SUPER STAR HAIR AND MAKEUP ARTIST! I've been admiring Sheila's work for years on social media, so she was my dream hair and makeup artist for my wedding day. Only problem was, I wasn't sure if I could make it happen since she lives in Texas and my wedding was in Arizona. Lucky for me, she travels! Y'all, I TRIED finding another hair and MUA locally that I liked just in case I couldn't get her, but nobody came close. Before the big day, she coached me on what to do so I'd look my best. I never had a trial, but I went in with full faith and gave her free rein to do whatever she thought was best. I even joked that she could say "Okay Izzy, we're going to shave your head and wax off your eyebrows!" and I would have gone with it. My trust in her was that absolute. I had two bridesmaids that chose to have Sheila do their hair, and their hair looked STUNNING! So I thought I knew how to do decent makeup before, but Sheila really opened me up to so much more. She is so thorough and patient! I couldn't have asked for a better makeup lesson and recommend that every woman invest the money into a lesson with Sheila. First make sure you bring all your make up brushes. It doesn't have to be anything fancy because she will work with what you have. Second, make sure your camera is completely charged. I am so bummed out that mine died 2/3 of the way through. It's fine though because she has you taking detail notes of the whole process plus she does a face chart on top of that. This way you will have 3 things to reference too while practicing. The lesson is wonderful because she has you repeat each step individually after her. She teaches you many techniques that you would have never known before or have been doing wrong. I was bad about holding my brushes wrong and applying to much pressure. The value is insanely good!! Foundation, clay stick for contouring, corrector, loose powder, eyeliner, cake liner, brow duo, lip liner, gloss, shadow base, primer, bronzer, blush, mascara, and 3 shadows. The value of the make up itself has to be $400 on it's own!! Plus she spent a good 2 to 2.5 hours on the lesson. Because I couldn't stop looking at myself in the mirror while driving home!! Sheila of Makeup By Sheila is an artist and an amazing teacher. I received a gift certificate for Christmas (great gift by the way, go mom!!) for makeup lessons. I wasn't really sure what to expect but thought what a fun treat before the big day to get skilled and doing my own face for the big day. The lessons are uh-mazing!! Sheila walks you through step by step of two different looks with her doing half your face and you doing the other half. She truly pays attention to what you are doing while you do your half and corrects anything you might be doing incorrectly. She also allows for the session to be videoed so you come home with a full tutorial. I had read before I went that I would receive the makeup to complete my look. I imagined trial sized samples. I could not have been more wrong. We are talking amazing quality full sized makeup. I won't have to buy makeup for at least 6 months!! Holy cow WOW! I just finished a private makeup lesson with Sheila and I am blown away! Sheila has done my makeup a few times before, and I do my best to pay attention to what she is doing each time. I have picked up a few tricks over the years, but I had NO IDEA how much goes into making my face look so good on stage! LOL I always wondered why I could never get my face to look as good as she makes me look. Now I know! She is the best in the industry because she does not leave out any small details. Make sure to read the website before you go to your lesson so that you get the most out of it. If you don't have a good set of your own brushes, she has a wonderful set for only $75 that you can purchase and use there. I am glad I bought her brushes because she showed me how to use each one, and they are numbered, which makes taking notes much easier. Also, make sure to bring an SD card with lots of memory on it! That way you can record the whole session and not miss anything! She lets you ask tons of questions and take lots of notes, so you definitely get your money's worth! She also gives you a ton of makeup so that you can do your own perfect face everytime. Sheila's work is absolutely magical. I booked Sheila for my prom after spending hours online searching for a make up artist who caught my eye and was available. I was blessed with her last available appointment for that day! From the second I walked in I felt so welcomed. I noticed Sheila paid soooooooooooo much attention to little details.
