Ron's LOST my boots. The stub and receipt showed two pair of shoes, but I only received my wife's boots back. They made me feel it was my fault and that I never left the boots with them. My receipt showed I paid for two boots to be shined. Ron just kept saying I had them. After weeks of this, I finally asked how they were going to resolve this. He would only pay half for my Johnson and Murphy Chelsea boots. So now I have to pay to replace my boots. I never had a problem with Ron's for many years. During my last Birkenstock purchase at Englin's, I was talking about a pair I love but need repaired. The employee told me while Birkenstock doesn't repair their sandals, he recommends I check out Ron's. He couldn't remember the cost to re-sole, but while getting my size from the back, I called over. Ron was very kind, asked if cork was exposed yet, and since they were very close but not quite there, said the cost would be $49.95 plus tax, cash only, takes about a week or so. I stopped wearing my shoes to not further wear them out, keeping them in my car. I almost stopped by several times but kept forgetting to go before 4:30pm when they close during the week. I finally made time a couple weeks ago and found the little white building that contains the shop in the back, tucked behind Steak n Shake. There's a sign that points where to turn. Inside reminds me of a real world Geppetto's workshop, maybe even one like your grandfather had growing up. Very nostalgic! The two gentlemen working were kind, I paid the cash, and was asked if I was in a hurry for these back. I said no and got a receipt that they would be ready in 10 days with an approximate pick-up time. I just picked them up and again, the guys are so nice. I had my receipt to make things easy, got my shoes shown to me, and I was speechless. They even have the Birk stamps! I was offered a bag, complimented on my silly strawberry sweater, asked about my weekend, and went about my way. Genuinely kind customer service here! As I went outside, looking these over in the sunlight, they are literally perfect! This is so much cheaper than buying a new pair for almost $200, especially since these are leather with the limited white bottoms, and I don't have to break in my favorite pair again. How did I not know this place existed?! I've driven by the sign so many times. I was happy to find them in the back of the paint shop parking lot on the west side of Westfield blvd. I took a pair of boots in to see if they could stretch them for my clearly abnormally sized calves. Why is it so hard to find boots to fit my calves?! Anyways- I've had these boots for several years and while always the task of what I assume is like stuffing sausage into casing, I could zip them. Cue workout program I started in July and while the workouts are good for me, they've only increased the size of my calves. These guys said they would give them a stretch and to come back in a week. Cash or check only and it was such a nominal fee. I came back in a week and they were still tight. They said to come back after Christmas and low and behold- they zip! Woohoo! They offer a variety of other services, including leather and handbag repair, in addition to shoe repair. I took two pairs of Frye riding boots to them to have stretched, and they told me that if they still felt tight to please come back and they would stretch them again at no added cost. I cannot begin to tell you impressed I am with Ron's Shoe Repair. I brought two pairs of boots in to have repaired. My cowboy boots were trashed, hole in the sole, leather torn and severely damaged, warn and broken down. I had little hope for them, so I was having a new pair shipped to me. After getting them back from Ron and his son, I will be canceling my order for the new pair. They literally look brand new!!!! Racist old man, took my boots...for a shine and scratch repair. I was happy with the price and paid up front. The young man ask for me to come back for a pick up on Saturday, but I returned the following Monday. The old man couldn't find my boots and got very ugly with me and cursed at me to go back to my country. Which in returned I asked him to go back to his country because my people were here before him and his. Think twice before you take your shoes to this racist man. We took two pairs of old Birkenstocks that the strap style and color are no longer made. They replaced the footbed and the sole and the Birkenstocks are like brand new for significantly less money than buying a new pair and we get to keep the color and style that we like. I have used them also to repair a leather soft sided briefcase and again outstanding service and quality of workmanship. I rode my motorcycle from Phoenix, AZ to Speedway, IN to surprise my dad for his 90th birthday. The day before I was set to leave and head back home to Phoenix, I noticed the sole on one of my riding boots had come loose and separated from the stitching. I looked up "Shoe Repair" in the Indianapolis area, and on a whim, I chose Ron's. What a GREAT choice it was. I took my boot to Ron, explained that I was leaving the next morning, and he told me he'd have it ready that same day. A few hours later, he texted me and had me come pick it up.
