) and the smell of old grease engulfed my car. When I called I was told there was nothing wrong with the food and this is the pork that all Chinese restaurants are using. I told her we have ordered from them several times in the past and have never received food like this. She said if I wanted a refund I had to drive alll the way back and bring the food back. I did. Upon arrival she grabbed the bag and began to tell me AGAIN that there's nothing wrong and this is how all the Chinese food restaurants are serving their food. I will let pictures speak for themselves. We will not be returning. read more

China Wok - Chinese Near Me - Chester, Virginia

Despite living in Chester for well over 2 years this is the first we've tried China Wok. While we don't eat Chinese food often we like having solid option(s) nearby. I called in for takeout at noon. The telephone ordering process was cut & dry and I was glad that when I asked I was assured that they don't use MSG. I ordered General Tso Chicken & my Wife ordered Chicken w/Garlic Sauce. The food was ready when they said it would be. Despite the drive home, the egg rolls were hot, crispy and the ingredients tasted fresh. Our food was piping hot. The fried rice wasn't salty at all & actually tasted like rice. We definitely have China Wok at the top of our list of Chinese restaurants for next time. read more

China Wok - General Tso's Chicken - Chinese Near Me - Chester, Virginia

I ordered food and specifically asked for no vegetables in anything (boyfriend has allergies) when I arrived and checked my food they added carrots( which he's allergic too) I told them about his (deadly) allergy ,they simply told me to remove the carrot. when I told them he'll die ,the cooks in the back proceeded to catch an attitude and trying to dismiss me and my problem. now I'm wait an extra 30 minutes for food because they couldn't follow a simple instruction. I'm just upset how a life was in danger but they carried it like another burden that's annoying their day. don't eat heard value ur life read more

STAY AWAY! First let me say that just because there's a supposed pandemic, and these folks feel a need to build a plexiglass fortress to stay open doesn't mean that they should be rude. The girl at the counter(?) is the face of this business and she may have the worst customer service skills and approach in history. Not a 'Hi', or a 'Thank You' or even a 'Screw you'. I haven't felt so unwelcome since that one time in Memphis (but, that's another story)... The place is filthy for starters. I'm starting to wonder if I will wake up in the morning. Eating and serving surfaces seem okay, and there is only plastic to eat with, so sanitary conditions may be okay. The food was actually pretty good. It does not make up for the service and atmosphere, but pretty good. I would suggest that if you try this place, call ahead for take-out, so you can spend as little time in the establishment as possible. Your experience will probably be much better. read more

Eggrolls are mushy, orange chicken disgusting, my wife was sick for 2 days after taking one mouthful of the pork and vegetables. We confirmed the prok smelled rotten, something was definetely wrong. Reported it to the VDH. Needless to say we will never get food from here again and we do not reccomend it to anyone. read more

I had shrimp fried rice. It was extra greasy and the rice was way overcooked. I gave this place 3 chances and they struck out!

Ordered a pint of fried rice. Only ingredients were rice and bamboo shoots. I was shocked. Usually there's also other goodies, carrots, scallions and egg. Not here! I had to pay extra for egg. Cost me $5.76. Without the egg dish cost $3.75. Was very bland. So disappointing. read more

I had brought the order back to them and had told them it was wrong she rudely said i dont want to remake it and here's your money back. When I had went to order something else to add she said i don't want to take your order good bye and left. read more

My go to Chinese! Food is flavorful and hot! People who work there are friendly and quick. It's not gourmet Chinese food, but for takeout Chinese it's tasty! read more

Bad customer service and food is extremely salty. I asked for pork Fried rice she said it my meal does not come with it? Couldn't you add it!! Plus I was trying to ask her for hot sauce and she was ignoring me Do not recommend it! read more

The worst Chinese food I ever had in my life! I got the general tso's chicken combo with lo mein. The sauce was salty and the chicken was decent but the egg roll was terrible it was hot tonight the outside and cold on the inside and was very mushy. The lo mein was the worst item out of everything it was so salty from the soy sauce that I had to throw it away it was disgusting. I love Chinese food but that was the worst food I've ever had from an establishment in a while. read more

I came across this place accidentally while on a business trip in the Chester, VA area. I'm from NY/NJ area and am picky when it comes to Chinese food. This place was a close match to what I remember as the "real deal". I ordered the fried chicken wings w/pork fried rice combo. The wings weren't very flavorful but the rice was what I'd remember from back home. I'd be a return customer if the opportunity allowed. read more

China Wok - Fried chicken wings & pork fried rice combo. - Chinese Near Me - Chester, Virginia

So far this is the best Chinese we've found in the Chester area. The garlic chicken was nice and mildly spicy. The General Tso's was crispy, spicy, and sweet. The egg rolls are okay. The rangoons were also only okay. Their house sweet and sour sauce is weak. The amount of white rice provided with entrées is skimpy, but that isn't a deal breaker. All in all we were pleased enough that we'll go back for more. read more

Called in for delivery, which they do not offer- so decided to take out. The shrimp fried rice didn't have any scrambled egg, the shrimp and broccoli entree was oily and flavorless, and finally entire reason I even tried this spot-for the moo shu on the menu- they didn't even make! It was the very first thing I said!! read more

We enjoy China Wok perfect distance from our home & delicious food. We have enjoyed our food every single time. Thank you China Wok!

Its the same typical dive chinese place that drowns the food in flavorless sauce. There is no flair to it, just bland. The pork fried rice was horrible! Egg roll was worse! Not going back! read more

Never order the Bourbon Chicken! It has a funny smell and taste horrible. Our egg rolls were overcooked nearly burnt. We did love the General Taos Chicken. It had a great kick to it. read more

If I had to rate this place . I would say that it is mediocre . Because the food does not have a lot of flavor . It's okay if you're starving . read more

This place is a hidden gem. The food is delicious and very moderately priced. It's pretty odd that you have to get the good at the counter and use plastic utensils. I recommend the shrimp egg foo yung. read more

This was my first time eating at this location. I got the egg drop soup and steamed pork dumplings. My friend got the bourbon chicken lunch with fried rice and wonton soup. The egg drop soup is very thick and eats like a meal. I think it's pretty good though just needed some pepper. The dumplings are decent especially if you dip them in a side of general Tso sauce. My friend did not like the bourbon chicken at all. I tried a piece and it definitely left a funky after taste. Even the smell is off putting. It's not the best or worst but not sure if we would go back with plenty of better options in the area... read more
