Oh man, there are so many things I loved here, but the same could be said about the negatives. I'll get to the point. Highlights: 1. Meat portions for the gyro was very generous. Portions in general were pretty large, but it still is not take-out-box worthy for me. 2. Very clean and nice looking restaurant, especially the bathroom. It definitely felt bougie. 3. May have been some of the best rice I've ever had. It's definitely good enough to order some home. 4. Service was good, nothing special. Lowlights: 1. Sadly, some of the driest and toughest chicken I've had in my life. 2. The kebab tasted exactly like the same meat thing, I have whipped up in 5 minutes on the grill. I don't know if this is an insult or compliment. But, as a restaurant, it should strive to have the best homemade recipes in its arsenal. Now, I may be a good home cook, but I definitely did not make the best tasting kebab on accident. 3. The salad was overbearingly sour for my mother. I like sour food so it wasn't that sour to me. However, if you weren't used to sour items, then it would definitely be unpleasant. Bonus Bathroom review: 9.1/10 May have been one of the best bathrooms I've seen. Very clean looking with nothing that stands out from the restaurant's overall look. The sink was my favorite part, considering it was nostalgic of Golden Phoenix before it's terrible renovation, which is another scandal in itself. Also, for some odd reason, there was a random plant in the corner. I'm not complaining though, I like herbs. If there were anything to gripe at, it's only a one person bathroom. Service and food was top notch! I ordered the Gyro Plate. I'm on a diet and asked if I could have grilled veggies instead of the rice. They didn't charge me any more and the veggies were cooked to perfection! Our server suggested I try the mahammara. She said it's a paste made from walnuts and red peppers. It did not sound good, but I gave it a shot. It was actually very scrumptious! It tasted like a sweet hummus. I'm not sure I'll get it again, but I'm very glad I tried it. I was very pleased with my dish. It checked all the right boxes to satisfy my Mediterranean craving. For dessert, I tried the baklava. It was very moist and chewy, but not very sweet. I cant believe that I've never reviewed this restaurant yet. We have been coming here for years and they just keep getting better. Steadily busy and still super friendly and professional! This place hands down some of my favorite Mediterranean food in the area. I definitely keep this place in my top 5 favorite. When you go in, try the Turkish coffee and get a side of mixed pickles. This was my first visit to Hummus Cafe, and I was very impressed. I decided to order an appetizer for my party but I did not want to order typical hummus, since this restaurant specializes in hummus I wanted to kick things up. I ordered the hummus with Gyro meat and I was very impressed. The hummus b itself was amazing and the best hummus I've ordered to-date, this is a huge compliment considering I have eaten hummus in the Middle East as well as the Mediterranean. The Gyro meat was also top-notch. For my entrée I ordered the beef kebab plate, with filet mignon for the cut of beef. The meal also came with a Mediterranean rice and your choice of the side. I chose the muhammara (roasted red bell pepper and walnut blend) for my side. My entrée was very flavorful including the sides, but the beef was over cooked. I would definitely visit the Hummus Cafe again and order the same items except I would request the beef cooked medium rare. The food was delicious! I ordered the gyro sandwich and got rice I stead of the fries. The gyro meat was tender and full of flavor, the pita was warm and soft, and the tzatziki sauce was fresh. The rice was a nice mix with a delicious flavor. Highly recommended! My wife got the tabouli salad and a falafel basket. The falafel was hot, fresh, and full of flavor. The star was the tabouli salad though. It had a much richer fill of greens, parsley and maybe mint, and less of the wheat. It was amazing, highly recommended. Can't say enough about this place. Their food is delicious. I always eat the chicken and steak Kabobs, which are great dipped in the muhammara sauce. I also like to dip them in hummus. It's a decent place and the price is right. I ordered the largest meat platter ($18 I believe) and it was pretty good, but I have some minor reservations. There were some sort of weird unchewable pieces in the rice. I don't know if that's on purpose or from burnt rice, but it wasn't too pleasant. Also, compared to other places, there is a distinct lack of sauce. I ordered a giant meat platter and had to ask for sauce. Maybe I'm just a stereotypical sauce-obsessed American, but it just seemed so dry in contrast to the other places I frequent. Camilya's for example offers three sauces with a similar kabob plate (garlic for the chicken, cucumber for the lamb/kofta, and a chili sauce. Cous Cous has a very unique cucumber sauce as well. Seems strange that you would have to ask for sauce at a Mediterranean place and when it came, it was a very generic cucumber sauce similar to a Gyro shack. Ok, that's probably enough talk about sauce. All in all, it was an enjoyable meal, but for $18 at a somewhat casual lunch stop, I kind of expected to have my socks blown off. You can totally get away with spending half of that, but I was starving. It's worth a stop if you're in the area, but can't say it stands with the best in OKC. read more

Not good at all. I'm not sure what the rice was, but it definitely is not the traditional Basmati rice with saffron. I'm pretty sure that it was the first time I've eaten at a Mediterranean restaurant and not even eaten half of the rice. The meat skewers (filet and chicken) were just not that tasty. In general they are good, though I prefer to get it to go as the service is kinda weird. If I order a sandwich, which comes with fries, when ordered, I have to specifically say when ordering that I want ketchup for the fries. And they don't check on you right away, so if you forget to ask for ketchup or napkins, you wait. Once I came in 30 minutes before they closed to eat in and they gave it to me in a to-go-box. Absolutely some of the best food in the OKC area. As an airline Captain, I've experienced a lot of different takes on hummus and Mediterranean food in general and this place checks all the boxes. We were told their spices are flown in from Jordan and whatever it is they are doing, you can taste the difference. I had a hot tea with fresh mint leaves and we had the sampler appetizer which included their baba ghanoush and a few different hummus varieties. My wife got the chicken Mediterranean fajita and I got the Gyro plate and everything was on point! Their house made tzatziki sauce was amazing delicate and light and all the different ingredients in the sides tasted freshly cooked! Our waitress Jasmine was not only knowledgeable, but she was very friendly and made us feel welcome! This is one of the best restaurants in more as well as the entire Oklahoma City area in my opinion.
