VERY dishonest place. The reviews are high on average because they offer customers $100 off if they post a positive view. DON'T BE DECIEVED! As a Bain & Company Consultant I have worked with 2 of the big 3 S company CEOs and head of R&D for over two years. I have been to the labs at two of these firms that test the matresses with "butt" machines sitting on matresses 10,000 or even 100,000 times to make sure the quality is high. The S copmanies are Sealy, Serta, and Simmons, who sell over 70% of US mattresses. I know mattresses extremely well. We asked on the phone for a very firm mattress with edge guard and a high coil count (at least 900+) for $1,500. We were told we were getting a commerical grade Sealy mattress (which I thought might be Sterns and Foster, their high end brand). Their delievery people dropped it off a "Bamboo" brand matress when we were away and ran. Bamboo is NOT a Sealy product. This was a clear lie. I called to understand why they didn't check with us. My wife also expained that we asked for a mattress that was firm with edge guard (and this product had none), and it was not a Sealy product. We also explained the coil count was 500 at best and we had been told this was 900+. The man on the phone suggested we drop by their store. We did so with our son. They have all matresses that are equal in quality to CostCo beds at $200-$550 in price. There were no high coil count beds on their flor. There are no prices in the sales room--ZERO prices on the floor. They try to figure out how much they can trick you for. Prices are clearly listed on all Matress Firm and CostCo products. Maui Bed store try to sell you for $3,000 for a bed that should be $200 at CostCo or maybe $350 at Matress Firm (but Matress Firm throw in free delievery and a matress cover which is worth $75 or so, so not all that bad). I told the man that his matresses were not great in quality (a huge overstatement--they were all poor). I told him that everything his people dropped off was still in the bag (unopened and sealed). I would be happy to take a $900-$1,000 refund, leaving him with $500-$600 left (more than covering his $50 delievery cost each way--so he would make $400-$500 in profit on the mattress because I was stupid and bought over the phone, not mentioning that he lied about the coil count, edge guard, and brand): plus, I'd give the people a good tip on the pick up (good karma for all!). He said I was making threats and on camera and needed to leave. I told him I had not done anything wrong, except tell him the truth. He told me I needed to leave as I was trying to threaten him by not taking a store credit which was offered in my contract. I told him he didn't live up to the edge guard, the coil count, or the brand I had ordered. Finally, I walked out of the store and donated the matresses to charity. The point is they are selling very low quality products at a WAY, WAY, WAY over priced price point. NO ONE should buy from them. Go to CostCo if you want value. Go to Matress Firm (2 blocks from CostCo) if you want quality (and negotiate free delievery and a free mattress cover---you can get it, trust me). But don't go to these sleeze people who lie and then tell you that you bought over the phone. I was very clear about the firmness, the edge guard, and the coil count. They were dishonest on all fronts. read more

You know when you go to a good hotel and the mattress just feels perfect? We own a condo in Kaanapali and it is VRBO'd about 85% of the time. We needed that "perfect" mattress and made an appointment to visit this Lahaina mattress company(Maui Bed Store). Dino, the owner, listened to our needs and pointed to one of his floor samples. Try that one, it is built for the hotel industry and I sell hundreds of them every week to the hospitality business. We tried it, we liked it. Tried one a price point up and another cheaper one. Bought the first one and it was delivered a few days later. We added the recommended mattress protector(again, hotel standard) and the delivery and haul-away fee were fair. Took maybe 20 minutes! When we got back to the condo, I double checked the size and realized that I had ordered the reg king instead of a California ing. Quick call to Dino and the right mattress was substituted at the same price and delivery slot. Delivery was simple. They installed the protective covers on the box springs and mattress and hauled away the old set and all debris. Courteous! Now, a week after delivery, we have that perfect mattress and Dino has a well earned great Yelp review! read more

I needed a mattress protector after the damn bed bugs invaded my neighbors unit. I visited this store on a whim and it was the best decision I made! The customer service was excellent and they helped me pick out something perfect for my mattress. I ordered a mattress from them a while ago and never found a bed frame I liked. I decided to go with their cheapest frame just to get one right away. They said the frame is wood and basic is 399$. He said I could call day of and pay day of. I said I would do that. He then told me that they sell 2 beds a week and that they were running low. And I may not get one for sure on Thursday. I said hopefully you don't run out before Thursday. He then tried to say he was helping me by putting my card on file. Said I could order and call and pay day of. Scheduled it for Thursday. I later that night found a plain bed frame on amazon that I have to assemble myself. Same exact thing for 170. Solid wood too. I called him this morning to tell him I needed to cancel. He was not nice and said ethically this was wrong on my end. I said I found a bed frame on amazon for 170$ and he cut me off and said this is retarted. I said don't call me retarted and I hung up. Worst experience with customer service on this island yet. We get it we are on an island. But you are apart of the United States. You don't get to run a monopoly or treat people like this.I felt like I was conned into giving my card information in the first place. I said I was not ready to pay yet. He's the one said they sell so fast. So me cancelling my order should not be problem. You sell two a week. Ethically when someone calls and leaves you a nice voicemail saying sorry and that they need to cancel their order they placed 2 days ago. Giving you 48 hours notice from delivery you cancel the order. You don't call back angry and try to guilt trip them. Then I told you why and you called me retarted. Let's talk about your ethics. You're overcharging for the frame number one. Number two you already had the frame in your possession you didn't place an order for me. You're not out any money. Number 3 You said they sell so fast you're running out, but I am thinking that was a lie to secure your sale. Just all around bad business tactics. Don't talk to anyone like that. Product, service, and prices can't be beat! We shopped at all of the furniture stores in Maui before finding Maui Bed Store. They don't have set hours like a retail location but you call to schedule an appointment and someone will meet you at their warehouse / showroom. We called late afternoon on a Friday and they said no problem. Dino and Mitch met us there, were incredibly knowledgeable and helpful. We found exactly what we were looking for within minutes unlike every other store we went to and bought two queen beds with mattresses and some great microfiber sheets. The product quality and styles are fantastic. We asked how quickly we could have it delivered since we were sleeping on our pullout couch and expected that it wouldn't be for at least three or so days since it was late Friday. Dino immediately said he thought they could deliver early the very next day - Saturday of all days. If you've lived on Maui you know how remarkable that type of service is. Dino and Mitch met us promptly at the expected time, moved the beds in and assembled them, and cleaned up quickly. I rarely give 5 stars for service but this was one of those experiences that was flawless at every step. You need an appointment but that was no problem. I got one the same day I called. The owner was very friendly and answered all of my questions. I ended up buying a bed set with the frame and a beautiful dresser. The prices are very reasonable. The best part is they deliver and set everything up for you. The poor guys who delivered our furniture had to carry the items up three flights of stairs! The delivery guys were very fast and efficient at setting everything up.
