He expertly walked me through the permitting process, which can be difficult in the city, and worked with me through all the details. He was recommended to me by a friend and I would gladly recommend him again. We also did a mold remediation and closet rebuild, this was incredibly time sensitive and somewhat difficult because I am the landlord and had to work with my tenants to make sure they were ok with the process as it was happening. He helped talk both me and my tenants through what the process would be like, making sure that there were plastic walls to protect us from the mold as the job was being done, and beautifully completed the project within a very tight timeframe at the last minute. Very grateful for his expertise and his concern for my tenant's well being. I actually have another project that I'm planning to reach out to Eduardo for in the future!

This company did a remodel on a coop I bought in Alameda…read more UPDATE 10/3 Total Works did come out and re-did the floor at not cost to me. Frazier explained that they can only perform the work that the customer or seller or Agent paid for. I understand that part, but as I told him - no one asked me who paid for my floor - All they see is the end result - which was not good. They did not repaint the trim, which i will do myself - I told him that selecting one color to paint everything is fine, but you still need to prep. There were other issues when the redid the floor - the decorative toe kick on the NEW cabinets came out in the middle and instead of glueing it back they wanted to nail it. I asked that it be glued and they did glue it... but Nailed it anyway...they left tools and trash of theirs and took a tote of mine. Which was quickly taken care of. They were nice enough to replace the gold threshold with silver. The floor now looks fabulous - they tore up the vinyl, put new underlayment in the whole kitchen and put down a new piece of vinyl. I appreciate Chase and his follow up! 1. I needed a gas line put in for the dryer and a water line for the fridge. I got an estimate of $1200. I thought that was high so I asked if I could save $400 by going to the city myself to get the permit. Frazier told me he gave me everything I would need to pull a permit for a gas line. I have the letter of approval from the HOA and a drawing of my kitchen showing where the line was going. The very nice people at the permit department in Alameda told me that I needed a drawing showing all the BTUs, etc showing that it was possible to install a gas line, not a drawing showing where it should go. And they told me that a licensed contracter should have known better. I agree. so I got another estimate from Todd Roberts at Roberts Plumbing and he took care of everything for $675. Now I am having a problem with the linoleum floor that was put in the kitchen. It is bubbling and they obviously did not level the floor becuase I can see the outline or a sheet of plywood that is now coming up and will soon come right thru the floor! They painted everything Beige - walls, ceiling, woodwork..everthing. I am certain that the color was at the request of the previous owner, so I repainted the walls and ceiling, but when I started on the trim and doors I noticed that the new paint was peeling off. What company would paint without priming? I asked my HOA and the Realtor how to proceed and they said contact Total Works and have them come out and fix it. I have an email in to Frazier and will update this when and if they contact me. UPDATE 9-2-14 A very nice man named Chase just called in response to my email adn has scheduled a time to come out and make things right.

I wanted a bit of work done on my condominium, and sent an email with a list of specific items I wanted renovated. They responded by saying they could give me a quote, but that they would need to see the condominium first. This is a given, so I drove out two hours to the condominium in San Francisco to meet with Bayardo. He was a little late, but that is understandable because the parking in the area is atrocious. Bayardo was a really nice guy, and we went through every item that needed to be renovated. I told him that the renovation was time-sensitive, and that I would like a quote ASAP. He took pictures of everything and promised a quote by that night. The next day, I receive an email from Jorge saying that they can't provide a quote because they need to see the place again. So I ask if he can meet that day, and he's unable to. I ask if they can meet over the weekend, but he's busy. So Jorge suggest the following week, and I hesitate because the renovation is extremely time-sensitive with the HOA meeting coming up. He promises to meet on Monday, so I reluctantly agree. Monday morning, I wake up early and drive two hours into the city to meet Jorge. Less than an hour before our meeting time, he texts me to say that he's canceling, and that he won't be working with me. In succinct, Total Works Corp is extremely unreliable and unprofessional. One of the most critical things in contracting work is reliability-you don't want your contractor abandoning a job mid-contract. If you're considering working with Total Works Corp, please be cautious and consider other options.

I could find many contractors who would do the big ticket items but they don't seem to care about the little stuff that would make my life easier. Martin from Hintz's originally came over to give me a quote for the damaged siding of my house. However, he didn't stop there . He started pointing out all the little stuff he would help me fixed up along with the siding project without me asking for them or pointing out those problems. He was observant, patient and thorough. I'm glad I picked them . Martin and his crew were wonderful. I was so happy with their work with the siding . I started to give them more jobs around the house . 1 week siding project turned into few months of work around the house. Sound proofing wall, flooring , closing a window, reframing window and door, replacing window trims , kitchen cabinet/ counter top extension , electrical sub panel , recess lights, relocating receptacles, installing recess dryer vent box , relocate crawl space entrance , removing water heater, installing pipes for tankless water heater , demo and rebuild a deck, welding railing, concrete paving etc . There is absolutely nothings that this company doesn't do. We did all of those while we were living in the house . They were very careful and clean to make sure our life was not too disturbed by the construction. I highly recommended Hintz's company.

When one of the larger items came up, we were referred to Hearny Construction by my former landlord. They have replaced a roof, new walls and siding, put in a new wall heater, a new bathroom combination fan/heater, as well as built a whole new fence in my backyard that blew down with the high winds late last year. They are reasonably priced and hard working. I dealt mostly with Juan, who works as a project manager - great guy, really friendly and helpful, coming on site regularly to explain the whole process and walk you through everything. I was referred to Luis by a coworker and he was fantastic!…read more In the past 5 years, I've probably worked with a dozen contractors in the Bay Area, from GC, drywall, electricians, plumbers, tile, HVAC, and landscape (after having completed a down to the studs renovation in 2021). I would consider Luis in the top 10% of people I have ever worked with. Luis was easy to communicate with, showed up on time, clearly outlined the scope of work, and delivered exactly what was asked for and more, at a fair price! My water heater was EOL and developed a leak which damaged the plywood housing supporting it. Luis cut out the damaged part, cleaned all the mess out, reinforced the subfloor joists, and replaced it with new plywood. All of this in time so that the plumber could install a new water heater the same day. While he was here, I also asked him to make some small adjustments to my cabinets. One of my cabinet doors had broken off and I ordered new hinges but struggled to get it back on level. Luis made sure that 3 cabinet doors which were a little off-level were adjusted and tightened to open and close perfectly. He even noticed my front door had the same issue and proactively fixed that too. He did such a great job that my fiance wants to hire him to do a fence for us. 5/5 stars!

We had a serious mold issue which was caused by water intrusion from the outside of the building, through cracks in the stucco. Viorel and David did a great job fixing my place. They were patient with me during a difficult time, while also being very mindful of my living space and our two cats. The second job he did was having to replace our entire bathroom due to water damage from inside the building. They gave my bathroom a complete makeover!! We went from a tiny stall shower with old floors/fixtures/toilet, to a tub/shower combo, a new vanity sink, new flooring, toilet, the works! I couldn't be happier. We live in a 10 unit building with a landlord who prefers to do subpar/patch work to save a dime, but Viorel refused to do that. He will only do a job the "right way" and fix what needs to be done. We've had other contractors here who would cover up the issue instead of investigating it more to find the problem, but this has never happened with Neagu Construction.
