But like my previous review said I've been going to them since they started from their backyard and it is so amazing to see what a success This small taco shop has become in the Coachella Valley!! I've tried many birria tacos from here in the Coachella Valley to Los Angeles and Orange County. And this by far has to be top 3. Excellent service all around! We had a horrible experience tonight and will never be returning. I strongly urge others to think twice before dining here or purchasing gift cards. We were given a $25 gift card to this restaurant some time ago and had never used it. Tonight, we finally decided to treat ourselves and place a takeout order. Our total was over $50, and we planned to simply apply the gift card toward part of the order -- not even close to covering the full amount. When we tried to use the gift card, we were told they had changed their POS system and no longer use the system that issued the gift card. Because of that, they refused to honor it. Instead of taking responsibility for their internal system change, they implied the card may have already been used, which felt accusatory and insulting. This was a gift card we had never redeemed, and the implication that we were trying to scam them out of $25 was honestly shocking. Under California law, gift cards do NOT expire, and businesses are still responsible for honoring them regardless of internal system changes. A POS change is not the customer's problem. What made this situation even worse is that the restaurant took the gift card from us and refused to return it. So not only did they refuse to honor a valid gift card, but they also kept it -- something that still holds monetary value. Refusing to honor a valid gift card and keeping it is unacceptable, and we will be reporting this as an unfair business practice. This was not a misunderstanding or a minor inconvenience. It was poor customer service, mishandled from start to finish, and left us feeling disrespected as customers. Based on this experience, we will not be returning and do not recommend this business to others. read more

Great burrito and taco spot in Indio don't frequent enough as live on other side of The Valley. Normally buy a couple burritos to-go along with a quart of their delicious orange salsa. The lady working the register who I playfully call "La Jefa", as you can tell she runs the ship, is friendly as are the other staff. One of the best mex places out here. read more

Stopped in for takeout on a Thursday evening. Place is really nice inside, and there were a decent amount of people dining in. Caliburrito: a burrito with birria, fries, and cheese. Super simple but very delicious! Most of the filling was meat which I give high marks for. The best part in my opinion is the whole burrito is coated with cheese and griddled, which provides a crispy and delicious exterior. The salsa it came with was really good as well. They have a sign warning that everything is cooked fresh so it's not fast food, but my order was relatively quick. I'd definitely recommend this place. Super easy and tasty Mexican food. read more

Service was great. I ordered the quesadilla with Cheetos with a side of consume with a watermelon horchata. I think putting hot Cheetos in the quesadilla makes them stale. Great flavor though. Service was outstanding staff waitress are very attentive and responsive, the ambience is very casual, friendly and fun, I had to bring a burrito that was fried and cheese and also Brea tacos. Went to work with my dad in Indio and we stopped here for lunch! Best choice ever. The birria tacos were super good, the flautas were the best I've ever had, and my dad loved the cali burrito he got. I also ordered horchata which is not pictured here. The service was fast and our server was very nice! The inside of the restaurant was PACKED so we sat outside and enjoyed the breeze. Food was good, but unfortunately it wasn't worth the long wait. The service really missed the mark. It took about 20 minutes for someone to take our order and that only happened after my son went up to ask. After ordering, we waited another 30 minutes for just a quesadilla and one gordita. The wait time was excessive and honestly ruined the experience. I ended up eating in a bad mood. We asked for lemon and never received it, and when we requested a refill, it didn't come until about 10 minutes later. Overall, the food was decent, but the service and wait time were disappointing. We came here on Saturday for lunch and there was little wait and we were seated relatively quickly. The atmosphere was very lively and the waiters were super friendly and patient. Their specially is Birria (made of beef) but are open to substituting the meat for chicken on request. I ordered the GIGANTE W/ GIGANTE W/HOT CHEETOS AND GUAC with chicken instead of birria. It was delicious overall! While the Cheetos didn't really add much spiciness, it added a crunchier texture and some of the Cheetos flavor, which was fun! The salsa that you can add on the side are a great combination (especially the red one is actually spicy). It was very cheesy and generous with the meat. The tortilla part was also delicious.
