If there was a no star, I would be selecting that. I went to see Dr. Kochevar which seemed like a really nice place. I called before I went in because the week prior, I had some serious pain in one of my teeth and I went to Salud Clinic, and they removed a piece of calcium that was irritating my gums. So, the search was on, I needed a cleaning, and I needed a dentist ASAP. I called around to other offices that were either booked or since I didn't have insurance didn't have a plan that I could afford. So finally, I found the Hover Dental Group. They had an insurance plan for 400.00 of which included your initial intake, x-rays, cleaning, and a 6-month appointment after your first cleaning. Well wonderfully my problems were solved. Noooooooo they were just beginning. When I arrived at my appointment everything was smooth, I checked in, paid the insurance and was finally going to get my teeth the maintenance they needed. They walked me back; they took my x-rays and did a periodontal exam. After that was done the dental hygienist came in and proceeded to polish my teeth with just an absorbent amount of fluoride. I didn't understand why they were not doing the cleaning of my mouth. After washing my mouth and sending me to the front they had a treatment plan for me. They told me that I was a periodontal patient and that I needed to come in for 4 sessions of deep cleaning which would involve anesthesia. OMG what!!! Not only that but it was going to cost 1400.00, which the insurance I had just paid didn't cover. SMH The last time I went to a dentist was a year ago, so I knew I needed a cleaning (but a deep cleaning) NO. So, I called my old dentist which I had been with for over 10 years. They set up an appointment and cleaned my teeth, there were a couple of pockets of areas of concern, but we are going to keep an eye on those. Hover Dental Group has some questionable business practices to say the least. After returning to Hover Dental Group to get a refund for what they didn't do, Tilly the office manager said that the most she was going to refund was 105.00. Honestly, I feel like all I owe is for X-rays, which we did use at my other dentist's office. We did another periodontal exam and the cleaning and that cost 195.00. Tilly is telling me that their exam and x-rays cost 295.00. This is just not ok. This place is horrible, if you don't believe me read some of the other reviews. How they remain in business is blowing my mind. read more

Dental care is fine. Dr Kochevar is nice and a good dentist. The office staff is rude. Felicia doesn't listen, talks over you, doesn't explain things in a kind way and is generally rude. She alone will cause them to loose patients. She needs to find a job where she doesn't work personally with the public. read more

I will not return to this office ever. After a filling and crown and despite repeated visits here, plus repeated visits to an endodontist for a root canal after the original procedure, I am unable to chew on that side, brush on that side, floss on that side or sleep on that side. It's been six months and I have spent close to $2000 for nothing but pain and discomfort all day every day. read more

I moved to Hover Dental Group this year and I've been impressed with the services they offer. It's a Clean and friendly place with modern equipment. The big deal for me is getting a proper fitting crown while I waited. Much faster and with better quality than my previous dentist. read more

Update: 2 years later and still have issues with the teeth Dr. Kochevar TRIED to "fix". Avoid for your own safely. Maybe you'll have better luck if the cashier at Home Depot was your dentist. read more

If you just need your teeth cleaned every 6 months and no other work done or guaranteed, this practice is for you. I went there for three years for my routine cleanings but unfortunately was told by Dr. Kochever that a previous crown was improperly fitted and needed replacing in 3/2017, though there was no previous issue reported on my part. I paid $794 out of pocket for a new crown that then fell off in 12/2018 after I moved to San Diego. My new dentist couldn't permanently place it back on due to CA medical laws and its improper fit. I contacted Hover dental to return my $794 because my insurance wouldn't cover costs for a new crown due to it being under 5 years. Dr. Kochever's response was sorry, but not sorry, "if you're willing to fly out here, we'll replace the crown." I've never had any of my previous permanent crowns fall off after being placed and the fact that I'm told on the phone, "we can't explain why it came off," I was penalized for moving for my husband's job and having his crown fall off within 1.5 years of placement. There are many other competent dentists in Longmont to choose from. read more

Beware of surprise billing and unnecessary services. At a routine cleaning they did an unnecessary panoramic X-ray that insurance would not cover. I called for 3 consecutive months to discuss my bill, but the office manager would not return my calls. Finally, she told the receptionist to reduce my bill by $15 if I drove from Fort Collins to Longmont to pay the bill in cash. Maybe they were upset because I went somewhere else for Invisalign braces, but the orthodontist I went to charged $2,000 less than what this office quoted. I have no issue with Dr. K's work, but I do have issues with greedy billing practices, served with a smile. read more

I had a botched filling done here. Returned to the Dr. Kochevar in excruciating pain. He took no action. Had to call someone else to get my pain under control and lost the tooth. When I disputed paying for such a terrible experience he got aggressive and asked, "Have I not been a good dentist for you!?" I told him I wasn't going to pay, he sent me immediately to collections. We needed a emergency visit tonight for our four year old and they got us in after hours and were the sweetest and most gentle with her. She was so scared and didn't want to let go of me. I was satisfied with the treatment and the professionalism of the staff. However the website said they accepeted my insurance (United Health Care) and they took my card information with no problem. The problem is that they are not in the network for United Health Care so I will be paying the entire cost. $336 for xrays and cleaning. read more

Fancy office. Sloppy dentist. Does rushed work to get as many people in and out as possible. Office staff seemingly unfamiliar with insurance and how to provide accurate pricing for services. Will do procedures with out approval and bill you for them. Reported to insurance company for fraud. Go to a different dentist because this guy is trash. read more

I went it for a cleaning and a referral for an oral surgeon. The staff was nice and so was the doctor and I had a good visit except that they told me that an old filling was beginning to crack, so they removed it and replaced it. I had trouble with hot/cold sensitivity right away. I went back and there was a small crack (I believe I was charged for both visits) and they "fixed" it but I still have problems with the tooth, especially to very cold temperatures. I'm afraid to go back due to other reviews. He also proceeded to give it a fluoride treatment without really discussing it with me. I just don't want to take any more chances with this tooth, so I will be going back to my original dentist. read more

Everything was going fine. I had a check up and then returned to have some fillings done. The staff seemed nice until the doctor mentioned that he wanted to put a compound of fluoride down into a deep cavity into my wisdom tooth. I strongly believe that fluoride is not good for the body, which is a belief I have along with many others. The dentist walked out of the room mid procedure and came back with a phone number of another dentist that I should go to instead. He never said anything else to me and had his assistant finish up the procedure. I felt totally discriminated against because I have a different belief about flouride. Instead of talking about that option they just wanted me out the door. They didn't even take a moment to explain after care on the procedure that they just did. At least they gave me another number of a dentist that would deal with people that have a difference in opinion from Hover Dental. Good luck with your narrow minded opinions. I just started coming to Hover Dental about a month ago. I have had two visits (for much needed crown work) and I've been more pleased then I would generally have imagined possible where a dental experience is concerned ! I have had much dental work in my life... Dr Kochevar and his assistant Carlos, have proved to be top shelf! I feel fortunate to have found this group because the entire office feels intently patient focused. The staff is pleasant, efficient and knowledgeable. The dental assistant is smart, articulate and very capable ( in explaining what's happening and in working with the doctor collaboratively so that I feel like they're a team). Dr Kochevar himself is kind, direct in his proposal of treatment options, and gives the least painful injections I've ever received!!! It really feels like there is an explicit mission to maintain high standards professionally and interpersonally in this office...The people appear to like each other, I feel respected by their timely, communicative, and knowledgeable work effort on all fronts. (AND the place is soothingly beautiful:) While going to the dentist is never going to be high on my list of things I enjoy doing...I think this is about as good as it gets! read more

dr. kochevar is a straight shooter, very professional. i live in LA and had an emergency, and was seen the very same day. dr. k presented me with a few options and there was a perfect balance between what i thought i wanted coming in, and what he told me could also be done. i'd had two molars that i was pretty dead set on having extracted, ever since seeing the extracted molars on the other side of my jaw a few years back. (decaying, gross stuff). one of them had been causing me pain for months, so that's the one i came in for. dr. k consulted with me and said, let's take out the filling and then decide whether it can be fixed (new, large filling) or indeed needed to be extracted. ie, why completely throw something out that could be repaired, an extraction being a pretty impactful procedure. so despite being pretty dead set on removal, i welcomed the suggestion and also, both procedures would have cost a similar amount, which isn't unimportant. upon removal of filling, he saw immediately that the cavity extended to the root, and suggested removal. we did it, and afterwards in passing i said, hey what about the last molar in the back? he looked and discovered a large cavity and, given that this tooth had no function (no tooth on the opposing side of the jaw to bite onto) he suggested to remove as well. i said, let's go for it. for this, it was necessary to take a different xray (for him to see really the total story of that last molar), and he provided that to me free of charge, given my predicament. that wasn't necessary but a welcome offer. two molars pulled in one hour. i couldn't be happier to finally have this decaying material - which probably had been oozing bacteria etc into my body for years - out of my body. dental assistant also super professional and straightforward. you can just tell years of experience with people, and there's nothing like that. just overall a great experience. i walked out of the office super relieved and very well taken care of. when i'm in the area again with dental needs, i will for sure come back. thank you. read more

I hate going to the dentist and I won't say my experience makes me want to go now. What I will say is that I had the best dental experience I've ever had. The staff members are empathetic, kind, and funny. Carlos is absolutely amazing as is the Dentist. This guy conspires w/LPD & LUH, (Longmont) he set me up by, having this lady come in & grind my already receeding gum's down to expose my roots, she used a water jet & picks to losen my gums from the teeth & now their all lose from the front to my back teeth & I'm probably going to lose all of them, she wrecked my gums. In addition I don't know what he injected in my right cheek but I keep biting it. I think it was botox or some kind of chemical because, my right cheek is sagging like a dogs jowels! He didn't even address my obvious receeding gums. This way the city can start telling people my teeth are falling out from drugs that I don't do! It's because LPD lured me to the station under false pretenses & Ofc. Hazen planted drugs on me w/4 other officer's that wittnessed him & did nothing. They already have family & old Foe's of mine spreading different rumor. I went back after complaining & he told me "there's nothing I can do" He's incompetent & needs more schooling! The solution for that is they make medication that regenerates flesh! Topical & in capsules. He tried telling me they will have to cut skin off the roof of my mouth & graph it to my gums. He will leave you deformed even if it's his fault! read more

I took my children to this dentist for several visits. After we had waited a total of 30 min, the dentist came out yelling at me that he shouldn't come outside to get us. Looked at my son for 30 seconds and told receptionist "we are done with them" after handing me a number for different dentist. read more
