The Bay has the WORST customer service I have ever encountered!
I will not be relying on them especially during this Christmas season after my experience with them. They lied to me, would not pick up the phone, kept me on hold for 1 hour and 30 minutes, and the store manager told me that they sell "mismatched shoes".
I attended a sale they were having and had 6 shoes that I found a liking to. Unfortunately, I could not find the other odd to the shoes as the shoe area was a complete mess making it incredibly hard to look for the other odds. I had 3 different sales associates helping me. Each associate explained that they would place my shoes on hold and locate the other odd when they cleaned up that night. They stated that I could get the sale price for the shoes the next day because they could not find the other odd due to the mess. Entrusting them, I put my shoes on hold, gave them my phone number and left.
The next day I called the store before making the trek back (as I live far) and no one picked up the phone. I was kept on hold, would bounce to the department -who didn't pick up, then to the customer service representative -who also did not pick up and finally bounced to the "Manager on duty" who also did not pick up. The manager's voice mail was also at full capacity so I could not even leave a message to be contacted back. The call would just end. After bouncing all over the place I tried called different departments. A women in handbags said she would walk over and hand my phone number to the sales associate in the woman's shoe department. A women called me back saying that they have no shoes on hold. I asked her to see if she could check again she said yes and said she would call me back in 15 MINUTES! I waited 1 hour and 30 minutes and no call back.
I called the head office to see if they could help me. All that got me was the representative contacting the store manager. The manager then called me explaining that they had a sellout rate of 94% on the shoes and that they did have my shoes on hold (even after an associate said she did not). His reasoning was that people often purchase shoes with two different sizes. Last time I checked, the sale associates always double check shoes when purchasing so a store doesn't end up with odds. Why would someone buy a size 7 and size 8 shoe? Perhaps there are people with mismatched feet out there who can be the exception but I would not say that it is a majority of people who do this. I am to believe that out of the 6 shoes I put of hold that all 6 did not have a pair to them??
At the end of all this confusion, the manager simply offered me 40% off of a regular priced boot. What good is that when the original boots were $89 and on sale for 30$ not to mention I had 6 shoes on hold. Those were 6 different gifts that I now need to go back to get replaced. I am in this position because of misinformation given to me by your sale representatives. If they were honest and could not locate a shoe in their system from the beginning, I would not have wasted my time with your company. It is hard to believe this is the customer service you provide while stores like Topshop will order my size in store, online and ship it directly to my front door at no extra cost for the inconvenience.
In closing, if you want unreliable, disorganized, untrustworthy, horrible customer service and be kept on hold for an hour and end up frustrated and disappointed go to the Bay! read more
