On Monday I hired Houstonian Services to clean my windows. At first I thought they did a great job, until the sun hit the windows the next day at 5 pm. I broke down in tears when I saw I have hundreds of scratches on 13 windows. When they arrived on Monday, I explained to them that I had a special coating on the windows not to scratch them. They are tinted. They told me they knew how to clean them and remove the paint. I have about 28 windows in all. I have 13 Milgard custom transom windows that run across the back of my house where bright sun hits the house. When my painters re-painted my house they got over spray on the windows. I hired Julio & David after seeing them clean my neighbors windows. And I saw they had good reviews on Nextdoor. Unfortunately they scratched all of my transom windows with a tool they used that is never supposed to be used on tinted window.
I called the window rep in a panic today. He asked me did they use anything abrasive or a razor/blade type tool. I told them they had this black thing they were using. It turns out it was a blade/scrapper of some kind. When they came back today they tried to say they didn't scratch my windows, it must have been from my painters. My painters didn't clean the windows, they said I had to have someone else clean them. I've been looking at my windows in the bright sun for months although dirty there were zero scratches. The painters finished months ago, but I finally hired them after the rain stopped. Obviously they don't know how to clean tinted windows and they have almost destroyed the glass. They look horrible when the sunlight hits them.
While they were looking at the windows, I went by there truck and sitting right on top of the bucket was the tool they used. Also my window company told me that not only do you not use a blade or scrapper on their tinted windows but never on any tinted window from any company.
I may have to have all the glass changed out. I have a specialist coming tomorrow to look at them. I text him a picture of the device they used, he told me they screwed up badly. I've attached a picture of the tool. I would advise you not to let them near your windows with the tool. Also they immediately started blaming the painters and would not take any responsibility. I don't know if they are insured but tomorrow I will find out how badly they damaged when Service Specialist show up to look at the window. The scratches are everywhere. My advice don't book them. If they take responsibility for this then I will change my review but not until. read more
