This dance studio is amazing! We've worked with Christina and Q so far (about six lessons in), and both of them are kind, professional, patient, knowledgeable, and incredibly helpful. This is the first time my boyfriend and I have taken dance lessons, and we're really enjoying learning all the different styles while having so much fun. We had a lot of fun learning our first dance with Kristina. She was patient, funny, and helpful. Neither of us are dancers, so this was all very new to us. I was pretty nervous, but doing the private lessons have us the confidence for the big day. It was memorable and a lot more coordinated than it would have been if we had skipped our dance lessons! Me and my wife have done a couple of classes, my wife is an advanced dancer who has rhythm. I'm the total opposite of that. Kristina and Hailey are 2 of the trainers and they are not only teaching me to dance, but they've been able to share with me their love of dancing, which has made me love my time with them learning. I want to thank the Arthur Murray Carmichael Dance Center instructors for making me feel at home. I grew up dancing with my mother, who happened to be a great lead. I didn't know that she had taught me to follow. Now I am learning for myself what I am doing, so I have a better understanding. And maybe one day I will be able to dance as if I am flying. Love this studio and the people in it. Owner husband and wife Pedro and Jamilla have created an environment that is welcoming, fun, supportive and with great energy. I have been taking lessons and classes there for several years and it was one of the better choices to improve my life I have made. I have never felt judged or criticized. I laugh that Pedro has never told me I did something wrong, but on a few occasions has told me he has never seen it done that way before, which I always take as a compliment. Incredible staff!! We absolutely love the instructors here. Went in without the slightest idea of how to do a single dance step and in 6 lessons did a beautiful rumba at our wedding August 3rd for our "first dance". They are so patient, encouraging and kind. We learned a few other steps as well that carried us through our reception having so much fun dancing with each other, friends and family. OMG. Every time my face hurt so much... from smiling. Seriously, don't go here if you don't want to have a good time or you'll leave disappointed. Our instructor (McKenna) is fun, encouraging and hilarious. All of the instructors are actually great. Great place if you want to socialize and meet new people, or just learn the basics so you don't make a fool out of yourself. We came to have them help us with our wedding dance but we are having so much fun that we decided to learn everything that interests. read more

My husband and I first came into contact with Arthur Murray Studio when we were preparing for our wedding. Though we had taken lessons off an on over the years at various other studios and did not want to do a routine for our first dance, we were looking for a place that would help us polish our skills before the big day. We could not be happier with our decision to go with AMS, and have now been taking lessons for 9 months following the wedding. From the very first moment you walk in, you are greeted with a friendly, energetic atmosphere and LOTS of smiles. Seriously...LOTS of smiles. I have often wondered if there is just something special in the air, because it is nearly impossible not to have a good time when dancing in the studio. The instructors are very professional and well versed in working with people of all skill levels. They are invested in making you the best dancer you want to be, and make sure you are aware of every available opportunity to better your skills. The group lessons and practice parties are a great way to get to know the other students and get comfortable with social dancing (especially avoiding collisions on a crowded floor). You will be amazed at how quickly you pick up skills that will last you a lifetime! The owners, Pedro and Jamila have created a wonderful culture here. When you start taking lessons, they say,"you are now part of the Arthur Murray Family", and it is absolutely true. I'm conflicted about how to review this dance studio. Our instructor McKenna was wonderful. Bright, funny, patient, a good listener, and she really worked hard with us to prepare a memorable dance for our first dance at our wedding. The location itself is inviting, well maintained, the staff is welcoming, and they offer a variety of options for when to come in, what to learn, and forums (private, group lessons) to learn. The issue I had was with the hard sell tactics of some of the staff. My fiancé and I knew we'd never be excellent dancers and that we couldn't afford lessons beyond the four we paid for. But by the second lesson at the end of each lesson we were being asked about long term dancing plans and it was emphasized that more practice would build a lifelong skill. Well, we weren't interested in a lifelong skill, just what we needed to get by and we stated that more than once. But we were pressed at each of our last three lessons about more dance lessons. It made for leaving with an unpleasant feeling at the end, and I was less enthused about the last lesson because I knew there would be another hard sell. And at the end our instructor led us to a room and we waited for several minutes before we realized we were being set up for another hard sell and left. In our car in the parking lot one of the instructors came out to talk to us rather than just letting us go. I recognize the need for repeat customers but some people just want to have a lesser experience and aggressive tactics don't work. Instead of trying to pressure them to keep coming back, maybe just make that experience a good one. read more

My wife and I enrolled for dance lessons to prepare for our daughter's wedding. We couldn't have been happier with the staff, which was enthusiastic and helpful at every turn. They seemed genuinely interested in our being successful. Our daughter and fiancé, who live out of town, took lessons in their community, but then joined us at the Carmichael studio just before the wedding. We really appreciated the effort to get us ready, and ready we were.
