Now I'll want to go back whenever I'm passing through that part of southeast Missouri. I had the chicken fried steak that came with mashed potatoes right on top and white gravy and it was very savory and good. For the 2 sides I ordered green beans and white beans. It was a heavy meal, but I managed to put away almost all of it along with scoops of extra okra, fried potatoes, tomatoes and pasta in a side dish together, and black eyed peas. I could only manage to eat two rolls and had one where they put a helping of sorghum syrup which I rarely ever see anymore. I grew up on this very kind of food with my southern parents cooking so this place really hit the spot.

A gentleman brought us menus and asked if we would like something to drink. We ordered our drink and he brought them quickly. After he brought our drink he did not revisit our table. We made eye contact multiple times, we tried to politely raise our hand to grab his attention. I know he and other waitresses were aware of us sitting there. After waiting for an excessive amount of time we finally decided to leave. We put cash on the table for our drinks and left. The customer service and general ambience left much to be desired and it made us remember why it had been several years since we had visited this establishment. Some training for your staff may be necessary to keep customers returning. We most likely will not be back.
