I decided to check this place out as I was wondering through Fountain Square. I'd never been before. The inside decor is really nice. They sell leather goods from handbags, backpacks, duffle bags, belts, wallets, eyeglass cases, etc. And their workshop is located in the back, so you can see them making the items right there in the store. They also sell a small collection of women's clothing and jewelry. The Wild's Barbershop is located upstairs.

Howl & Hide is my go-to for gifts! Not only do I have multiple items myself (a backpack, a tote, a key ring, etc), but I love getting stuff for my family from here. This year, I ordered a messenger bag for my husband and can't wait for him to open it on Christmas. I feel like I've used almost every service from this company. I got a backpack strap replaced, I've been to the sample sales, seen both shops (old and new), and buy things on their small business Saturday deals. I've always had a good experience with the products and the staff every time. The staff is friendly, helpful, and knowledgeable. You can see the passion for their work and I love what they do for the Indy community and beyond. Love this brand!

Howl + Hide is such a cool & creative store and all their bags are made here in Indy. I love all the color options they have added to their selection and the grocery line is so unique! My Meridian Market Tote has been my go-to bag for the last year. Great store all around!

Such a cool shop! Beautiful leather products. So nice to see something unique in Indy and not just the same old brands. It even smells good! Need a haircut...they even have a barber shop in the back. Checkout the motorcycle on the wall. I was on my way somewhere else so will go back and spend more time.

I absolutely love the products that Christian and his staff are hand making! During the pandemic I ordered a red tote and I love it! Big enough for an iPad, iPhone, wallet and a good book! My son has 2 bags for his motorcycle and has the orginal wallet from when they first opened. Their products are durable and high quality hand made, USA made products!! I wish them well and go visit them online or Instagram @howlandhide

You've seen the clip from Parks and Rec about TREAT YO SELF 2011, right? The part where Tom and Donna say "FINE LEATHER GOODS"...that is what I tell myself every time I sling on one of my bags from Howl & Hide. Christian HAND STITCHES the most gorgeous, genuine leather bags, and I cannot resist the look and feel of each labor of love. Once you pick up one of this totes, wallets, purses, or brief cases, you're not going to put it down (trust me, it's happened five times). Some of his products are a splurge, but these are the purchases that are going to last a lifetime. Don't waste your money on a flimsy fake bag - TREAT YO SELF and let Christian hook you up with one of his FINE LEATHER GOODS.

Horrible customer service. Placed and order the first week of November. I was told it would be a two to three week turnaround. After several emails were finally answered we were told that our product would be shipped on December 12. This was a lie. On December 19, a USPS label was created. However, as of today, January 5, 2020, the USPS still had not received the product. The company will not answer my emails any more. This afternoon I will be filing a complaint to the Better Business Bureau. I would advice future consumers to stay away from Hide and Howl ***update***finally received my order a week ago (the middle of January. I was very disappointed because what I received didn't look anything like the photo on the website. I have sent multiple emails and received no replies. I have decided to file a complaint with the Better Business Bureau of Indianapolis.

After going to an alterations shop that said they couldn't sew on the strap of my faux leather…read morebackpack, I found RM Leathers on Yelp. They used to have a brick & mortar shop, but they now work from the back shed of their house. At first, I was hesitant when I saw that the business was in a residential neighborhood. When we pulled up, there was a "RM Leathers" sign on the mailbox and front door. I called and said I was there and the owner came out to meet me. I brought my husband because I wasn't sure what to expect, but when owner Teo opened the door, we realized that he's my husband's friend from soccer. Such a small world! Teo (pronounced tay-o -- Greek name), is SO sweet, efficient, and talented. He took only thirty minutes to sew the straps back on my backpack. He's affordable and you can call or text him to drop-off or pick-up items. Him and his wife run this business, creating leather jackets for motorcyclists. They attend a lot of conferences around the country to mend leather for these riders. It was such an unexpectedly great experience and I've already recommended him to a few friends! He has a sweet family and I love giving my money to deserving people like this fam!

RM Leathers = Miracle Workers!…read more I unfortunately spilled salad dressing (OIL) on my beloved Frye boots. I live in Chicago and went to three leather specialists who told me there was no hope. I called Frye and they said there's nothing that can be done w/o ruining the leather (seriously your boots are $500 and you can't help me - but that's another story). A friend told me about RM Leathers and I happened to be going to Indy for the holidays. Teo & Liz are true professionals and won't steer you wrong. Teo was very thorough in explaining that they'd clean and treat the stain - my boots are BEAUTIFUL - no stain! And their prices are very reasonable - they saved my boots when others told me it was a lost cause.

The craftsmanship of this bag is exceptional and it's obvious that creator Anita Hopper has put a lot of thought and care into making this one-of-a-kind bag. The particular photo art bag I received was from the Indiana Elements collection. These bags are a mother and son collaboration. The imagery found on these bags are from photos the son has taken on journeys throughout Indiana. The artwork is stunning almost as if it were hand painted onto the leather. Not only is the outside wonderfully made but the inside is just as gorgeous with lovely pocket details, high quality fabric, brass hardware features and plenty of space to put all of your stuff in. I appreciate that this bag is not only one of a kind but it's locally made using up-cycled re-purposed leather and fabrics. I absolutely LOVE this bag and as a lover of all things Indy this was the perfect gift anyone could give me. Looking for yet another unique gift option from Refind, consider this.... If your thinking about getting rid of an old leather jacket Anita offers a custom service option where you can contact her to have that old worn out item transformed into a new beautiful one-of-a-kind accessory. Think grandpas old Army jacket, your sisters jacket you bedazzled when you were kids, dads motorcycle club jacket, your husbands old punk rock jacket, the jacket Bon Jovi tossed your way while singing "Born To Be My Baby" at that concert you sneaked out to see in 1988...the options are endless. Details found here: http://www.refindoriginals.com/keepsake-and-custom. Note: These bags can be found at Homespun or for purchase on her website.
