They had Saturday hours which was great, because in our kitchen remodel we found many places had short weekly hours and limited weekend hours which can make it hard to shop if you work full time. Tish was on time for our appointment and when we were overwhelmed with all the selections, she pulled out some to show us. When we started talking about our backsplash, she gave us ideas for that as well. She was so helpful! Overall, it was very painless. Anyone who has done a kitchen remodel knows that all those choices and working with lots of people for all you are doing can wear on you, but she made it very effortless.

So perfect, you can't see a seam?…read more Five stars is not enough! A friend referred me to this local countertop shop. I had lived with new marble top installed by previous homeowner in my kitchen since I moved in 8 years ago. But.. the pattern was very busy, never had a nice sheen, and when I placed a clear drinking glass on it, you easily missed it? (You can't miss it in one of the pictures below.) First visit was to their Batavia facility to take home samples and discuss approximate costs with a very knowledgeable and personable staff. Second visit was to my home to measure. Third was at their site with templates of my layout on the actual slab so I could see the grain and seam alignment as it would appear in finished countertop. This was fantastic because as much as I loved the pattern I had selected, I did not like the way it would appear completed. With NO pressure at all, I was encouraged to choose from similar patterns on their many other slabs of quartz so I could get the look I wanted. Templates were placed on another choice and the veins looked like they would match close at the seam. Three professionals arrived promptly at 8am and departed at 11am (perfectly as promised) and the finished job was more than I ever imagined. I had to really search for the seam but could only feel it as it is perfect... can you find it in the picture? (HINT: blue post-its align on seam in second image.)

Yes, I whined (to myself and to my husband) about the cost of custom cabinets and granite at C&G Direct, but I'm super happy with the quality of the product that showed up at my doorstep a few weeks back. The rep we worked with, Anna, was on point from start to finish. She was quick to answer questions, helped us design a counter and cabinet structure that would work best for our daughters' bathroom and followed up with our contractor when one cabinet door arrived less than stellar. Their showroom is quite lovely and you can get a nice picture of what your potential kitchen/bath will look like when all is said and done. Yes, we paid extra for our white cabs, but the quality is there, it looks awesome with the new counters, and said cabinets were crafted just a few states over. #worthit

I've been thinking of remodeling my kitchen for at least 10 years. The process started by sitting…read moredown at Lowe's with one of their kitchen designers and getting a free layout and cabinet estimate. Over the next 10 years I took that Lowe's layout to no less than a dozen cabinet companies to get their pricing. The pricing always came in around $10,000+ (except for one importer who sold cheap, rather than good cabinets in a limited number of styles and colors. None of which we liked.) Then a month ago, driving north on Gary avenue in Carol Stream I just happened to spot this place and thought I'd try again to price out the Lowe's design because we were now ready to do something. I went into the place and immediately started walking around. I didn't wait for a sales person because I wasn't sure if I'd like the place and didn't want some fast-talking salesman to start accosting me for my business. I'd looked for a few minutes before I was approached by Jim, a pleasant older gentleman. He was nice so I told him what I was looking for and we casually discussed a few options. I told him I had the Lowe's kitchen design and he said he'd be happy to price it out with the cabinets I liked (he didn't want to see their pricing). I emailed him the design minus the prices and he came back with some design drawings. We talked some more over email and I asked him to stop by my house to see my kitchen. He did and we had a great conversation and we got ideas for other ways to do the kitchen. After looking at the kitchen, Jim put together everything we liked, added in the monthly manufacturer promotions, and ended up THOUSANDS less than any other quality cabinet place. So today we visited the showroom to go over every part of the cabinet order before putting down a deposit. After all was said and done, even after we added many pullout drawers, did some upgrading and getting some trim pieces (not on the original Lowe's design), he beat my 10 year old barebones Lowe's kitchen design price by over $1,500! I can't recommend Jim and this place strongly enough. (I'll let you know if things don't go smoothly once we receive the cabinets.)

Well we needed their help with a new dishwasher that needed to be screwed into the quartz rather than the sides of the cabinet. Abt installed the dishwasher and due to a vent under the peninsula could not push the dw back far enough so it would have to be secured from the top and they wisely would not drill into the quartz. We called Anna at Art Granite and asked for help and of course Art was ready to help us out. He got the job done and for a very reasonable honest charge. We were able to speak with Anna, who was very friendly and straightforward, look at samples, get an approximate quote based on the measurements we brought, and get back home with time to spare on my lunch hour. We called back and scheduled the in home measurement the same day, booked the service, and had it installed about a week later. On the day they did the installation, I had removed the previous sink but couldn't get it outside by myself. Art, the installer, helped me carry it down when he arrived, and was able to install the new counter and sink in less than an hour. Overall, a pretty easy and reasonably priced process. I'll likely go back to them when I replace my half bath and kitchen counters.

We found Granite Crafters through a friend and their kitchen looked great so I gave them a call. We are doing some minor remodeling in our house and counters were a must. We had ceramic tiles on the counters before. Very 80's and very hard to clean. Whoever thought that grout on a food prep area was a good idea is not smart but I digress. We ended up getting kitchen counters and then asked about doing two vanities as well. At the granite yard there were scrap pieces they wouldn't sell to us but he said he had some at his shop that could work and they did. Our bathroom went from builder grade to amazing in two hours. Marek was prompt at calling me back. That's a must with contractors for me. We went to the granite yard to pick out our granite on a Saturday and he was able to install it a week and a half later. That's with fabrication and everything. He said they would be here between 1 and 2 and they were here at 1:15. Being on time is also a must. I have dealt with contractors that didn't call me back for days, didn't call me back at all and my personal favorite, lost his notes and wanting to come back to remeasure a month later. No thanks. We are in the very north suburbs and he still came on time. The selection of granite is enormous, the work is impeccable and the price is unbeatable. I did my homework and couldn't be happier that I went with them! Marek is very knowledgeable and super helpful. He answered all of my questions and there were lots.
