    Supposedly sweet cakes.

Service was awful! Was told it would be 30-45 min wait to take another order. I ordered pancakes online. Pancakes only. It took 35 minutes and they were awful. See the photo. It was dirty with chairs in the aisle. No greeting, no to-go butter!

Country/cured ham, grits, and a very tasty waffle. May not look fantastic, but they all had great flavored hiding in there.

Traveling through the South and stopped to sleep in Greenville. Not many options for breakfast here, but so glad I came to HH, even though I've never been to one. My server, Amy, was very nice, gave good service, and recommended the country ham. The country ham is amazing. It's salt-cured ham, not the sweet kind. I ate very last piece. Eggs were standard. I also got grits, because "hey, they have grits!" (I'm not from the south so it's always a novelty for me). They were really nice, with a clean subtle flavor - way better than bland grits I've had at diners in the past. The highlight of my meal was the golden waffle, though! It's really nicely flavored with vanilla and there's got to be some almond extract in it too - cooked really well and crisp on the outside. I didn't expect to get such a favorful waffle at a chain restaurant, honestly. So, Huddle House has own me over. If I was passing though again, I'd go here. Only thing that keeps them from having 5 stars is that my table was sticky, and so was my menu.

    Very happy with breakfast!

In Greenville for a meeting and we had reservations for Downtown Grille for 6:30 on a Friday night…read more There were ten of us and we beat the crowd. I was kind of worried since it's a nice looking place surrounded by businesses that appear to be permanently closed. However, a crowd picked up closer to 8, so I can tell it's a local favorite. Our server was amazing! Didn't have to ask for refills, condiments or anything. She handled us really well and answered any questions we had. I ordered one of the daily specials, blackened redfish. Menu said it came on orzo, which I don't like so I subbed for the long grain rice. I added a side of broccolini. Food came out hot and in a reasonable amount of time. My fish, with that Cajun cream sauce, melted in my mouth! I didn't like the rice, as it was gummy but the broccolini was cooked as if a gold medal was the prize at the end of the night! My only misgiving about it was I wanted more of it!

I would suggest calling for reservations. I told them we were celebrating an 80th birthday but there was no recognition. We ordered appetizers: Fried Green Tomatoes: these came with a crawfish sauce which was excellent! Savory and creamy, a perfect compliment to the tanginess on the tomatoes. Duck Wraps: such a great combination of the duck, creamy cheese, spicy jalapeños and salty bacon. Boudin Egg Rolls: these were spicy. Not my jam at all. They were cooked well with a crispy crust and moist spicy inside stuffing. For Dinners: The ribeye: we're used to a $55 steak being a very high quality and well cooked. I just don't think the price equaled the steak. The bone in pork chop was very well seasoned and was perfectly cooked. There was a lot of fat on the chop both throughout and on the edges. The sides were very good! The zucchini and summer squash was the star of the plate. Well seasoned and cooked in a way that they had a slight crispiness. Simple yet wonderful. The baked sweet potato was wonderful, creamy and buttery. The Tuscan Chicken: this is as served on a bed of rice. The chicken was cooked well, juicy and tender. The sauce was creamy with sun dried tomatoes and spinach. The sauce needed salt. The Redfish: perfectly cooked and well seasoned. The rice was also well seasoned. Very good dish The fried catfish was well seasoned and cooked well. The tartar sauce was made in house and very good. The blackened catfish was very good. Well seasoned. 6 entrees, 5 appetizer orders and 3 coffees with the 20% tip that was automatically added to our ticket due to having 6 people in our party was $358. I felt it was a fair price for what we received. Service was good.

They were fresh and well made. Their wings come in full wings so you get the drum, flat and stick piece all attached which equals one wing. So the value for the price is very good. We got 10 hot wings and 10 BBQ wings. Both wings were well seasoned. The hot wings weren't very saucy but they were excellent as is! The BBQ chicken wings were saucy and delicious. If I had to guess the ranch for the hot wings was homemade. The service was fast and friendly. The restaurant was dated and the bathrooms are old. My husband always makes it a point to go for tamales whenever he's in town. This is his place to stop. Highly recommend.
