Purchased a bag for my motorcycle from this store online. Made sure to confirm returns were accepted before purchasing. After receiving item, I decided it wasn't for me so attempted to return the item back for a refund. That's when the communication stopped. Countless unanswered messages I decided to just ship the bag back and hope for a refund. Didn't happen. Owner finally reached out and said he would provide me a refund ASAP. Months later and nothing received and back to the several unanswered messages. Not a business I recommend. I purchased a canvas bag for my son, oder #1105, in November, 2019. It was for Christmas. I received a notice that it was posted for shipment on December 19th. Christmas came and went. I tried multiple times by email and phone to find out what was going on. Finally, someone responded to my email stating it was lost in the mail. After my own investigation, it was never mailed. I was promised that a new bag was being made and would be shipped that week. I have called and left messages and have sent emails with no response. Do not order from this company. I thought I was doing a good thing by helping a USA company. Do not make the same mistake. Unethical behavior and terrible customer service. read more

We were sent away once entering the store on a Monday afternoon. Staff informed us they were closed. (We were unaware of store being closed on a business weekday) Point of greeting / sale interaction missed the mark with a fully staffed showroom and an unlocked front door. Purchased a bag while in the store to be shipped to me since I was traveling with no room in my luggage. I was told it would take 3-5 days to get it. That was over three weeks ago and I have still not received it. It wasn't cheap. I have called every number I can find, sent messages through email and Facebook and have had zero response. We were so excited about getting a bag from Christian after seeing his store featured on Good Bones! Now I'm out the money and no bag! I placed an order for a bag for my wife's birthday with the expected shipment to be 2 to 3 weeks according to their website. At almost the 3 week mark I emailed just to get a status to see if it would be in on time for her birthday; however, no response. I emailed 3 times and no reply emails. As of 9/12, still no shipping information on the product and the order was placed on 8/15. I'm a little upset first because I missed the wife's birthday and 2nd because I liked another product I was going to purchase, but I don't think it is worth just giving my money away. read more

LOVE their products but not so much their Customer Service. My husband ordered his messenger bag at the end of February, to finally received it early June. It took many unanswered calls and emails to the company in between. We were worried because initially our understanding is it will take 4-6 weeks for a new item to be made. Glad we got the bag, and it was really beautiful. Not sure if we would order again though, next time we will just buy what's available instead of placing an order for item to be made. read more

I was one of the unfortunates who ordered Mab Graves Bag in August 2017.( PLEASE KNOW THAT MAB LENT HER GOOD NAME TO THIS COLLABORATION AT NO FINANCIAL OR PERSONAL GAIN TO HERSELF !!)Almost a year of emailing , Instagram messages with NO response & then asking sweet Mab to intervene on my behalf ( as I am in Australia) I received a shoddy, incomplete & poorly made facsimile of what I purchased . This Item was not cheap . I was very happy to pay for a quality handmade item & to support small artisans.And I was prepared to wait for a bespoke item despite being in the first 40 to order. I do hope that personal issues have not played a part in your lack of care for your customers ( I don't want to judge your situation entirely by this experience ) But you really should be appalled at what you have delivered as the bench mark of your talent ( which you clearly have) I feel seriously taken advantage of. read more

I have purchased two bags for my significant other from this store over the past two years. One being a brown small to medium size purse that was from one of his new product lines. The thing has held up like a champ after two years it looks amazing still today. Christian recommended a few things to do to care for the leather over time which has really kept the bag immaculate. As for the second bag I purchased a black leather plunge back that looked so sharp with its folded top. This bag was so much more than just a practical piece it makes a statement and everyone always ask where did you get that bag. Its so easy to spot any of Howl & Hyde's bags around town because they all have the detail and quality that you will never get from a store bought bag. Besides the bags the shop is ridiculously awesome you walk into a retail space that is super fun to shop in but you also get to see the work being done (no questions asked about quality). After coming into the shop a few times Christian recognized me enough to ask if I wanted to have a beer and if I had any questions for him. Got to love having a beer while shopping! read more

I ordered a bag and billfold early August. As stated on the website, there's a bit of wait for items. No problem, totally get that it's essentially a one man crew. However, after two months (October), I emailed Chris twice to no response. Finally received a response on a Friday in early November that the package would be sent the following Monday... after that crickets until Dec 4th when I was sent an auto-message saying the package has been sent. It's now been a month and the status is still in pre-shipment, as in a label was made but USPS has not received the package from the sender ... Such disappointing service, especially in regards to communication. read more

I had been looking for a messenger bag for a bit. I knew exactly what I wanted and, being relatively decisive, would be able to reconginze immediately when I found the right one. As I was shopping at James Dant I looked up and saw the absolute perfect bag and bought it immediately. It's absolutely beautiful. Classy, simple and timeless. Christian, the owner, did get back to me very soon after my last review and was able to get my remaining item shipped out to me within a couple of days. Apparently they have been very understaffed recently, so service and timeliness should hopefully be better once staffing is fixed. UPDATED REVIEW.....for the THIRD TIME. Yes-it has been over a year that I've been dealing with this man's complete irresponsibility and disregard for his customers. I sent my damaged items back-in JANUARY. I've been following up for months.....being patient while they moved, etc. the latest-I was fed up and no longer wanted my items returned as-I'm terribly disgusted with the situation. I was informed that there was a "cash flow" problem and that he couldn't afford to refund my my $940! So.....being the understanding person I am, I said I'd take it in trade for some merchandise. He jumped on that and agreed-even went so far as to email back and forth for me to make some selections. Then....on AUGUST 23, I was told he was shipping TOMORROW! Well.....it's September 20, and.......NO PACKAGE YET! So-I've been calling, emailing, messaging constantly to inform Christian-the owner-that I'm done being kind and being taken advantage of. I want my $940 refund immediately. I am so completely disappointed and disgusted with this horrendous business ethic-that frankly, I no longer want anything made by these people. They don't deserve to have a collector like myself carry their product. I'm hoping I don't have to take legal action......but $940 is not pocket change. And I think that's actually a low number of what he owes me. From one shopper to another-I don't recommend this company unless you're shopping in person because this man is a liar and a manipulator. read more

We purchased a $65 leather bag from Christian Resiak the owner of Howl & Hide for when we ride. That was back in January and he has been contacted more then 3 times about this matter. He refuses to return calls or text. He has not refunded our money or even have the decency to contact us. Be leary of ordering something that you can't get right away (like in front of you). I wonder how many other unsuspecting buyers he has done the exact same thing to. Also the wallet my friend received from him was crap. Wore out in three months. read more

Purchased a bag around the holidays as a gift and received the wrong bag. Attempted to call and email with no response so drove to the shop to find it was closed. Managed to drop by when they were open and was told there was a shipping mixup around the holidays and that I'd receive a call when my intended bag was returned. A month later, still no word so I emailed and received a response that my bag was in production and would be done by the end of the following week and was quick to tell me that he warned me he would have to make the bag from scratch to which I had to recall our entire prior conversation. Another month goes by, no call and no email about the bag that was to be completed the following week so I emailed asking for a full refund and he agreed but tried telling me they had been trying to reach me for weeks. Completely untrue as I'd been waiting on pins and needles to hear back. Poor customer service. Never received the refund directly from H&H. Set poor expectations. Little to no follow up. For the amount spent, I would have been perfectly fine waiting as long as needed to produce the correct bag of the finest quality IF the wait expectations had been set and met. I always try to shop small & local and unfortunately this experience left a sour taste. Hopefully others have better experiences. read more
