This week's team pick led us to try out the Hummus Republican. Overall rating: B+ Food: I had a chicken shwarma pita with chickpeas as a base and the zesty feta. The chicken was excellent. We've tried some other nearby places and the seasoning on the meat was very well done. I did have a disappointment - I ordered Kalamata olives on my pita and it was served with black salad olives (which I do not enjoy). I also ordered a jalapeño tahini dressing on the side (thankfully). It was very bitter and I skipped it (the sandwich really didn't need it either) Ambiance: the most odd thing ... for a Mediterranean restaurant, they were blasting country music. It was extremely loud and didn't match the vibe of the restaurant Menu: it's basically pitas, grain bowls, or wraps. You can essentially build your own at the kiosk. LOVE!!! Of the many places available to grab a quick bowl in the area, I'd say Hummus Republic is at the top of the list when it comes to flavor. Stopped by here kind of on a whim, and I was not disappointed. We were heading home on a day when the rain was coming down very heavily. We wanted to wait out the storm but didn't want to chance going somewhere where there would be a wait. We also had a taste for something fresh, so I hopped on Yelp and came across this place with pretty good reviews. When we walked in, a woman was leaving and complimented one of the employees saying, "I'll definitely be back." At that point, my expectations were a little higher. Like a lot of places, the concept is simple: pick your base (rice, greens, etc), protein, veggie toppings, and sauce/dip toppings. I chose the field greens and kale as my base, chicken shawarma, plus cucumber, tomato, roasted pepper/garlic/onion blend, zesty feta, tzatziki, crumbled feta, olive oil, and spicy green sauce on the side. The chicken was full of flavor and wasn't dried out at all. The sauces were really good, too. The flavors just came together really nicely, more than some of the other more common places with this model (including the other place that has crazy feta). My husband really enjoyed his meal as well. We've been back once more since our first visit. I ordered pretty much the same thing, except for my third "dip" I chose hummus instead of getting a second helping of the zesty feta, and I added crunchy chickpeas on top. Delicious delicious delicious! It was fresh and oh so tasty. I got a pita with three types of hummus spreads. I added the Halal chicken as my protein and a variety of veggies stacked high and then a mixture of two of the red sauces drizzled on top. I know one was red pepper tahini, and I don't remember the other. A couple of things, the location is a bit hidden. It's at the end of a shopping center and the font style doesn't make it easy to spot from at the other end of the complex. It just looks like a green blob until you're right in front. It's located right next to small cakes though. It appeared to be a mom and daughter running things when I went around 1:30pm on a Wednesday. I mentioned it was my first time and the daughter was pleasant and very helpful in describing how everything works. One thing I didn't like is that they don't have prices listed on the menu board. No one wants a surprise at the register which is not really fair to consumers during this economic season. You should be able to see the price independently and quietly decide which item you'd like to purchase vs the prices being called out to you. Another downfall is that they didn't have Wi-Fi and I would've loved to eat there and continue working but I won't let my ratings reflect non-food related issues. We stopped by with a party of 6 (5 adults and a toddler) at 6:15 pm on Sunday, 8/4/24. In a strip, plenty of parking. They didn't have high chairs when we went. Checked in on Yelp and got free side of falafel (5 balls). The falafel was really good! The employees were all very friendly. I got the Chicken Shawarma Bowl ($14). Same concept as Cava or Sweetgreen--able to customize and choose hummus and spread, toppings and dressings. The portion was very generous! I was able to get 2 meals out of it. If I had been hungrier though, I probably could've eaten the whole thing. I also tried the Moroccan Steak Bowl. Both the chicken and steak were really good! The sweet potato fries ($5) were also delicious. Everyone in my party enjoyed their meal. Others had falafel and the mushroom shawarma. We have been here 6 times and every single time, the food is hands down 10 out of 10 delicious. The ingredients are all fresh to order and the portions are more generous than CAVA, but it's there authentic Mediterranean flavors that keep us coming back. Everything I've tried is mouth watering. If you like CAVA you will love hummus republic... way better quality, way better taste. Truthfully, there's no comparison. Hummus republic takes the gold. We used to get the bowls (which I couldn't finish because they are so big... this time I tried the lemon chicken pita and it's so tender ans flavorful. The saffron rice is yummy and make sure to top whatever you get with garlic tahini.... The owner has been there every time we've been and the attention to detail including the way they put together the bowls and wrap the pitas make you feel like you're getting a custom meal from a private chef. If you haven't tried this place you're missing out. We highly recommend. Next time I'll post pic of actual food, but it was so good I ate it up before I remembered to take pic! read more

I came across Hummus Republic when I dropped by Sublime Doughnuts. I'm always in the mood to try a new spot, so I grabbed dinner to go. The restaurant's concept is like Chipotle, but with Mediterranean items. The staff member who took care of preparing my bowl was awesome! My bowl included garbanzo beans, traditional hummus, chicken shawarma, red onions, tomatoes, beets, cucumbers, tabbouleh, and more, with a side of dolmades. Everything was absolutely delicious and tasted healthy and fresh. Even the portion size was perfect! I'll definitely come here more often. read more

The food was ok, but the whole experience of getting my food and being there just turned me off. I was in the area and just happened to see this place and I was like, okay, let's give it a shot. I placed an order at 4:41 a got and email saying my food would be ready between 4:51 and 5:01. I walked in at 5:05, I did not get my food until almost 5:20. Mind you, no one was there, I mean quite literally it was me and the two people working there. I checked in on Yelp, and noticed they had a coupon for free Falafel. I showed one of the works, and she said ok. Thought I was good right? Wrong, the other worker who was older came up about 5 minutes later and asked me to show it to her again for the manager who she was on the phone with, and unfortunately I couldn't, because I had already marked the offer as used. They still gave it to me, but it was just annoying. Was really turned me off about this place was the health score. It was an 83, and it looked like it. Mess everywhere, and there was a smell of straight sewage in the air. Honestly sad to say I will not be back at this location ever again. The food was tasty and flavorful and the chicken was tender. They had a variety of toppings to choose from and everything looked and tasted fresh. Stopped in for a quick lunch. It was between here and Willys. But I really really wanted hella veggies. So I landed on this. I spent $20 here is what I got: Bowl (couscous, kale, steak, fried eggplant, taziki, harisa hummus, eggplant hummus, chickpea croutons, fried onions, fried eggplant, cucumbers, onions, tomatoes, olives, cabbage) plus a lemonade drink. I think it's a bit pricey for basically CAVA. But today, I didn't care. It was good and tasty and very clean. Which is what really drew me in, I wanted to try it. The steak is chewy, I wish I would've gotten chicken instead... it's rare that chicken isn't good at Mediterranean fast dining places. It's beautiful here. And I DO enjoy the strawberry pomegranate lemonade. Everyone was friendly and kind, so the service was good. I gave it 4 stars cuz it isn't as flavorful as I would prefer. My coworker and I had come to the area for.lunch at another restaurant but when we got there it was not open yet. We noticed this new restaurant (Hummus Republic) a couple of doors down and stepped inside to look at the menu. Everything on the menu sounded so good and there were so many options for my vegan coworker we were super excited to try it. She got a wrap and I got a bowl. It was fun selecting from all the different hummus options, toppings, and sauces. You are really able to create an interesting variety in your meal. Between the two of us, we had four different hummus flavors and came to the same conclusion for all - the hummus was creamy and tasted great, but there was not enough flavor difference between each one. It was like there was not enough of the added ingredients/flavors (kalamata olive, roasted red pepper, and roasted eggplant); they all kinda tasted like the original. On October 9, I ordered the pita sandwich for the first time, and it was delicious. It was so big I couldn't finish it and saved some for leftovers. There was a lot of hummus as well as other ingredients. Today, October 21 I ordered the same sandwich but ordered chickpeas instead of couscous. The sandwich was literally almost one half the size of the first one, and I didn't detect hummus, or maybe it was lightly spread. Both times I ordered two types of hummus on the sandwich. I really wanted to like this place, especially because they have good vegan options. First, 3 bowls, 1 pita, 1 order of fries and a shake was $75. For what's essentially fast food, that felt quite expensive. Second, something in the bowl I received made the whole bowl so spicy that I could not it eat it. Admittedly, I have zero spice/heat tolerance, but there's nothing in the descriptions or appearance of the condiments that would indicate they were hot/spicy (I did not get anything that specified jalapeño). Several others tried my bowl and they couldn't tell what it was from, but agreed it was quite spicy. My kid that has a good spice tolerance could hardly eat it the next day. The falafel are doughy compared to what I'm used to which is more crispy and less homogenous inside. They tasted ok, but not my favorite. The sweet potato fries were tasty, but soft as sweet potato fries usually are. They have some kind of coating, but the menu verified they were gluten free. The vegetables were very fresh and the staff was very friendly. Everyone else thought their bowls and sandwich were ok. The vegan tahini shake was DELICIOUS and I would go back for that as a treat ($7). read more

First removed vegan beef and now removed couscous as bowl base even though both are on menus. Have to wait for vegan chicken to cook. Also no knives anymore available to customers. My coworkers and I just had some food from here through uber eats and we were all satisfied! First off they were quick, secondly the food tasted and smelt very fresh! I had a bowl with couscous, falafel, kale, chickpeas, Kalamata olive hummus, zesty feta, garlic jalapeño dressing, Moroccan hot sauce and lemon juice and oil. All the dressing was on the side as I asked. My fav dressing was the garlic jalapeño. Wasn't too spicy but flavorful. Our office doesn't have too many healthy/ Mediterranean options connected with Uber eats so I hope hummus Republic continues to be available that way. Wish I took a picture but I was so hungry. Excellent fresh food! The Falafel is made to order and delicious. I paired mine with fried eggplant and it was superb. All types of freshly prepared sides are available to custom build your pita, wrap or bowl. The sweet potato fries are perfectly seasoned. My husband, who is not a fan of sweet potato fries, said these are the best sweet potato fries ever. This appears to be a family run restaurant and every employee strives to make it a great eating experience. We loved it! read more
