The rudest shop owner I've ever met. When every tag is: "the old price" and "theres a 1 in front of…read morethat number, can't you see it?", and "those aren't pearls, I just want you to know so you don't come back tomorrow and complain about the material", and " other shops charge for a bag"... his posturing of how expensive these stones should be and his patience, his disrespect, it was too much. He kept trying to upcharge me to the last minute. Watch your pocketbook in this place. It's a lovely store, the owner is just rude. He will be nice for 15 minutes, but if you ask questions and don't buy too quickly, watch his attitude and respect level change. Worst experience ever.

We always visit and support the local shops here during our hour wait for Monkeypod, Quality/Quantity - Okay, we like to support the local businesses, but after finding out we paid 3 times the price versus the other tourist locations at Front Street, Lahaina, or Kihei, it knocked the wind out of us. Atmosphere - Small local business. North, their dog is the best. He came by and hung out with us. North just walks around the mall, everyone knows and likes North, see picture. Service - 2 stars, very aggressive sales techniques; not necessary resulting in a positive result. Owner seems friendly, until he starts "selling". Selling, not in an unfriendly way, but way too aggressive after we said we were not interested in another piece. See Lahaina Gems Yelp, where an aggressive salesperson can still make a customer leave feeling positive. Price - $15, we have no problem supporting and paying extra at local businesses; but not when all other locations sell the exact same item for only $4-$5... If I knew that, I would have suggested my wife NOT to buy it. She still may have though, LOL. Owner Comment - I suggest working on a better sales technique... Owner says this is a new location for him, so I almost feel bad writing this review. I believe suggestive selling works, but do not push or overly pressure customers because it can have the opposite intended effect. I think we also bought something from him last year...? Because I remember North as the best temperamental dog!

I've used Nathan's carpet cleaning service on two occasions and both times they've left my carpet cleaner than before. They didn't get out all the stench that I wanted, but our carpets likely required an even deeper cleaning. Overall though, they're fast, efficient, and easy to work with. I appreciate how they work around just the areas you need cleaned if you are unable/do not want to move the furniture--no unnecessary upselling or pressure. They also use all-natural, eco-friendly cleaning products, which was a bonus for me (it's Earth Month ya'll). It was great knowing the products are safe for the my home, the environment, and especially my pets. Nathan's also offers other services like upholstery cleaning and tile and grout cleaning, which makes them a great one-stop-shop for all those deep cleaning tasks. Kurt's level of care and commitment is simply unparalleled, and his work shows the highest levels of experience and skill. He is very passionate about his work and a true artist in his field. Moreover, he is an extremely nice guy, and his rates are very competitive. Duval Tile & Stone recently tiled the entryway to our townhome in Wailea as well as a very large lanai in the back of our unit. When our unit was built in 2007, the cement pads laid by the builder were not level or "square", and over the years hairline cracks had developed in the cement. To ensure that the new porcelain tile that Kurt was installing for us would be level and resistent to developing cracks in the future, he had to do a significant amount of remedial work to level the cement pads and seal all existing cracks before laying any new tile. The best part about hiring Duval Tile & Stone is that the owner, Kurt Duval, actually does all of the tile work himself. Typically, you will only see the owner of a tile company two times: 1) when you get the initial bid, and 2) when you give him the final payment. That is definitely not the case with Kurt Duval. He is on the worksite EVERY DAY, doing all of the work himself. Why? Because he wants the job done right! Kurt's work ethic is truly amazing in this day and age! So, how did it all turn out? Well, Kurt did a wonderful job in installing all of the tiles. And, by the way, everyday he left the worksite neat and clean. Professionalism, integrity, and craftsmanship -- this is what Kurt Duval brings to the job. Needless to say, my wife and I are delighted with our new entryway and lanai, and we will definitely use Duval Tile & Stone for any future projects. We highly recommend Duval Tile & Stone!

I marveled at his conscientious and skillful approach to carefully prepare the surface before skillfully laying down the travertine tiles. He also remodeled our master bath. He is taking the same fastidious approach to create a guest bathroom that is not just functional, but also a work of art.
