Just ate here from grub hub and everything was so insanely good. I am really impressed with price and how fresh everything was. I have had a lot of Mexican upon moving here last year and this place has my favorite rice and beans. The soup I got was delicious(chicken and rice) my son had taquitos, and husband had a chimichanga. I will be ordering again and I'm insanely happy with this place. Good job to them! read more

After reading the reviews, my wife and I decided to have dinner around 7 pm on Saturday, March 5. We were seated by a waitress and then completely forgotten by the wait staff. After sitting for about 10 minutes, I asked a server as to who our server would be and she said she would check. No one ever came to our table to take our orders. A couple came in after us and was seated and promptly got water delivered to their table. We then watched a waitress take their order. We sat a total of 20 to 25 minutes before we decided to leave. In walking out, the waitress I asked to check on who are server would be, asked "are you leaving?" My reply to her was, yes because we were ignored! Went here because my neighbor recommended it to me. Small local spot with relaxing decor. Servers seemed really busy with taking orders running food and keeping tables cleaned.Chips and salsa were solid. Guacamole was homestyle and very good. The michelada was also good with Pacifico. Beans and rice were awesome. My wife thought her carnitas was good. My order got messed up pretty bad. I ordered flautas and a carne asada taco with cheese cilantro and onion but what I got was taquitos and a plain carne asada taco. Didnt say anything since I enjoyed what I had but I was a I bummed. Me and my wife have lived in the Coachella Valley for our entire lives. The food we ordered from Huerta's restaurant was some of the best and perfect combination of spicy and tasty food that we ever got in the valley. The worst nachos we ever had the misfortune to order. The carne asada was burnt, dry and stale. The chips were tasteless. The cheese came out of a can. The so-called guacamole consisted of a few avocado slices. All in all, everything was just slopped together. Ugh!!!. It was a waste of money and was dumped in the garbage. read more

Hit good food again. Had another Coctel de Cameron that I think beat the first time. I also ordered a ceviche tostado that was fresh and flavorful. My partner had a beef taco plate this time. Got here last night right after a little trip to Painted Canyon. We arrived right before the rush and they got SLAMMED. The Chili Verde was delicious but the Beans & Rice were marginal. The salsa is FANTASTIC but the chips could be better. The Margarita I sipped down was decent but the Modelo I had afterwards was better. The service was great even is the girls were being run ragged. It is probably best to avoid Friday nights. People kept filing in or walking away when they noticed all the tables were full. We took up three tables with a party of eight and there was a table next to us that consisted of ten to twelve. I am sure the flow got better after we vamoosed! read more

Cute place located in Indio. The food was good and the waitstaff were very nice. We got here about a half hour before closing time on a Saturday night. Even though we were still there a half hour after closing time we didn't feel rushed and they weren't cleaning up around us. I hate when places are spraying the tables with cleaner around you or trying to sweep around the other chairs. They did not do that here. Nice! Emily and I had the chicken enchilada and chile relleno meals and Pammy had the Tampinquena (Carne Asada and cheese enchiladas). Okay.... this is the jackpot! Ever find a hole in the wall place that is not only affordable but so authentic/flavorful? Well, this is just that!! We happen to stumble on this place on Friday because we were visiting a local brewery with a Groupon we purchased... we ordered our typical Mexican restaurant items: mixed seafood cocktail.. fish tacos and shrimp tacos.. bloody mary... etc Well, the seafood cocktail and bloody mary was outta this world!!!! They were so good we came the night after to have it again. I noticed a few things though: - it was wayyy busier on Friday than Saturday - we were the only non-mexican people in the restaurant both nights - we were also the only people who ordered on English -with only 2 check ins, I got the YELP crown for this location Actually, all of the above are great indicators that we've hit a gem!! Authentic and a favorite of the locals during the work week and isn't touristy!! YAS!!! Additionally, we had to cancel a reservation for a fine dining place (we're out here celebrating our 10th year anniversary)... and I'm glad we did. Very disappointed in the food . I ordered a salad and aguachile shrimp . It had no flavor and looked like it was a few days stored away. Salad was regular lettuce and just seemed so generic ; no effort put into it. Timeline: Arrival until first greeting - 5 mins Seated until greeted by waiter - 10 mins Order until drinks received - 10 mins Drinks received until food received - 20 mins It seemed like the front of the house was understaffed - but either way the experience was disappointing. Not sure if this place was overwhelmed because it's very small and they were crowded but it was mediocre at best. There were eight of us and another large group plus some smaller tables and while the service was fine and the food came out quickly, it wasn't as hot as I would have liked, plates were very cold which didn't help and nothing had a lot of flavor. I had cheese enchiladas with green sauce which was good, my husband had beef with one red and one green. He said the red sauce was boring. Our daughter in law had a Chili relleno which she said was just ok. The young lads all had tacos, said they were good but that was their only comment. My 12yr old ordered the nachos cuz she thinks she wants to be a vegetarian ugh & they were freshly fried chips with a canned queso & beans oh & jalapeños. So so good!!!! The chips were great then the cheese & beans got all mixed in...sorry I just drooled. So good. Had a coctel de camaron & it was fresh, cold & delicious! They have plenty of salsas/sauces etc to spice it up how you like it too! I had a mango margarita as well....ok I had 2. It was just that good. Lots of tajin on the rim! Anyways... Five stars "within class" -- modestly priced, authentic Mexican restaurants. Other Yelpers say the specialty is seafood, and the menu reflects that. However, it's hard to find well made goat soup (caldo de birria) and I was in the mood. It was a good choice. Lots of great tasting meat, and freshly chopped onions on the side. With a little salt and American black pepper, the soup was perfect for my taste. The soft tacos come in only one tortilla, although they have plenty of meat. Four corn tortillas come with the soup. That let me create four tacos out of two, and still have two tortillas with the soup. The carnitas in the tacos was soft and fresh. Ten bucks for the goat soup plus five bucks for two carnitas tacos (made into four) plus chips and salsa with a free refill made an ample meal. The young woman who served me was charming and attentive. Just south of the 10 Freeway on Jackson. Turn north if you want American chain fast food. Turn south about two blocks if you want the real thing. read more

Salsa was great if you like a little kick. Waitress was nice but did not check on us and took forever after we finished to get us our check, and they weren't even busy. Big reason they lost a star is the flies. 2 of them landed on our food. The entire time I was swatting them away from me. Pretty irritating. Would return, food was great.
