Thanksgiving dinner special menu
Nicole N.

Packed on Thanksgiving for lunch, but still promptly seated for three. I love that they had Thanksgiving specials as well as the regular menu. I was seated before the rest of my party, which was very convenient. My server still checked on me as I waited. I ordered the chicken fried steak and it was moist and savory as usual. Great place! Always recommend for that hometown diner-style meal.

Desserts and drinks menu

Huckleberry has been around for as long as I can remember. The environment is cozy and homey. The service is always friendly and almost always excellent. Prices are generally reasonable. Food is always good. Now, keep in mind, this is an old restaurant and the demographic they cater to is often older, but they did revamp their menu and dishes to accommodate a younger crowd. They used to have some dishes that could literally have been served at a hospital, and now it all looks "restaurant". But even then, the food has always been good. Portions are always plenty - generally not monstrous, but not skimpy either. You'll leave full. You'll probably have a to-go box. Overall, whether you're from the area or stopping through, Huckleberry Square is a safe bet. Although, it gets really busy and there could be a wait.

Chicken Fried Steak & Eggs

I used to frequent this restaurant with my family as a little girl. I had not visited in decades so I was extremely excited to go back. The restaurant is exactly as I remembered it. The interior is cozy and reminiscent of restaurants in the eighties with solarium seating in the front. My hubby and I arrived at opening time on a Saturday and there was already a crowd in the parking lot, waiting to get in. The waitstaff was quick and professional...not as friendly or chatty as I remembered in my youth. The menu selection was ample and Hubby and I both ordered Huckleberry Mimosas to start off our morning. They were okay and we only took a few sips before setting them aside. The coffee is what one would expect at any diner (acidic and bitter). One cup is enough, unless you're recovering from a previous wild night. I ordered the Chicken Fried Steak and Eggs, as I had been looking forward to it for a few days. The chicken fried steak had a really great initial crunch (which I always look for), the flavor was savory and the portion was large. The gravy was thick but it wasn't homemade. It had that "came out of a can" flavor. The hash browns were previously frozen but had a great crunch as well. The eggs really had no flavor. My husband ordered sausage and eggs and said the sausage was quite good. He also mentioned that the hash browns definitely came out of a bag. I took mine home as possible leftovers for later. Was it worth a thirty minute drive on a Saturday morning? No. It was simply a trip down memory lane. The prices are quite a bit higher (to be expected) and the food isn't as great as I remembered....but as a kid, maybe I just didn't have as much food experience. Would I go again? To be perfectly honest, probably not. There are so many other restaurants in the Burien area that have truly raised the restaurant bar to heights that Huckleberry Square may never be able to attain (and, yes, that saddens me). But if you're having a moment of eighties nostalgia and want large portions and quick service...I would recommend it.

The food is really good, tasty comfort food. Portions here are huge! I ordered a light meal but still ended up with leftovers. The diner has a nice, chill vibe with that cozy, hometown feel. The server was super friendly and checked in often to make sure everything was good. Great spot for friends or family. I'll definitely come back!

Despite the rush of Sunday brunch, the quality of the food and superb customer service at Huckleberry Square did not waver. We waited for only about 10 minutes for a table for 4. The restaurant definitely had that "diner" feel to it, with booth seating throughout. The menu is expansive, so there is sure to be an option for everyone. Our party was so happy with the food that we ordered, which included pancakes, hashbrowns, an omelette, and more. The main highlight was the chicken and biscuits (MUST TRY!). The only negative thing about our visit was that the waffle was too hard, as if it were overcooked. Our waitress was kind and attentive. She provided updates on the progress of out meal and checked in with us frequently. They were also on top of refilling our cups of coffee without us having to ask. We were met with kindness throughout our visit to Huckleberry Square. I also love how they have a "Giving Wall" where you can buy a meal for someone in need. It's clear that this restaurant hires only the best employees and cares about giving back to the community. I will certainly come back (with friends/family) to try the rest of the menu!!!

I grew up coming here with my family. We have been coming here for 20+ years, the place still looks the same. Food is always tasty with fast and friendly service. A true diner treasure in the heart of Burien.

This place has such a homey, PNW diner vibes! It's huge with great indoor and window sweating. Highly recommend anything huckleberry and the service is quick. Omelette was amazing and the sausage was to die for!

Ask the Community - Huckleberry Square

Do they serve breakfast all day?

Yes. 24 hours a day, 7 days a week

Planning to visit there soon. Saw the decorations pictures online. Wonder those decorations on wall , windows or front door represent ? What is the concept and market for this restaurant? Tks!

Never paid any attention to the wall decor.. the food is pretty good for a diner.. I eat there a couple times a month and always have good meals and service!

Do they have alcoholic beverages?

Yes but very limited on the Spirits

We were looking for a convenient and not too chaotic place for Easter brunch and this hit the spot…read more Located near Burien's main drag in their "Olde Town." You will need to find street parking but it's not too difficult. The name gives you the clue - it's "classic" in a retro, elevated biker bar way (there is a bar in the front and there was a biker out front as well so I'm sticking with this description). On the walls are "classics" like Harley Davidson and Elvis Presley. Among the other things that we did not know (which was everything) - it's New Orleans Cajun-based food. There are some non-New Orleans Cajun items on the menu - traditional breakfast French Toast and such - however, many of the items, from the omelets to the chicken ARE with a very tasty and not-too-spicy Cajun flavor or sauce. My husband had the omelet that featured andouille sausage and was very glad he did. I tried the Cajun chicken tenders (?) that came LOADED, on top of delicious homestyle biscuits, and next to a pile of cheesy potatoes. Service was perfect. Very friendly from walking in the door to walking out the door. Very diverse clientele so you can rest assured you will like it here. Could not have had a better Easter brunch experience unless the Easter Bunny itself was there.

Food: eggs were perfectly cooked and hashbrowns were good. Unfortunately, the bacon, biscuits,…read morebreakfast potatoes, and gravy were all garbage. I was born and raised in Georgia so maybe that's why the taste is so bland. The meatloaf just tasted burnt and like they dumped half the container of pepper in it. The Mac N cheese was decent. They do give generous portion sizes. My son's shrimp Po boy was decent. The lettuse was not limp or wilted. My daughter's bidcuits and gravy looked flavorful but I've had jar gravy that had more flavor. The biscuits were moist. The hash brown were not crispy at all just soggy. I sent the meatloaf back requesting that it be removed from my bill. I took one small fork full to taste it. My daughters captain platter has a burnt flavor as well according to her. I did not try hers. If you want food that is bursting with flavor like true southern food, go somewhere else. But if all you care about is polite service and generous portions then this is the place for you.

We were very confused lol I'm hoping it was a fluke because everything about this place is great . Especially the people who run it. So we will be back and hopefully the food will be seasoned because thats literally the only negative i have to say.
