KM Dance Studio "appears" to be small in size so our awesome experience here has come as a complete…read moresurprise. In June they put on a two-hour dance show that revealed such a great cross-section of talent -- from outstanding professional-looking teens to adorable little dancers -- that we were blown away. Aside from the terrific production results, the best thing about KM has been the positive effect the teachers and classes have had on my middle-school-aged daughter over the last year. This was her first year dancing since Kindergarten so she was afraid that she wouldn't fit in at her age as a beginning dancer (and she tends to be a little shy). The teachers worked with her so she would feel at ease and found a class that was right for her. She learned so much over the year and most importantly, really became confident as a dancer. This is a big deal for us since previously she had been convinced that she wasn't good at physical endeavors. The teachers have been so encouraging and they are very good at their craft. My daughter now wants to sign up for several classes and continue dancing in high school! The atmosphere at the studio is friendly at both the student and parent level. One of the interesting things I noticed is that the classes this year for beginners tend to be smaller than the classes for the more advanced dancing (I would have expected the opposite due to regular attrition rates). This trend is an ideal learning situation for dancers at both levels -- great teacher to student ratio as dancers are first learning and need additional attention, and skilled dancers who stick around past the first class to allow for various offerings of intermediate and advanced classes -- with plenty of members to put on productions. I heartily recommend KM Dance Arts Studio -- we will be back!

The new owner has done an incredible job upholding the legacy of KM, and has worked through the growing pains of being the new owner gracefully. We are constantly telling friends to try this studio, and I encourage anyone with kids interested in dance to give it a try! Honestly, the recent 1 star reviews seem to be fake, or from cowardly parents or former staff who don't like the new policies. It's a shame they feel the need to selfishly try to ruin the reputation of a small business-- just because it didn't work for one person, doesn't mean there aren't others there who are thriving.

My Ate Rachelle invited me to try out Step 1 Dance & Fitness' Wednesday 7pm beginner adult hip-hop…read moreclass with coach Joe H. Personally, I'm more of a Zumba gal so this style of dance was really out of my comfort zone and I didn't know what to expect. First time in, and the drop-in price for the class was $15. While waiting for the previous [full] class to finish in that room (Zumba), restrooms were all the way down the hall and they also have an Elkay water bottle filler. There were at least two or three more rooms in use for youth/teen classes, and folding chairs along the hallway for parents/spectators too. There were less than ten people total in the class by my estimate, and it is once a week recurring. It sounded like the past two weeks they were working on choreography moves, but this evening Joe wanted to focus on a basic skill tutorial/demo -- the Wave! The arm wave is one of the coolest foundational illusions in popping, where you make your arm look like a ripple of water. After a warmup meditative movement set, he really broke it down step by step, practicing each position, first a cappella then with music, slow first then sped up, then added variations/flair. Isolating each joint is the key: fingers/hands up, then pop wrist, elbow up, pop shoulder up, chest, then once at opposite shoulder, reverse the path down the other arm! He also showed us a trace wave transition into a body wave, popping the left knee, then right knee, hip, chest, head, then trace back to the arm/hand. You could even do the arm wave at shoulder level, down at your waist, with both arms parallel, or point at each pop of the body wave. He also showed us the difference between waving out versus waving in. One water break pause during the hour, but otherwise it was fun to learn and follow along. The class after us was Beg/Int Contemporary Fusion 8pm, then Heels at 8:30pm. For adults they also have Jazz, Tap, Ballet, Line Dance, Fierce Funk, Soca Dance Fitness, Stretch Fusion and Sculpt & Define. https://step1danceandfitness.com/pdfs/Adult-schedule.pdf

She fit in seamlessly with the hip hop students, and it was clear this was the right environment for her. Her hip hop teacher, Titus, is fantastic, talented, encouraging, and great at connecting with his students while maintaining structure and professionalism. My daughter truly enjoys his class and looks forward to every session. The studio is very professional, with well-run shows and events that feel polished and thoughtfully produced. You can tell the owners are highly skilled in their craft, creating high-quality productions while fostering a supportive and positive atmosphere for the dancers. We're so happy to be part of the Premiere School of Dance community and highly recommend it to families looking for a studio that combines talent, professionalism, and heart.

The owner is very rude, will record you without your permission, and is not understanding whatsoever. And while I understand there are expectations and contracts and all, if you as a business owner don't tend to your customers, how do you expect people to bring there kids? Meant to be a nice and welcoming experience, and the owner makes it very unwelcoming for all. She will falsely accuse you for very terrible things and escalates things way too fast. Take your kids elsewhere.
