We instantly felt like we weren't at home and ended back at ovations where my daughter feels welcome and has made friends and is thriving. I love this dance studio. My daughter started here 6 months ago and she loves it. Every single instructor, owner and Olivia at the front desk are all so welcoming and easy to talk to. One thing I really appreciate about this studio is all the costumes (no matter the age) for the shows are modest. I feel like this is a rare quality these days. This place is lucky to get 1 star. My niece has been dancing here for a short time. Seems to enjoy it so I,was so excited when I took myself and my two kids to her dance recital. Only.....they expected me to pay $60.00 for three people. An adult, a 7 year old and a three year old. REALLY?!?!?!?HOW YOU GUYS CAN JUSTIFY THIS IS RIDICULOUS!!! Her mother, grandma from Texas and sisters were expected to pay $80.00. WHAT?!??! My older daughter danced here for 10 plus years. She was never on the dance team, but it gave her a great dance background for her musical theatre and now she is on her high school dance team. My younger daughter now dances at Ovations. She loves her classes and the studio offers a loving and friendly environment while learning solid dance technique. Ms. Tonya is the owner of Ovations as well as one of the teachers. She is amazing. Our daughter loves her and has attended for 5 years. There are very few studios that always put the kids first. This is such a place. Whenever we voice a concern Ms Tonya is quick to respond. Our child feels safe, loved and welcome at Ovations and we love the atmosphere. Our daughter has taken the hip hop class all five years as well as numerous others. Although there is little demand for hip hop and it is difficult to find a great teacher, the studio continues to offer it and does their best to find a teacher each year. Some teachers are good with kids, others aren't. Ovations at least recognizes that and makes an effort to replace the ones that don't work out. read more

I'm signing up my 13 year old niece for Hop Hip classes. My 1st impressions have been great. I left voicemails for them and they respond within one day. They're very nice, upbeat, attitude free and give all info up front. Price is reasonable $70 a month for 1 class a week. My niece checked out the class for free to observe and she's committing to doing it. Looking forward to the actual classes. =] read more

Unfortunately, we had a very bad experience in a hip hop class. My two children knew a few moves and could feel the music. So, I thought I would put them in a class to really learn some great moves. Not so. The instructor was a dancer for the Kings and she was all about them learning to do a routine to Rihanna. So, each class they played the same song over and over again and 15 little bodies tried to make movements that were so forein to them it was shameful . I asked the teacher if she could mix it up a bit and put some other music on and she replied that they needed to get the rountine down so they could have their show at the end of the year. I am not a show at the end of the year mom- I am a woman who wants her kids to know how to move be it at home in front of the tv or on the dance floor. You can only watch your children 1 time in the month otherwise the curtains are closed. I must say we do have friends that bring their child here and they love it- she is about the routine & show at the end. read more

It took a few emails and a few weeks to get a reply back from this studio. The reply was short and to the point, but not very friendly. They don't seem interested in having new students at this time, which is fine since we're looking to take quite a few classes, but a friendly reply (after waiting weeks and multiple attempts at contacting them for one) would have been appreciated. I hope they keep the same dancers forever, or change their attitude, or they won't be getting very much business in the future. Maybe they'll read this review and it will remind them to have better customer service. Needless to say we will not bother with this studio again. read more

I danced here when I was in middle school, but I had to quit because I could never make the classes. I did tap and ballet. I miss tapping so much. This is a great studio all about educating the students in the various forms of dance. Every fall classes start fresh like a new school year. The teachers make sure the students know the names of each dance step not just a dance to be performed for a show. There are lots of opportunities to perform at various venues to gain that all important dance confidence. Every January, the theme for the June Recital is revealed. Students discover what type of dance they will be performing, jazz, ballet, hip hop lyrical etc. The dance costume is revealed to the dancers. From Jan. to June the focus of the weekly classes is learning that dance for the BIG Show just before the summer break. read more

After searching for a dance school for my 3 yr old grand daughter we chose Ovations and have not been disappointed. Miss Tonya, the owner and teacher for the youngest students is fabulous. She doesn't pressure the kids, she gently guides them and teaches them the basics of dance. I have been involved in the dance world for many years and just couldn't say enough good things about this school. There are two performances a year but the children are not pressured into taking part. From what I have experienced, they are encouraged to but it's not a requirement for attending the school. At least in my grand daughters class they were excited to be in a recital and since they were not pressured they enjoyed it immensely. Also, as far as only being able to watch the first week of the month, it is for the kids sake to keep them focused and distraction free. The rule is quite flexible depending on if there are new students or someone visiting that wants to watch. From what I have seen though, when the curtain is open, parents tend to stand there and talk and it really does disrupt the class. I highly recommend this school and Miss Tonya. read more

This is my daughter's third year at this studio and she loves it. Every year she adds a new class. The owner as well as all the other instructors, including the hip hop teacher, have taken her under their wing. She has learned so many different types of dance and has found good friends. This studio stands out as a leader for young ladies. All the dancers have great attitudes and are very caring and are also growing into fine role models. Even though my daughter is by far not the best, she gives 110% because of the caring instructors and the other dancers' encouragement. It's a wonderful place for a young person to be. read more

I want to parrot everything the above stated. In fact, my daughter was in the same class (I know by the name of the artist) and it was bad. In fact I thought that the end of the year routine was the worst of all of the routines from the other classes. This particular instructor is not very good with kids and is/was late a lot to class. I really had a feeling that she did not want to be there. If anything, don't take the hip hop or any class in which this particular person teaches. My daughter began a different class with her and has since quit from frustration. The other instructors aren't too bad though. read more

I am extremely dissatisfied with this place. I purchased a groupon for my daughter to attend the ballet/tap classes on Saturday mornings. Before I purchased the groupon, I was able to speak with someone and find out a little of information, but once I purchased it, it was as if the place closed down....I've left multiple voicemails, with no return call. I even showed up this past Saturday morning, with my daughter fully dressed and prepared for class, with all of the proper attire that I had purchased after speaking with an employee of Ovations during the ONE call that I was able to have answered. When we showed up on Saturday morning at 8:30, there was not one person there. I waited until about 9:10, and still not one person showed up. There was nothing on the door or website stating that it was closed. I still have not received a call back. read more
