I've bleached my hair sooo many times and she uses high quality products to keep my hair from falling out! My friends are always complimenting my hair too! Even after constant dying, changing to 3 different colors, the faded out end result still looks good. I even take my 2 year old son to get haircuts from her and she does everything I ask her to do. She is awesome I def recommend!

The Bridal suite was my vendor for hair for myself (bride), my mom, and my three bridesmaids. I…read morejust read another review from a few years ago that sounds exactly like my experience. But I'm not sure if it would have made me look elsewhere if I read it before I hired them due to their high overall rating. They didn't get to our location on time so they were still doing my hair which made the wedding late by 30 minutes. The whole wedding schedule was pushed back and needed to be rushed due to this vendor. I asked for Hollywood waves. I got 90s frizz. We even told her it was too frizzy and she did a little more work (it actually looked worse before). I thought this place was good. A professional hairstylist should know how to do Hollywood waves. They also made my mom's hair look like crap. They did okay on my 3 bridesmaids. Even if they did better-than-okay on them, that would be like 50 points out of 100. I texted Tru about our disappointment. She literally said, "For your hair, we actually loved how it turned out." You either can do it or you can't. This tells me they don't know how to do Hollywood waves which makes sense since there aren't any pictures of people with the Hollywood waves look in their pictures on Yelp. It also says my opinion doesn't matter. In her text, she said, my mom "didn't have enough hair to do braids." I literally did the braids on my mom's hair before the wedding and that was without extensions and it still looked cute. So this just confirmed that she (the owner, Tru) didn't care about doing a good job as she was the one doing my mom's hair and had a look of apathy on her face in our bRiDaL sUiTe while we were getting ready. I would have thought that at least her reaction to my complaint would have shown concern or any level of standards to meet the client's expectations. This was the worst vendor that we worked with for our wedding. For some reference, our makeup artist was amazing and did an amazing job on everyone. (Moka Beaute) The picture of me in the comparison photo (right) was taken less than 2 hours after they did my hair. It looked pretty much like that immediately after they were done with it.

When I entered, I felt safe with how socially distant I was from the other person getting their hair done. I had asked for volume and curls and Tru took it to a whole other level! A super fashionable and talented hair & makeup artist helping ladies look fresh and flawless for…read moretheir perfect day. I was recommended by my friends and Sharon K. of Sharon Nicole Photography to hire Stephanie Martinez for my bridal hair and makeup. At the time, Stephanie was the lead artist for Flawless, which happened to close right before my wedding (eek!). Fortunately, Stephanie started her own company and graciously had me booked in no time. She is an on-site artist, which means that will meet you at your house, venue site, or preferred location, since she doesn't have her own studio. She's also very responsive and prompt via email, which is a major plus for me! When I first met Stephanie at my bridal portraits, I was stunned by how talented and fashionable she was. Not only is she young and gorgeous (which really says something about her hair & makeup skills!), but she is super sweet and great to work with. While she is very open to your ideas and preferences for hair & makeup, Stephanie can also do a great job without suggestions from brides like me who don't usually wear makeup or get their hair did frequently. (She even convinced me to try out false eyelashes, which I don't regret at all now that I look at my photos!) I also booked her for my bridal party on my wedding day (FYI - she offers a group discount for parties of 5 or more), and I thought she did a terrific job for all my bridesmaids and me! She pretty much works at a rate of 1 person an hour for hair and makeup, but she prefers that you hire her assistant if you have more than 5 people in your party. Although the makeup feels a little heavy at first, it definitely settles in and makes you look naturally fresh and flawless in photos. The hair & makeup also lasts through sweat and tears for hours too, which is a big plus for brides-to-be! I highly recommend Stephanie Nicole Hair & Makeup to all Houston area brides - she's super talented and a great joy to work with! I'm definitely referring her to all my girlfriends who are getting married in the future!

Due to my Italian decent, my hair is naturally brunette, a bit curly, and the color often changes drastically depending on the season. With that information handy, it's extremely difficult to color, maintain, and being as picky as I am, even harder to have cut correctly. A coworker of mine recommended Shazi, a friend of a friend, and her long time stylist. I decided to give it a shot, and I am so glad that I did. Shazi's boutique salon is located inside a larger salon, but provides privacy and an uninterrupted space for the consultation, and services. This was a concept that I was not familiar with prior to visiting Shazi, but I loved it. Her little boutique is just for you - awesome music playing in the background, and cute, relaxing painting to put you at ease. Shazi also helps put you at ease. She took her time in getting familiar with my hair, it's history, and making sure that we were both on the same page about what was feasible, and what she could offer for me. 3 hours of coloring, cutting, washing, and styling later, my hair was a masterpiece. Shazi was able to accomplish exactly what I wanted, a feat none of my prior stylist have been able to even come close to doing. Shazi was so friendly the entire time, and honestly feels like a long lost best friend by the end of it all. I absolutely 100% recommend, especially for other long haired brunettes like myself who know the struggle. Shazi's got your back!

After countless disappointing experiences and hundreds of dollars spent, I can confidently say: Mariah is the one I've been looking for. This was, without question, the best experience I've ever had with my hair. From the moment I sat in her chair, Mariah took the time to truly consult with me--she looked at my hair, asked thoughtful questions, and most importantly, she listened. What stood out most was the trust she built almost immediately. With her knowledge, calm confidence, and patience, I knew I was in the right hands. No one has ever spent that kind of quality time with me. For over three and a half hours, she educated me about my hair--how it behaves, what it needs, and how to care for it in a way that actually works. She explained my options clearly without ever being pushy or trying to sell me anything. She was simply there to help--and that made me trust her even more. I originally came in considering a treatment, but through her expertise, she helped me understand what my hair truly needed. I left with a hair treatment, a haircut that suits me better than anything I've had before, and a clear plan moving forward. Mariah is incredibly knowledgeable, passionate, and truly a gift. To have someone you trust with your hair is everything--and she earned that trust from the very beginning. If you're in Houston/Katy/Richmond and still searching for "your person," stop looking.
