Ok so I get it.. Chinese food isn't meant to be gourmet.. but this place is the worst we have had anywhere. It began with the lady taking orders. She was incredibly rude and short with us. I get that people have bad days so we overlooked it and would've been happy if the food was decent.. but sadly there were so many issues.. let's start with the hot and sour soup. We noticed it tastes really bad and has an odd odor and flavor but we power through due to hunger.. only to make it 3/4 of the way to find pork in it. We do not eat pork. The general tsaos sauce was very different and had potential, but the chicken was old and somehow simultaneously mushy and chewy with a not so delightful microwaved flavor and smell. Couldn't eat that, so we decided to try the mei fun.. nope.. tasted like old oil and the noodles were hard.. we tried to get our fill of the Rangoon, only to discover the same old oil flavor.. we gave up and threw it all out. Not only were we charged way too much.. we requested an upgraded side that we paid extra for, only to not receive it. We are here for lunch one day. The restaurant is small and only has 2 tables; I guess most of their business is from takeout. They had a decent lunch menu with about 20-25 selections; of course you could order off the regular menu too. I got the lunch General Tso's chicken. It came with rice (choice of fried or white) and either soup or drink. The food was good, so was the rice and all this for about $10. It's not a fancy place but it suited our needs and we liked the food. I would go here again. read more

I ordered an organge chicken combo from here. The cashier lady is an older Asian woman. She was extremely rude and slammed my card down on the counter ordering me to sign the receipt. She kept eyeing me as I got a fork while she was running my card. When I got home and opened up the container, I saw dark hair all in the noodles and a few pieces that look like bug legs. Full disclosure: I've only been here once and had one type of entree. This is a no-frills take-out restaurant. I had sweet & sour chicken. The rice and sauce were ok, but the chicken pieces were over done/fried and dark brown and some of the pieces had no meat in them. I love other Tops China, but this one gives it a bad name. The cashier was rude, the spring rolls were hard and tiny, but what got me was the fried noodles. They are so easy to make at the store, but these were definitely shipped. Awful. The ambiance was nonexistent, boxes of ingredients that was ordered, left us curious as what they were used for. I have been eating takeout from this Tops location for years. However, last week my son, his gf and I ordered about $50 of dinner to be delivered. It was terrible. Son's sweet and sour chicken was delivered with a spicy sauce, not the usual tangy red sauce that comes with the dish. I ordered an old friend, Hunan Chicken. It was so spicy I COULD NOT EAT IT. The only flavor was my burned tongue and mouth. The third dish was ok - not great but it was edible. Go figure. In addition to the entrees we also ordered egg rolls and thought we had ordered spring rolls. We got 2 mushy, scantily filled egg rolls and 2 eh shrimp egg rolls. Neither is anything I would have ordered had I known that something was OFF in that kitchen! Who was cooking?! To top it off, we received no utensils or condiments. No forks, no chopsticks, no duck sauce, mustard or soy sauce packets. I had just moved in and nothing was unpacked and available. Fortunately I had some paper plates and plastic forks. To say that this was The worst experience ever is probably not totally true since 1.5 dishes were edible. We called Tops and if possible they could not be less interested in making it right. To be fair(!) they offered new food if we drove the food back to them! That was after it was mostly inedible and delivered late. If the person I talked to had been pleasant and/ or apologetic, i would give the location the benefit of the doubt. Rude and uncaring is NO way to talk a customer, someone whose continued business you want. This is my first ever scathing review. When you walk in a place at lunch time and it's so empty, the staff is sitting in the back eating, that should be a sign. This is some of the worst Chinese take-out I have ever had. I got Singapore Mei Fun with chicken and fried wontons. First, the wontons are so blatantly frozen, I could tell before I even bit into one. Hard, stale and the "meat" inside looked like pureed raisins. The sweet and sour sauce was also thick and syrupy and tastes canned. The Mei Fun noodles - wow. I know they're spicy, and I like them which I why I order them. This was not "spicy," this was covered-in-spice-so-thick the noodles were gritty in the mouth and the spices overwhelmed everything in the dish, including the huge pieces of onion. I was also not provided with any utensils, napkins, soy sauce or other condiments, or a fortune cookie and there were none out for me to get on my own. I'm only choking this down because I paid for it, and I'm hungry and my lunch is only 30 minutes, but I will NOT be back. Disgusting and disappointing. read more

The food is amazing, beef and broccoli is hands down the best i ever had, along with their giant eggrolls. The customer service may not be the very best, but people need to realize the culture difference, plus the woman is straight forward not rude, and when the food is this amazing you look past the cons. We go often for work lunches with about 8-10 people and we always have a great experience. The only reason for our 4 stars is that we went one time and they wouldn't put out any egg rolls on their buffet for us that day. Otherwise, the food always comes out hot, fresh and usually they will make something upon request. Their lunch buffet with a water is 7.50 (i believe that includes tax) -- we order to go also and we always get amazing food! We usually say it's hard to mess up Chinese, but this place always delivers quality for us. read more

The blatant disregard for health precautions at this place was astounding. There were three employees there when I placed a take out order. One wore a mask while ringing me up, then went back into the kitchen and took it off. Two other employees were cooking with no masks and bare hands. One man was rolling dumplings with his bare hands. The same employee who rang me up handled all my food, including frying it herself, with no gloves or mask on. In between cooking and packaging my order she was eating a plate of food. After our normal Chinese restaurant switched owners and the food started sucking we have been trying to find a new favorite place. This place is not necessarily our favorite but it works in the mean time. Food is ok, I like that they give you reusable containers. Prices are normal...but customer service sucks. I'm realistic......most Chinese food places lack customer service but this one is worse than others. The lady is RUDE...on the phone and in person. Mediocre food that will do if you are just craving basic Chinese food. The lady behind the counter is not very friendly and I once found a piece of plastic in my food. I had noticed the top of the takeout container was cracked and missing a piece and I found it in the container. Solid Chinese takeout. I order from here at work all the time, and judging by how long deliveries take, I imagine they are always busy. I'm glad they deliver though, and their delivery drivers are nice. Their selection is pretty generic as far as American Chinese food. Don't expect a huge assortment of vegetables in any dish. Dinner food seems like it is leftovers from the lunch buffet. Not nearly as good as the Tops off of Hull street and 288 (no buffet there).
