Came here to watch Oppenheimer. Definitely upped the experience for me here. The screen is HUGE and…read moreI appreciated how the aspect ratio would change during the movie to fit the scene better. It really made me feel like I was INSIDE the movie. It was right in your face. I was lucky enough to get there early and was able to get in line early and get good seats - upper middle. I think this is the best seat. I imagine it wouldn't look as good if you sat really low or really on the edge though. There's no reserved seating so make sure you come here early. Also, the seats are really packed in tightly so once you go in, it's hard to get out. Get your bathroom break and concessions in early! Will be back here for Dune!

Had I known that it was going to be THIS packed, I would've shown up like an hour earlier! Secondly and this is huge, the fuckin seats don't recline. Do you have any idea how much my back hurt, sitting in tje fuckin neck-break row (The very front row) For THREE HOURS watching  DUNE 2??? Having said all of that, let me explain what I DID enjoy about my experience at The Boeing & PACCAR IMAX Theater at The Pacific Science Theater. It is the 2nd largest IMAX screen on the West Coast. The screen itself is 60 feet high by 80 feet wide & was introduced in 2015. The sound system is digital & is all encompassing in this somewhat dome-shaped theatre. After leaving the theatre, I am now considering getting a bigger smart TV (75-85 inches). The BEST addition, in my opinion, is that they have recently started selling craft beer & wine. Only local breweries & wineries so they are helping local businesses as well. Which is VERY fuckin cool. Now, would I recommend this theatre after all the bitching I just did? YES. NOW that I know what to expect, I can plan accordingly. Plus, this theatre has such a dedicated crowd of regulars. While I was there, it was apparent that a lot of these people enjoy seeing movies there and that made it suck a LITTLE less.

I would like to say the best thing about theater is the people who work there. The worst is that…read morethe bathrooms are only on one floor (in between the two floors where the movies show). I am in a wheelchair so it's a pain to go up and down and wait for the elevator, which can be slow at times (and I had to cancel a trip due to the elevator being down one day). Other than that, it's usually quite clean and the food is usually hot and ready. However, they only have concessions on one floor, and there was a time I had to skip refreshments as no one was at the counter, I think they were in the back putting up new stock, and I had to leave due to my movie starting. A few times I missed out on specific food items as they were either totally out, or they didn't have an extra employee to go to where they stored it to get more. Understanding, but disappointed. I've worked retail all of my life, so I know how those things can happen. I would say they need to get new carpet, but that is a small quibble. I noticed a few people comment on the drink area being a mess. Usually, this is the direct result of rude customers, not cleaning up after themselves or not watching their children. Usually, the issue doesn't last long. It does get cleaned up. But if you are one of the people who are following the rude customers, you probably, don't care. You're just upset with what you are walking into. Just politely let one of the workers there know and I'm sure you they will tend to it right away. Unfortunately, the employees can't keep an eye on all of the customers all of the time, so, politely letting them know, will help them fix the problem. I recently moved close to the theater, so I am taking full advantage of their unlimited program. Very nice. I will say the selections of the classic movies, that are for one day only, can either be great or very lackluster. And for some reason in the summer, they don't show the extra movies (classics). The quality of the movies coming out can be rather hit or miss and lately, they have been more miss than hit, so it's always nice to have a classic movie to fall back on. I love how they show older B&W movies since TCM is no longer available to me. But I also love all of the classics from the B&W era through the 90s and even more current movies that have been out of the theater more than 5 years or so. It's always a great way to catch up to everything I missed before. I love movies. I have a huge physical media collection, but nothing replaces the magic of the Big Screen. Big pluses are the staff, the theaters are nice, 4DX is great (and even though you have to pay a surcharge if you have the unlimited pass, it's only a fraction of the full 4DX price). I would recommend if you go more than twice a month to get the unlimited pass, as it's a definite bargain. I would highly recommend this theater.

If I lived in Seattle I would be frequenting this Regal theater!…read more I moved from the Boise Idaho area to Puyallup, WA at the beginning of the year and one thing I had been missing from my time in Boise was seeing movies in 4DX! if you don't know what that is, it's an intense and thrilling amusement park style movie format with seats that move like a ride, and special effects like scents, water, flashing lights that happen throughout the movie! It's my favorite cinema experience and worth every penny but sadly Washington state only has this format at this theater an hour away from me. Me and my cousins were having a girls day in Seattle though and I suggested we see the new Michael Jackson movie in 4DX- it was incredible! I will return whenever possible to see a film in 4DX!

Go to the corner of Republican Street and Warren Ave N (use directions for the restaurant "Taylor Shellfish" at 124 Republican St and you're there). Walk into the park from this entrance (August Wilson Way), and after a minute of walking your first right will be the SIFF building. It's tucked away and once you see it through the window, you have to make another left to get inside. Now for the review...I'm obsessed with SIFF and every cinephile in Seattle should support them, but I really recommend you visit their Egyptian theater in Capitol Hill or their Uptown theater in Queen Anne over this location. If the movie you want to see is only showing at the Film Center, be prepared for less comfortable seating and plan to show up early to find the theater. Google Maps takes you to the wrong spot (unless you follow the directions above) and there's no signage. Pros: + An impressive slate of art house, wide release, and seasonal film fest picks in line with SIFF's overall line up. Often there will be SIFF films that are only show here. + Many in person/virtual film appreciation one-night class opportunities. I took an awesome week night session analyzing The Shining that was pretty cheap and reminded me of college film courses! + No noticeable issues with the screen or sound. I've enjoyed every movie I've seen here...once I got there. Cons: - Hard to find location, with no signs directing you where to go. Google Maps will take you to the Space Needle, this is not where the theater is. During my first visit, I found myself wandering through the park in the dark for 15 minutes with no signs for SIFF in sight. This is like that college class that you can't find on the map your first day of a new semester. - Very small theater that's less charming than other ones hosted by SIFF. Following this college theme, the Film Center feels like an old school stadium style lecture hall. - Uncomfortable, creaky old chairs with no cup holders. Tips: * Punch in the address for the restaurant "Taylor Shellfish" which is at the corner of Warren Ave N into your maps app to park in the right spot. Cross the street to enter the park, SIFF should be one of the first turns on the right. * I've heard anecdotally that they don't let people in 15 minutes after the movie starts.
