The delivery happened after several months due to the pandemic supply-chain disruptions and was a less pleasant experience due to the fact that the deliver team did not perform all the checks they were supposed to do upon delivery. We purchased a refrigerator from this store and found the product is defective after a month of use. A technician inspected the unit and opened ticket for a replacement. The sale person we worked with at the store was supposed to follow up but he never called. Fine... up to this point, the situation was pretty smooth. 5:00pm on Saturday, we get an automated delivery notification from Howard's that the delivery is scheduled the next day with no other details as to how they pick up the defect. We had to call the CS several times to find out we are supposed to empty the fridge in use before the exchange is delivered. We had just stocked up our fridge earlier that day for the whole week and have no spare fridge to store the food while the replacement cools down to safe operational temperature. We reached out to the store sales person (who says its "out of his hands"), delivery department (who deferred to sales), and their distribution department (who went home for the day). We even offered to pay for a pickup on another day, but no one we talked to has the authority to say "yes". The person who does went home already (distribution department manager). They told us to just get some coolers and that the defective fridge MUST be taken at the same time. Maybe we wouldn't have been as upset if we didn't buy $300 worth of groceries 6 hours before their notification, but Howard's has shown no empathy to a situation of their making. This is going to be our (and anyone who will listen to us) first and last time dealing with Howard's. read more

I have been purchasing from Howard's since 2002. After Sears said it would take 4-6 weeks to get my refrigerator and no ice-maker.... went to Howard's...same exact refrigerator with ice-maker delivered the next day. I have always shopped at the Torrance location. Just last week, I needed to purchase a refrigerator... Albert Rojas, the store manager assisted me...very personable...very professional...very polite... ended up not only purchasing my refrigerator, but also purchased an adjustable.... Beautyrest....While completing my purchase, the CEO was there assisting a friend who lost their home in the Palisades fire. Once they found out who my employer was, they thanked me and they told me to let the community know if you were affected by the fires... come in and get a free mattress. I was highly impressed. I don't know if you know, but Howard's is an employee owned company. To the delivery, Albert called the day before to give me my delivery time frame. I also received texts and emails regarding my delivery. Holwarth Quinonez was my delivery person today. He called letting me know they were 30 minutes out.... very professional on the call. He and his partner arrived with gold glove service. Both were polite, professional, energetic and motivated. Delivery was smooth. The short story...excellent experience , highly recommend, could have been 6 stars. The longer story...I had been shopping around for appliances for some time. After lunch at Gaetano's (which was great, btw) I walked over to Howard's Appliances just to look around. I don't even remember when I was in that store last. What a surprise! The manager "JR" was great...friendly, very informative and, at my request, even made some specific suggestions to help me sort out choices I was considering. What started as just looking around became a specific list of appliances with very competitive prices and an order "to think about " if wanted to order from them. I ordered several days later-- overall an excellent shopping experience. What was even more surprising was the orders status and delivery process. Note: I have experience with most of the major appliance/fixture stores--Home Depot, Lowes, Pacific Sales, Ferguson, etc. including with this project which is a major kitchen remodel. My experience with Howard's is the best delivery experience by far. Timely, accurate communication; efficient, courteous actual delivery. Bottom line, I highly recommend you consider Howard's Appliances, especially the Torrance store that "JR" manages. My daughter and I went to Howard's to buy a washer and dryer on August 18th. Everything went OK until the delivery service. They left the washer and dryer downstairs in the lobby. Joseph Muniz was the best associate ever! Not only was he patient and prepared, he was super knowledgeable and answered all of our questions. I came into Howards after a failed experience with Home Depot. They had my items on back order for over two months. The week it was suppose to come, they told me 1.5 days ahead of time that all 6 appliances' delivery would be pushed to a month later. They confirmed the wrong time, address, and appliances. Later, they couldn't separate the order because it was against policy. I had no idea how I was going to move in without appliances. I called this Howards but didn't get a response. Frustrated, I started to compose a text question (super awesome capability). In the middle of composing, I got a phone call back from Joseph. Not only was he completely understanding, he advised for me to forward my email order from Home Depot. When I got there an hour later, he had the items pulled up with options. I went into Howard's last week on 5/18 and purchased a washer. I had asked specific questions regarding if anything was defective with the washer, how their return/exchange policy dealt with it. The person I spoke to assured me if it was a defect, they would exchange it during the 7 days after delivery. I received the washer the next day and after maybe 4 loads of washing, the fabric softener was not being released properly during the wash cycle, I would find it dripping down the top of the wash drum or spilling from the bottom of the agitator all over my washed clothes. I thought it was a one off time but it continued so I called Howard's today (7th day) and spoke with JR about this defect and requesting an exchange. I had the WORST customer service from him and he kept pawning me off to the manufacturer when they clearly could have provided me with an exchange. There should be no need to repair a one week old appliance! I will never be returning to Howard's, they have some work to do in their customer service area. read more

They had it installed and working in no time at all. This was our first time using Howards, we had order one from Best Buy but the two guys who started to deliver it came upstairs and said they couldn't do it. They never explained the whole why and then they took the refrigerator back and left us without a working refrigerator. They said they would call back but they never did. It was so frustrating. I purchased a refrigerator from Howard's Torrance which I only learned had damage to it many months later because it had been unopened and in storage due to the COVID crisis. I surely thought I would be SOL due to the time lapse and store policy on returns and/or damaged items. Much to my relief, my problem was solved by Customer Service Manager, Tamara Napier. Tamara went above and beyond the call of duty using all of her resources and wherewithal so that I wouldn't be stuck with a severely damaged appliance. She made serval phones calls, emails, and follow ups to the manufacture, factory reps, and district manager. Although it took some time, she never relented and was very kind and courteous throughout the entire process. We were in the market for a new Washer&Dryer. Most appliance stores were low or out of supply. Decided on the LG brand and knew which model fit our needs the best. Needed a set right away as the laundry was piling up and my wife's patients were, lets say, running short. We were met upon arrival at the store by Saleem who made us comfortable and said he had the dryer that we wanted in stock. Had a great experience ordering a refrigerator and dishwasher at Howard's this past weekend. I had dove the research on models that would fit our existing space, took measurements, researched the consumer reports ratings then visited the store hoping to see the models. While I did not find my size, I did see similar which helped finalize our decision. Received great customer service. They items have a 4-6 week lead time bc not in stock so I might be back to rate the delivery & install but really liked the experience. I did not want to purchase at Best Buy or Home Depot and felt the service I got at Howard's felt personal and professional. Highly recommend! read more

UPDATE: 4/1/2023 I upgrade my review of Howard's to a 4 star rating. I posted my original review on 3/2. The next day I was contacted by a VP at Howard's who apologized and said he wanted to make it right. An installation crew (which arrived in a Howard's "branded" truck) arrived at our house today (3/5) at around 10:45AM. FIXED CONS: Con (1): Howard's management apologized, said it should not have happened. Con (3): Although the advertisement doesn't say so, the customer CAN in fact request a physical Mastercard to claim the refund. We did receive the card on March 31. Con (4): Howard's management explained to me that because of expansion there are a few non branded trucks they use and I just happened to be one of the one's. Con (5): Howard's install crew agreed the level was slightly off and did need an adjustment. They leveled it ran it on extra high spin and it was agreed it can't get much better than that. They also advised me against using anti vibration pads I had bought since the washer in on a pedestal. Con (6): Howard's install crew advised me that although the manual does say these things are in the box, they really are not! Con (7): Howard's did respond and came out to our place again on 3/5. Con (8): I DID in fact receive the actual Service Contract via e-mail on 3/14! I had to ask for it, but they did sent it. It's actually fairly reasonable considering its for 5 years and it comes from a local store we can walk into and talk to someone face to face, and that store has shown me they they do actually care about customer satisfaction. So, while I am not a fan of "Extended Warranty" or "Service Contracts", this one seems OK for the price and the length of it. The reasons they don't get the 5th star are some communication issues (communication regarding leveling, providing an actual copy of the Service Contract, and a copy of the manual for the pedestal). But once I brought the leveling and Service Contract issues to their attention, they did promptly address them. I never asked for the manual for the pedestal, I doubt anybody ever does! All in all Howard's is a very good place to shop. I'm a person who is paranoid and sweats ALL of the details, most people don't. We will definitely shop at Howard's again when we need a new refrigerator and from the noises our refrigerator has been making lately, that will be fairly soon! read more

This is the first time I had ever been to a Howard's and I'm glad I checked this place out! We are remodeling my mom's kitchen and we wanted to make sure she had matching appliances. The challenge was that she lives in an old home with a 24" gas wall oven, which drastically limited our options. There are only 2-3 ovens that we could choose from, and most are out of stock indefinitely or severly back-ordered (on the order of many weeks, even months). I struggled for many weeks trying to get a matching set of appliances, and was about to give up hope until I found Howard's. I walked into the store, and was immediately greeted. Before I even asked about the wall oven model I wanted, the associate guessed at the exact one I had in mind!! I'm still confused as to how he knew, but I guess he's the appliance whisperer! :D He had one left in the local warehouse, as well as the matching refrigerator, and said he could have them delivered as soon as next day. Woo hoo! The transaction was seamless, and the price was amazing (the cheapest of any appliance store or online warehouse). Two days later, the delivery team showed up exactly as scheduled and dropped off mom's brand new appliances. We installed them that same day, and her new kitchen is now the talk of the neighborhood! Needed a new refrigerator, purchased one online from a major retailer and waited 2 weeks for delivery. On the day of the scheduled delivery, after we had cleared a path and emptied the old fridge, I get a phone call saying they can't deliver today. Next available delivery will be almost a MONTH away! Went online and found the same fridge at Howards for a little bit cheaper than my original store. I inquired about availability and Jorge called me back and said they could deliver on on Monday (a holiday!). This was Friday. Fridge was delivered first thing Monday morning, the crew was quick and professional removing the old one and installing the new one.
