Well this was kind of a bucket list from a my mom Filipino female friend who kept ranting about hubs both here in Chicago and the one in Skokie. Anyways I gave it a try it's decent or meh ok. Service was a bit slow but they did pick up I ordered the chicken kabob since they said that was one of their specialties next to the gyros but I was not in the mood for gyros I was going to try the ribs but it was a little pricey as mentioned service was a bit slow. Ambience is very casual I thought it was some fancy place this is just a local popular franchise that old Filipinos ranted about. I would come back for the ribs maybe but other than that nothing else that's the three stars on this review. Who was good but just average good nothing I would do cartwheels or get excited about. The baklava was average the chicken was good but not a oh wow impressive the chili was just a meh ok

Update: It's amazing how this place is consistently make great food. Today I wanted something different than my usual order of a gyro, so I ordered the beef kebab dinner. The dinner included includes 2 skewers with veggies, tomatoes, onion, pita and tzatziki sauce. I ordered an extra skewers because I didn't know what the portion size of the skewers. The two skewers were plentiful. The beef was tender and juicy. The veggies on the skewers were tender as well. Made in a pita sandwich is where the magic happens. Every thing just works together. I think I discovered another go-to meals at this establishment.

Quality of food needs major improvements! And the cashiers are not friendly. Came to eat lunch with my mother and the Gyro was dissatisfying, way too many onions and barely any gyro meat. I would not recommend.

We stopped here for the gyros, one of the things I miss most from Chicago. Hub's has really good gyros. They also have the most extensive menu of any drive in I've ever seen. From roasted Greek chicken, to seafood platters, to burgers, and shawarma. One day I'll move beyond the gyro and fries but not this trip.

Look, customer service is key and this place has been going downhill for years. Here's what we get: Gyros...good, delicious. Rice pudding...a favorite. Soup...excellent, a staple and usually the real reason we keep ordering. Feta cheese...good stuff. Burgers...Passable. Here's what we've had that sucked: Spaghetti...awful. Ribs...also awful. English fries...soggy and not good. Italian beef and sausage...eww and on a sub roll?? Falafel Plate...quite possibly the WORST falafel I've ever had. I've gotten food poisoning from eating falafel and this was STILL worse. Dry and crumbly...do not attempt...OMG...inedible. Hummus...even worse. Tahini...tasted like chemicals.

Great place to stop in and eat during The Covid-19 pandemic. Located in a nice neighborhood & within walking distance of my cousin's house. We ordered our food, found a seat and awaited our number to be called. Once the number was called, you were required to pick up your food. I found this to be a bit much, but considering the culture of all things COVID, I get it. The food was average, nothing to write home about, but I should've expected that as I ordered a veggie burger from a non-vegetarian restaurant; so ok. The prices were a little higher than I expected, but fair for the neighborhood and the economy in which I was in. Glad to have visited.

First time trying this place and at first I'll admit it doesn't look like your typical seafood boil…read moreplace. There's graffiti on the walls and staff members are dressed extremely casually but the food does not lie. Our server was very attentive the whole night and they had a fire playlist that consisted of a lot of drake and partynextdoor. We started off by ordering the fried calamari and the Asiago garlic wings and omg it was so unbelievably good. The fry was light and crispy and the wings were absolutely delicious. Both were around $11 each. In our seafood boil we both got a half pound of snow crabs and shrimp and some fillers like corn and potatoes. I got around 1 lb altogether and my bf got around 1 1/2 lb and we were both stuffed by the end of the night. Sadly they were out of crawfish but I am excited for crawfish season. Total bill ended up around $160 with tip which is pricey and next time we would order just the wings and cut down on the sausage potatoes and other add ons. Highly recommend this place and will be coming back once I get my money up.

I like a boil where you can taste all the spices and ingredients. This boil had a sweet taste to it which I've never had anywhere, and I did not appreciate it. No specials/combos to pick from, you had to make your own combos and also didn't list prices... also, 1.25 for one piece of corn??? lol all jokes aside, the food was pretty mid, the sweetness to the "xxx" spice level was really disappointing and overall very pricey for what you actually get. I'd find another place. Love

This is unique because I've actually have not ever had broccoli or green beans with my seafood boil and I would definitely have it again in a heartbeat. I'm in love with the garlic noodles and fries besides the main seafoods. They have so many different deals and promotions, high quality, friendly service! The spot is pretty roomy and can accommodate a variety of different size groups. I also enjoy they provide gloves, a bib, and a sink outside of the bathroom to wash your hands. I was sold after finding out its a Viet cajun seafood boil spot - plus it has really good reviews. I recommend making a reservation cause they can get busy. I like how they write your name on the reserved table - a nice touch. Also parking in the area is scarce so plan accordingly. They have a decent happy hour menu so we were able to take advantage of that! We shared the Lover's Cove for 2, then shared corn bread, garlic noodles, and the spicy cajun fries. The seafood combo only came with 1 lobster tail which is a bummer. We got the crab pad style (cajun) sauce. The sauce was fire. Compared to other seafood boils, this one wasn't as super garlicky. To end the meal, we built our own popsicles with unlimited toppings! Great way to end the meal. Flavors they had were matcha, ube, cookies n cream, birthday cake, blue raspberry, etc.

I hate knocking a small business but it's really hard to be excited about my experience…read more Pre-ordered a lobster roll and the mussels for 2 (which comes with most things you need). The lobster roll was mostly bread and very little lobster. The lobster in it was very small, stringy pieces and nothing like the large chunks in their own Instagram images. I would be willing to pay more for a better sandwich with more (and better) lobster. It wasn't premium lobster in look or taste to be honest. This sandwich, in its current form, is a hard pass. Mussels were okay. A few that didn't open, but that's to be expected. I'm not sure how fresh they were since they had a bit of a fishier scent. They give you a head of garlic, a lemon, a baguette and a tub of compound butter. It's great in theory, but the butter was tasteless and I could just as easily used my own butter and other ingredients. The customer service was okay. We called ahead to make sure they had all of the elements of the mussels as part of the package and the person ringing me up still had no idea what I was talking about. In the end she made sure everything was there after I brought it up so it was fine. One other issue I had was that they just put the mussel mesh bag in my bag and they leaked mussel juice/water over everything else in the bag. Two of those things were tinned fish gifts for someone else and the cardboard was soaked in fishy smelling liquid. I know there is a new owner and I really hope he does the things he needs to improve and make this place worth it. Right now I can't see going back when there are places like Boston Fish Market that get it right.
