One of my favorite dishes is Wongton soup so comforting like a nice warm hug. Terrible. Inedible. So greasy. Borderline slimy. A definite no. I suggest you look elsewhere, even McDonalds.

It took 40mins to get our food- I did order when they opened so maybe they needed time to heat the stove/grease up so I wasn't holding it against them this time. The egg rolls were some of the best I've had, the fried dumplings dough was thick and hard but tasted good, my chicken and broccoli with fried rice was some of the worst I've ever had and my husband said the same about the lo mein - the egg drop soup was good but could be considered over salted- unfortunately I won't try them again which is sad because it's right by my grandmothers house and easy to get to. read more

I ordered vegetable fried rice. Wow. If you want a lot of onions and broccoli in your fried rice, this is the place for you. I spent most of my evening picking them out of my rice. Oh and also bean sprouts. They really overdid it with those. Would love to find a good place for fried rice with just carrots, peas, some onion, and egg besides my kitchen when I don't feel like making it! I don't really recommend this unless you really like all those vegetables mentioned and don't want eggs in your rice. I also ordered a spring roll but my son ate that . The crab rangoons were the first ones I've had anywhere around Chester that actually tasted like crab and weren't just mostly cream cheese. They were okay, too. read more

Had a taste for some egg foo young and this place was on the way home. The inside is shabby, but most takeout Chinese resturants I've been are. I ordered shrimp egg foo young, beef and broccoli, 1 egg roll, and fried dumplings. The portions are huge! The egg foo young came 3 big patties that look DELICIOUS at first glance. However, the patties are in a good bit of oil. I know they're fried, but I feel they could have been drained off a little longer. I probably could have fried up another patty in the oil that was in the bottom of the container. The gravy had the right thickness and texture. Inside the patty was cabbage, carrots, shrimp, bean sprouts and onions. I've never had egg foo young that has bean sprouts in it. I don't have anything against bean sprouts but it was an overwhelming amount of bean sprouts in the patties. The egg foo young had a very watery taste to it, it really lacked flavor. The gravy however was excellent. I wish I could just order gravy and then order the egg foo young patty from another place that I like and make the perfect egg foo young. The egg roll was alright, it lacked flavor like the egg foo young patties. Hubby said the beef and broccoli taste more like Mongolian beef and that the beef was overcooked. He said the pork fried rice it came with didn't have a good flavor and it had a ton of bean sprouts. The dumplings were ok. The filling on the inside tastes just like a Jimmy Dean sausage. I'm convinced that that's exactly what it was. I give them 1 star for the gravy. I'll get my Chinese food fix from somewhere else next time. read more

The worst dumplings I've ever had. The lo mein was the best thou - for take out. The teriyaki chicken sticks were cooked perfectly. The general Taos shrimp, was just over battered & overcooked shrimp separate from the sauce, neither were good. read more

We got chicken wings with shrimp fried rice x2. The rice was very dark brown, now I would think it just had lots of soy sauce but I didn't taste it. It had LOTS of bean sprouts(don't like), green onions and onions. The chicken wings were good, regular. read more

So tried this place for the first time. My General Tao chicken was over cooked and hard. Wife's food was also bad! Never again! Don't waste your money and don't pay any attention to the good reviews. Triple 8 Chinese is on Rte 10 in the village of Chester in the almost empty plaza next to Wells Fargo and, as always, is serving delicious and affordable Chinese food. The food is always well prepared and tasty and the portions are generous. Our favorites are the steamed and fried dumplings, egg rolls, pork lo mein and sesame chicken. They are wonderful people and could really use a lot of support as they reopen and recover from the forced shutdown. read more

It is about time I left these hard working chef's a review. We moved to Chester two years ago now and we are so grateful we found great Chinese around the corner! Both of us and our families are originally from New York where we regularly find good Chinese food, and when we all get together we are so happy to have the best Chinese food since leaving 15 years ago. We ordered take out last night. I got home after a long day and found out the chicken in the General tso's was bad. I called and they said bring it back up so she could check it. I was tired so I didn't go then. So I took it back today after work. The manager said I didn't bring it back last night and kept smiling, I said it doesn't matter I brought it today and explained it was bad. She acted irresponsible and unconcerned. I had the whole meal minus about four bites.I will never eat at this dump again period. read more

Well... generally speaking the food is good and not too pricey. But if you get my order wrong I shouldn't see you picking the wrong order apart for reuse components in making the correct order and lord knows if you reuse the other components to make someone else's meal. I get it, restaurants are a hard business and profits need to be maintained but if the orders wrong it's wrong you can't take it apart and put it back together again. read more

We have gotten Chinese food from them for over 15 years. Steamed dumplings are the best, love their General tso, family likes their egg rolls and vegetable rolls, my dad loves their crab Rangoon sticks. They are always friendly and chat awhile with us, food is fast and good prices. read more

This is a great family run place. They are quick, affordable, and there food is consistent and better than the local competition. I recommend the sesame chicken and the mongolian beef. There egg rolls are some of the best i have ever had....only complaints would be some of there sauces are too sweet for my taste and the crab Rangoon's need more filling in them....check this place out for a very filling lunch or dinner for around 5 or 8$ respectively. read more

Do not reccomed going here. Me and my husband went here. We ordered dumplings and we took one bite and it looked looked like dog food. It didn't even taste or smell good. The dumpling were made of a really thick flour that didn't even look fresh. We also I ordered vegetable soup and spicy soup, they gave us to go soup containers for our soup. Even though we told them we were eating there. We didnt even have the right utensils to get our soup out of the container.
