At drop-off I was given a thorough verbal assessment where Gino set clear expectations. At pick-up, he let me look at the shoes with him and talked me through a bit of what he'd done. The work looks great, and I'm so pleased to have these shoes back to wearable condition. I have more to bring in and know Gino will do a great job with those as well.

Most of those reviews are from costumers with the typical "expectation versus reality" mentality. Birkenstock customers are typically the worst of the bunch. Your Birks, like ALL shoes, have a life expectancy. Don't blame Hakky for not being able to bring your sandals back from the dead. If you're asking to have the sole replaced, you're likely better off buying a new pair. If your cork is damaged, it's DEFINITELY time to buy a new pair. Yes, the father is better than the son, but the skill of the father has been learned over DECADES of experience. If you're giving them poor reviews because of this, then you're the reason shoe repair is going the way of the dodo and should be ashamed! Show some grace, it's called a learning curve, and bring a cobbler is an art form that's being lost thanks to consumerism. And yes, I'm guilty as well.

So I ended up paying for a new set of luggage after all, which I'd been trying to avoid in the first place. I had a pair of boots that were in pretty good shape, except the heels were falling off and when I came and picked them up, I was so impressed. I decided I needed to do a review. What's exciting about this places they not only take care of your shoes, but they have shoe strings in every color as well as wax. Now I know not everybody needs all these colors, but working in the furniture repair business and in the art world waxes in many colors is a treat. I love the family pictures going all the way back in time as well as the pictures of the employees that have been there forever as well. You can't go wrong walking into this place.
