A friend of mine had never been to HuHot, and as I've gone several times and always had good food and never found cleanliness issues, we met there for lunch. Because I've gone before, I now know what veggies and proteins I want in my bowl, and I've finally found the perfect combination of sauces to give the heat and spice I like. I did my best to guide my friend along in her sauce choices, but while we both agreed the food was cooked perfectly on the griddle, she thought her sauces got lost in the cooking process, or perhaps she was too much of a novice to get it right the first time. So while I greatly enjoyed my lunch, she didn't, and said she'd likely stick to Chinese restaurants where she can use tabletop sauces and chili flakes to season her food as she desires. But I shall return! read more

It's all you can eat. They have different noodles, proteins and vegetables. You help yourself with a bowl of raw ingredients and different sauces. Chef stir fries them infront of you. It's a unique experience. My partner and I were so hungry when we got there and were thrilled that it was all you can eat. Every bowel we made was a surprise bowl. Nice ambiance too. read more

My husband and I were invited by friends to try HuHot since we had never been there before. We were greeted warmly, seated right away, and the host did a nice job explaining how everything worked and even offered to walk us through the food stations. Unfortunately, that's where the positive experience ended. The first thing we noticed was how slippery the floor was. It honestly felt like it had been greased. As we made our way through the food stations, many items looked less than appetizing. Other than the frozen beef, pork, and chicken, some of the proteins were questionable. The mussels were already open, which immediately raised concerns. Several containers were empty, and others looked like they should have been replaced long before we arrived. The sauce area was messy and difficult to navigate, with spills everywhere. The cooking station was chaotic. There was only one cook working while a line of customers waited. He seemed more interested in entertaining the crowd by flipping his spatulas than keeping things moving. There was food on the floor, dropped utensils, and bottles lying around--creating what looked like a safety hazard. The employees were all pleasant and friendly, which I appreciated, but cleanliness and food quality are just as important. Sadly, good customer service wasn't enough to make up for the overall dining experience. HuHot was a one-and-done restaurant for us. I don't mind paying for a meal out, but I do expect it to be clean, well-stocked, and well-managed. read more

Wouldn't recommend. The place was dirty and the food was low. The grill was gross looking. The food tasted gross. Staff was very nice. Service was okay. But the overall experience was not good due to the cleanliness of the restaurant and the food was bad. read more

Great experience! Staff was incredibly welcoming and attentive. Everything was very clean and well stocked. If it's your first time/you don't cook a lot, it is one of those places you get to pick your own toppings and sauces so just make sure you are adding the ingredients for the flavor profile you are looking for (forgetting things like ginger, soy, or sesame oil could leave you feeling like something is missing). I left very satisfied and will be back soon! read more

This restaurant has a modern design with neutral colors and large windows. You can order rice, salads, kids items, and apps from your table. But the main dining option is make your own stir fry and the cooks grill it. Grab a bowl and go through a buffet line adding ingredients into the bowl. You can make as many as you want. Pro tip use two bowls for your first trip. It's about the size of a normal large entree. Dinner is $16.49 Detailed list of ingredients: -Carbs: Noodles, rice, -Meats: Sausages, beefs, mussels, shrimp -Veggies: mushroom, bamboo shoots, broccoli, jalapeño, beans, bean sprouts, etc. -Misc: pinnacle, cilantro, beans, eggs -Asian inspired sauces include 12+ different sauces. -Plus oils and broths. These are make or break. The ingredients seemed fresh and cold and clean. The overall quality is limited by what you put in your bowl so hard to rate the food. I should have put oil in mine. I would rather go somewhere else for the price unless I could eat 3 bowls by skipping a meal. Also I would not recommend this type of eatery if you are crutches. Specifically if friend had foot surgery and seeing them for the first time in weeks, invite them to a only sit down only place. read more

Poor quality, dirty environment, lazy workers. The ingredients are often not filled. After the chefs cooked my dish, the noodles were still raw, asked to have the dish cooked again for little longer but received it back burnt. Will not recommend. The one in Appleton is much better option. read more

I've been to HuHot 3 times. It's good quality from my experiences. There's either a really long wait for a table, or the place is dead empty. The food is average, nothing special, but nothing bringing it down from average. It's an okay price for the amount of food you get. What brings this place up a tier is always the customer service and kindness of the servers. The hibachi cooks are super kind and responsive, and the servers are definitely quick on their feet. read more

In my 3rd visit to HuHot, server Alexis and hostess Geneva were naturally welcoming and encouraged my enjoyment of the hibachi grill, reassuring me in a polite manner that I can continue to return to and go through the line after my first serving. I am also grateful to receive their attentive service in making sure that my water was consistently filled through friendly and upbeat checkins at the table. In no way did I feel bothered or rushed to leave the restaurant, even though there were many guests dining in groups. Thank you so much, HuHot, for your friendliness and heartfelt hospitality! Additionally, my experience was made more positive from Geneva's recommendation to try the Miso Garlic sauce on the Hibachi stir fry. The experience of food prepared in front of you is very satisfying and I wish the reader a fun night out with friends or family in good company at HuHot. read more

I love HuHot. It's my favorite restaurant. The best one by far is the Lake Delton location. We went to the West Allis location & had to wait a little longer to get seated, because it looked like there was only 1 server which is absolutely no problem, I get it. It was just the actual food part that upset us. They were cooking it on such a high temp that my pad tai noodles were a little chewy & the sauce kinda just burnt to the grill (I use 6-9 ladles). There was pork or beef in the chicken spot the second time I went up too. The staff were really nice. We've been here a few times. This time just wasn't the best. read more

Best food we've had in a long time. Huhot has fast and friendly service. The main feature of HuHot is a Mongolian Stir-Fry buffet where you fill a bowl with a variety of refrigerated and frozen noodles, meats, and vegetables, all of your choice, and then you add ladles of different sauces ranging from sweet and savory to hot and fiery. Then you hand your customized bowl to the grill chefs, who operate a donut-shaped iron grill and cook your food while you watch. The grill chefs are great, and often do cool tricks with their spatulas like flipping them in the air and catching them - the kids loved it. They even have a gong by the grillers tip jar you can ring! Lots of fun while you wait for your food to cook. All in all, HuHot was very pleasant and inviting and well worth the money. Definitely will be returning. We highly recommend! read more

By far and without a doubt the best casual dining spot. Make your meal exactly the way you. Food is always fresh, sauce selection means you'll never have the same thing twice. Went out to this establishment with friends on Friday. I've been here before but wasn't always fond of the build your own entree experience they provide. The biggest reason is that I could never get the sauces right, and you can only experiment so many times on a visit. So I did a little research on their app and found that they have a very large collection of recipes guiding you through the taste experience. I thought this might work well given my poor choices in the past. And it did until I tried to put one together and half way through adding the sauces I discovered either the sauce container was empty or the sauce described wasn't even available. This visit did work out better than my previous experiences, so more than likely I would feel confident that I could get a tasty dish using the recipes as a guide. As far as service, we did arrive slightly before their evening rush started, but even when it did we were still able to get our dishes cooked up quickly. Our server was attentive and friendly. One negative on our visit, and this isn't unusual here, the buffet carts where you put your meal together are pretty messy, especially the saucing area. Not sure how it could be improved since customers are responsible for creating the mess. The glass protective hood does make it difficult to raise the sauce ladles high enough to add it to your dish, thus the many spills. Might be a turn off for some, but doesn't impact the food itself. So a somewhat unique build your own buffet experience that is worth a try. read more

Fine food, though the managers (especially Lori) are very incompetent and disrespectful. Will not be returning to this location.

Hu Hot is my family's favorite restaurant but this location seems to be going downhill. They are consistently out of items across the food barr to make your bowl. Always out of 1 or more meats and usually out of a sauce or other items. They do not stop people from using two bowls which dramatically slows down service for other guests. The wait staff at times is very helpful but is inconsistent from trip to trip. read more

This is a fun little restaurant if tour looking for something different. The premise here is buffet style. We had a table for 4 and were greeted immediately You take your bowl up to the salad bar where the food is raw or frozen. So much to choose from starting with Chinese Noodles, rice, and zucchini noodles, Meat choices are shrimp, mussels, chicken, beef, tilapia. pork. Veggies, spinach, red onion. peas, beans, corn, cilantro, etc. Then there are the sauces. There are 15 to choose from like, teriyaki, garlic oil, hot mustard, sesame oil, sriracha, etc. You can use and mix sauces as much as you like. Then take it over to the grill. (don't forget your egg)_ The chef' interact with the crowd and do some tricks with their spatula Even better, you can go through the line as many times as you want. My tip for this is when you are about done with your plate, start your second plate and watch for it to come up.. No to-go boxes are provided As far as covid procedures they have the restaurant seating at 50 percent,. masks are mandatory, I even saw them give masks to a couple of customers. You do serve yourself at the buffet line and gloves are required and provided. Like I said before, this is a fun little place and a perfect choice when your sick of burgers and pizza Sorry, No pics read more

All you can eat Mongolian Grill. They had a lot of options of protein, vegetables, noodles, and tons of sauces. This is a great place to go and try different combinations and flavors of stir fry! The counters with the food options were clean and well stocked. After you pour several ladles of sauce (they have lots of options and even suggestions of combinations to try) in your bowl you get in line and they pour your food on a hot grill. I enjoyed watching them cook right in front of me and the grillmasters were very friendly and professional. It is all you can eat, so you can't bring leftovers which is kind of a bummer. I also loved all the options but the meats aren't the highest quality -- they are pretty thin so they dry out easily. Good restaurant for a quick and tasty stir fry though! read more

Are you looking for a reasonably priced meal for you or a group at lunch or dinner? Do you like designing your own meal without anyone getting in the way or having it be too complicated? Same here! At HuHot, you get a bowl to start with (1 of as many as you can stomach) and load that baby up with meats, veggies, toppings and of course, sauce. They have a ton of sauce choices and some are for all, some are not for the faint o heart. Take the 5 flame level sauce seriously... seriously. I watched someone cry while eating their food because it was so spicy!! Haha. Anyways. This is a cool spot for a cheap dinner with a ton of food. read more

The food is good but the service is horrible. We've been there 4 times to this location and each time the staff has been horrible. The floor under the tables are always dirty. The food is also not restocked very often but when it is it's good. One of the times we were there the manger was on the grill. She was talking to another employee about things that should NOT be talked about in front of customers. We felt very offended even though she wasn't talking directly to us. It's embarrassing to admit having eaten here as an Asian American, but my ha'ole friend loves these places. Here's how to enjoy a visit here, and I do actually recommend you visit here. Do not even begin to imagine you are visiting an Asian restaurant. There's nothing Asian about this place, unless you're also going to consider Italian American restaurants as Asian since pasta was invented by the Chinese. They invented the printing press, toilet paper, the sit down toilet, gun powder, rocket science, charcoal, and bureaucracy as well so by that standard, all restaurants are "Asian." There's nothing authentically Mongolian here. If you can get that clear, and it's not hard because they don't really make the pretense of being authentic, and there's no racist stereotyping like you find in those ethnocentric "Hibachi Japanese" Benihana genre places. What you will find is a very clean restaurant that at the height of Covid 19 and in a high denier suburb is practicing very safe distancing, masking, glove wearing, and cleaning procedures. You pick the ingredients for your American stir fry, and I repeat, don't make the mistake of thinking there's anything authentically Asian (which is a whole continent and a race category, not a singular ethnic group) about the ingredients or sauces, wearing gloves, and at a safe distance you take it to a young White grill chef who embellishes with a little fancy White diner style showmanship on a distant cousin of the Teppan grill. Upon request you can get a bowl of plain steamed white rice, and I've had worse at pseudo-Asian "fusion" restaurants. Don't make the mistake of ordering green tea, you'll get a mug of hot water and a Lipton tea bag, ugh. The food is pretty good if you're not expecting authentic Cantonese or Mongolian, and the service is excellent for a restaurant in this price range. And even for a curmudgeon like me, the place is fun. Don't under tip if you visit during the ongoing Pandemic, there's lots of extra work for the staff and they are doing it. read more

This was really a bad restaurant. The service was very poor ... it was if we were inconveniencing our servers. The food buffet was untidy with food spilled about. Food on the floor. The vegetables were chopped very randomly with large chunks. Floor was slippery from grease. read more

Mongolian Grill concepts (with varying names) are popular around the country. It's fun to watch the guys sling their spatulas on the big round grill, choose your sauces (even mix them) and get served by a friendly staff. However, you pay about $12.00 with tax per adult and for that you get little frozen slivers of chicken, pork or beef along with two versions of pollock (cheapest fish available). If you fill your bowl with pasta/rice (carbs!), there isn't a lot of room for all the other inexpensive type veggies. Of course you can go back-- again and again. And it will be filling. But it won't be quality. The kids may think it's fun (a time or two), but I would prefer a generous lunch of better quality for less money at a Chinese restaurant. read more

Located at shopping center this restaurant boasts of great sauces and amazing service. Like other Mongolian restaurants here also you can take a bowl or two pick your meats veggies noodles and sauces. Then take them to a griller where chefs will prepare them and give it back to you on a plate. What makes this one different is great collection of innovative sauces. They have tons of option right from mild to extremely hot flavor. Garlic oil ,revenge are some of my favorites. read more

Let's start off with this place is da bomb. It is an all you can eat buffet but hold on you make your own food. You start out with 3 thin sliced pork, beef or chicken. Then you advance to noodles and other daily meats or fish that change. Next you pick all of your vegetables like bamboo shoots, mushrooms, pineapple, water chestnuts among other Asian style veggies. Next you have around 18 or more different sauces to add to your mix. Next you go to the big circular hibachi style cooking surface. A cook takes your bowl and cooks it for you. Typically takes 5 to 10 min to cook. You get your plate of food and enjoy. My tip is take 2 bowls to start. Fill one with meat and the other with veggies. Fill both with equal amounts of your sauce. read more

Took my family for a great, fun time. Told my family the food is wonderful and service is great! I was so sad everything I told them blew up in my face! Waitress was wonderful and wanted to be attentive but for as busy as she was it was hard d for her! Example of all that was upsetting for that late afternoon! 1.No food in the containers. 2. I do believe there was more food around the containers and on the floor. 3.The sauce station was shameful it was so sticky you could not place your bowl down. The floor was also very upsetting it was gross! I did see one worker trying to do filling of containers at the pace of a turtle. I do think he just had enough trying to do all alone. We ordered beer and 2 different kind well they had none! Please what is going on? I must say you need more workers in the restaurant area! This is one of our favorite family places to go to, however things have been getting a bit negative with some of the cooking staff, it almost seems like they hate their job or just don't want to be there, the energy feels different and they handle the spatulas like they weight tons. We even heard this one guy complaining to the others of how they put him on the schedule on Sunday and not respecting his religion. So why not get another job? Obviously he's not happy there. I have no complaints about waiting staff, they always treat us with respect and are very attentive, specially today Sunday, the young girl was courteous and took great care of us. I hate to say that we will not be coming back for a while nor recommend the place to any of my friends, they were constantly out of ingredients and when we asked the back staff for more eggs, the guy looked like he was annoyed and was having a bad day. Overall the place looked dark and sad, with very few people. Food was well cooked but just felt like it wasn't handled with a good attitude. read more

We absolutely love this place but the quality and quantity have gone way down. We came for lunch around 1:30pm and were so excited to see how busy it was because that means the business is doing great. But unfortunately, the lack of food being stocked was a major issue.
