Amazing makeup artistry by Houston Makeup! I reside in Colorado but my company's Holiday party was based in their home office in Houston, Texas. I was frantically looking at Yelp reviews and kept coming across great reviews for Houston Makeup. The owner was kind enough to get me in, just a few days prior to my event and kept in contact about my appointment. Definitely a reassuring feeling with a sight unseen makeup artist. My appointment was handled professionally and I had nothing but compliments on my makeup all night!! The only tip I have is, if your traveling from out of state and using a ride share app, book your drive with Uber. My lyft driver took a long time picking me up. I booked to have my hair and make-up done here before my friend's wedding and couldn't be happier with the result! I never usually wear make-up so was nervous in case I came out with way too much on but Lily asked me lots of questions throughout and made sure I was happy with things at every step. The make-up lasted through standing in the 96F and humid evening, the wedding ceremony and a good few hours of drinking and dancing! My hair do was lovely and didn't give me a headache like previous up-dos I've had because Lily again checked that nothing was too tight etc. Of course the curls dropped a little in this humidity etc but nothing could have stopped that. Lily and Natalie did my hair and makeup at my Airbnb for the Rolling Stones concert last night and they were amazing! We came from out of town so I started calling places ahead of time. As soon as Lily got on the phone, I knew she was what I needed - she's very friendly, connects with you right away and you immediately know you're in good hands. Natalie did my hair exactly as what was in the picture I sent except that she made it even better by pulling up some loose curls that would have just drooped in the July TX heat. And the style stayed all through the night of dancing. She's a true professional and artist! Lily was very patient and precise with my makeup. She kept checking in to make sure I liked it and she made changes if I wanted a little different color or blending. I got so many compliments! But best of all, it felt like we were friends and we had all got together to get ready to go out. We talked about concerts while they worked and played songs from our playlists. For my big bachelorette blow out, I wanted a professional. No not a stripper, a team of professionals to do my hair and make up. It was a special occasion, so after doing some research, I found Lily and her team online. We were able to speak via email about the date, rate, and options. She was extremely detailed, professional, and helpful. We settled on hair and make up (she would bring her assistant Nelly) on location at Hotel Zaza. She texted me that day to confirm time, and called me on time when she got there. Lily and Nelly were very personable, friendly, and make the entire experience make me feel glamourous, and like a million bucks! Lily gave me a look book to start on make up, and gave me some great suggestions on what would work with my coloring and skin tone. She took direction the entire time making sure I was comfortable on all choices. Nelly (who did my hair) also had me take a look at different books, and made my hair look amazing. I was BEYOND pleased on both hair and make up. In the process, she gave me tips and hints on brands of make up, and helpful hints. They were time efficient, and on time, which is important. Best makeup and hair ever! !! I went here for my wedding hair and makeup and they did an incredible job. I don't wear alot of makeup at all so i was extremely hesitant on getting it air brushed; i didn't want to look too different or fake. Lily completely understood. She listened to me and constantly communicated with me the entire time. My makeup was flawless! I got so many compliments and my pictures are perfect! My hair was also flawless! My updo was a little complicated but Nelly executed it with perfect expertise. it was secured with Bobby pins. You couldn't see a single pin and my hair stayed the whole day even through all the dancing! All my wedding festivities started at 10am and the hair and makeup stayed perfect till 2am. I had to have some pictures made yesterday so I made an appointment with Lily to have my hair and makeup done. She did such an amazing job! Everything looked stunning. She matched the perfect colors for my skin tone. I LOVED how my hair turned out. The photographers couldn't stop going on and on about how great my makeup was for the pictures. My appointment was around 9:30am and everything lasted all day. Her studio was very clean and super cute. It had a great vibe to it.
