Southdale has come a long way over the past few years, and it shows. The updates and renovations…read morehave made a noticeable difference, and the mall feels much more modern and intentional than it used to. There's no longer a shortage of recognizable brand-name stores, which makes it feel more like a true shopping destination again. There is a mix of luxury stores and every-day shopping which brings good value. That said, there are still a few odd, lesser-known shops scattered throughout with inconsistent or unusual hours, which can be a little confusing. The food options are decent. The traditional food court is a bit of a letdown, but there are better standalone options throughout the mall like Rustica Bakery, Pezzo Pizza, Yumi Sushi, People's Organic, and others. Having Kowalski's grocery store on-site is also a big plus and adds convenience. Entertainment-wise, there's more to do now with options like an escape room and Dave & Buster's. The mall is spacious, never feels overly crowded, and has plenty of parking, which makes it easy and stress-free to visit. Overall, the updates are a very welcome change. Southdale feels revitalized, easier to navigate, and much more enjoyable than it was a few years ago.

There were not many stores I was interested in going into. There was no directory- you had to use your phone to try and figure out where stores were. Overall vibe was just sad. I was there during a weekday and it was deserted. I hope once the construction is done that more stores go in, and it picks up a little, but I would not go back.

Mall of America® - I'm looking at this coming from IKEA, realize it's the Upper Midwest, and see an MOA venue named "Flyover." Anyone else find this humorous?

It was such an incredible experience it really makes you feel like you're flying, and the visuals are so realistic. Definitely a must-do if you visit! I also loved all the food options. There are so many places to choose from, and everything I had was delicious. It's nice being able to take a break from walking around and enjoy a good meal without even leaving the mall.Another favorite was the axe throwing it was SO fun and something different from the usual mall activities. It added a really exciting, adventurous vibe to the day and made the whole experience even more memorable. The atmosphere throughout the mall is lively, clean, and full of energy. There's something for everyone shopping, entertainment, food, and unique attractions all in one place. It's perfect for a fun day out with friends or family.I would 100% recommend visiting, and I can't wait to go back and try even more things next time!

The cool thing about this is that you can catch the train right into the place just about. I had a 9:30 flight that was arriving in to Minneapolis and of course I couldn't check into my hotel. I bought an all day train pass and made my way. The coolest thing is that there are lockers of various sizes so you can store your luggage (for a nominal fee) and wander around this massive mall, got to about 1/3rd of it. I was taken back to the the 90's with the old school music playing and some of the stores that I thought didn't exist anymore. There were at least two of the same store but just on different levels or sides of the part of the mall I was in. The amusement park in the mall with the rollercoaster and kiddie rides and roaming characters was awesome. I went back the aquarium, which I would have gone into but it was filled with kids, and honestly it was too early :) Had a great meal at the crepe restaurant. If I was a senior retired, its a great nifty 50s walking spot or just getting out people watch. I would definitely try to go back to see the other parts and to stay the hell out of the cold weather this California gal is not used too.

TJ Maxx is in a mall structure. Kohl's, across from TJ Maxx, is a part of the plaza style. It's different. There are quite a number of stores that I have yet to visit. I finally got around to visiting Starbucks. Traffic is one-way in that parking lot. Most folks don't care, though! I am still relatively new to this area. I would like to visit the Applebee's, and Bed, Bath, and Beyond the next time that I am shopping here. There is plenty of parking. I tend to park in the middle of the parking lot when I visit Kohl's and TJ Maxx. I just walk over without moving my car. I like this place. It has stores that I frequent and I tend to find good deals. I then treat myself to a drink at Starbucks and my day is completed. (7)

I loved checking out all the Halloween decor as well as some of the other home goods. The prices are pretty fair for most items. I'm naturally like those TikTok's when they guess what the price is and if it's over what you guessed you put the item back, because you probably don't need it anyways. Generally you never know what you'll find at Marshall's which makes it fun. Didn't have much interaction with staff until we checked out and the cashiers were nice.

Fabric, construction, wearability after repeated washing, poor poor poor. I now rate this dept a one star. I stopped looking.. Luggage: used to be one of their top departments where every now and then you found quality labels and some very good construction. Rate a 3 star. Men's clothing you must read labels, examine fabric construction quality VERY carefully i rate a 4 star. All shoes are simply terrible, a one star. Don't even look. Women's sleep wear: hunt VERY carefully, this was a top dept. rate 3-4 star. Read labels, examine quality of fabrics carefully. Bedding towels: this WAS a 5 star area, now 2-3. The location was great as it had a large entrance but the space was a bit too big for their merchandise. They had large interactive displays that were entertaining to see people try as they had motion sensored mechanics to move a figure towards a mark where someone would stand. On one side of the store they had aisles and aisles of themed costumes from cartoons to movie characters to generic halloween costumes. On the other side there were walls of masks and plastic accessories. I was surprised at how many masks there were. If you need a mask, this would be a great place for it. With any halloween store and kids coming in and out, there were items on the floor and kicked under racks, etc. There was a large open space between the two sides of the store with barely any items on display. They should have spaced the inventory out more in my opinion. I was looking around for quite some time and didn't happen to see any employees until I went to leave and could see them chatting by the checkout counter. It was a bit disappointing that no one was walking around the store tidying up, asking customers if they needed any help finding anything, or if anyone had any questions. Maybe there was an employee I didn't happen to see that was helping someone else but with the amount of people in the store, the employees should be a bit more engaging even if they are just seasonal staff.
